Absolute dogsh*t company. Slow internet, advertised fiber speeds are shared in the building and straight up scam approach to discounts and contracts. What they tell you verbally in the store is the complete opposite of what is included in the contract so you either lose your discount after year 1/2 or are forced to pay +300CHF to cancel a contract.

This is the worst telco ever. I was a student studying in Switzerland. I switched to Salt as I trusted them, but it was a huge mistake. I do not have a contract duration stated in the policy document as it was just a normal monthly contract (14.95 CHF/month). But I was charged early cancellation (222.27 CHF) due to the contract. Subsequently, I was required to submit a document that I am leaving the country, when it wasn't mentioned when I signed the contract. In the first place, if I want to cancel my contract, why do I have to proof to you that I am leaving the country? So if I am still staying in the country and decided to not use Salt anymore, I can't? In my opinion, this is an infringement of my privacy. Also, I have emailed them before and the hotlines they gave for me to call were all non-reachable. My advice is do not use Salt as they are just using ways to trap you inside.

I'm a tourist and it is impossible to have connection. I cannot pay parking with the app for example because salt is not working. I cannot navigate with mobile data, because my original provider Orange falls down in Switserland. Salt does give mobile data.

Automatic extension after the 24 month period without the rebate being continued. You technically need to quit your contract min. 61 days before it expires to avoid a whole month being added. The extra month will now be more than double the cost due to the rebate being cancelled. Best not to sign up with Salt in the first place.

Extremely disappointing experience – failed number transfer, incorrect communication from THEIR side and a CHF 1,500+ disputed bill!!!!!!!!!!!
My experience with Salt has been extremely disappointing and has left me with serious concerns about the way customer disputes are handled.
I signed up with Salt specifically because I required my existing telephone number to be transferred. The number transfer did not take place. Despite this, I was subsequently faced with charges for a service that did not provide me with what I had requested.
What has been particularly frustrating is the way Salt has handled the situation afterwards. I have contacted customer service several times since receiving the first invoice I disputed. I repeatedly tried to explain the situation and obtain clarification, but despite these efforts, I have still not received a clear and satisfactory explanation as to why the number transfer failed or why Salt considers the failure to have been my responsibility.

I agree with the other comments below. Salt does not treat its clients respectfully. Their website is not transparent (e.g. you cannot see your contract there), they call or SMS often to advertise their other services, and they use predatory tactics to prevent you from leaving, e.g. if you want to terminate before the end of your minimum period, you have to pay EVERYTHING you would have paid otherwise plus 199.95 chf. To find out which options I had for my contract when I wanted to cancel it, I had to call three different phone numbers. Be very careful accepting a contract over phone call (this was my mistake), especially one for 24 months. On the good sides, they had better internet coverage for me in Switzerland than e.g. Swisscom, and their customer service picked up quickly. However I do not recommend their service, as I find them deceptive.

Proactive company, really accomodating for mobile subscription. I can also recommend Salt TV which works really good. I am now a 16 years customer and never had any issue with this company.

A company that tries to scam you at every turn...

My mobile subscription is about to expire. They started calling me months in advance. I told them I do not want to continue with Salt. They keep on calling! Almost every other day I get a call from Salt. I very clearly communicated this is getting out of control and I do not want them to call me. But yet they keep on calling! This is harassment.

I have a lot to say about them, but I will say just that you should not collaborate with them if you want to have a peaceful life.

Absolute disaster of a customer service team, borderline fraudulent cancellation policy, and completely unusable TV service

Scammy, both overtly and not.
1. Before signing the contract, we asked the agent, whether Salt is active in the EU. He confirmed. Only when travelling in the Baltics and getting hit by daily charges we found out the plan did not include all EU members
2. 'Payment processing fee' when paying online. This was added about a year ago. They make it difficult to pay through other means, the fee is pure money grab. We have not yet encountered other Swiss companies doing that

We can send money from individual to individual free of charge using Twint but Salt charges just about CHF12 per year to use this feature. The only way around it is to have them automatically deduct the money from your account. This is on top of all the other valid reasons people have already given here as to why they get 1 star.

I have a salt home internet and during the outage of salt it stopped functioning since May 15th. After that I was asked to change the Fibre which didnt work- asked to change my box. Which happened in June 22nd. It was working- then I had to switch it to another cable- then again back to zero stopped working. Now I have to start from the beginning changing the cable. Today is July 4th since May I've been paying for salt home without internet- how irony is that. I ve been to 5 times to salt stores and spent over 2 months for this nonsense service.

Switched from Sunrise to Salt home. Worst. Decision. Ever!
No possibility to forward in a program you've already watched half of. So if you pause the program to go back to it later, it will often"forget" where you were, and you have to watch everything from the start once again. It's so incredibly bad and stupid that I'm flabbergasted. Stay away from Salt!
Curious interpretation of unlimited...
I was using my Salt account in France. Received an SMS : Data unlimited, SMS unlimited, so on so forth. Everything "unlimited". Got a day after a first message : "Please note that you are using a high volumeof roaming data. If your traffic continues your data roaming speed will be limited.".. and a 3 hours later : "Please note that data roaming speed was limited due to high volume of traffic used. You may buy data package that restore..."
Looks like false advertisement to me. I definitely don't recommend.

I have been a Salt customer for more than 10 years. Unfortunately, my recent experience has been very disappointing.
My contract was renewed automatically, and when I requested cancellation, I was charged around CHF 420 in early termination fees.
Although Salt later granted me a partial compensation, I am still disappointed with how my case was handled and with the lack of clarity regarding the automatic renewal process.
I recommend that customers carefully check the renewal and cancellation conditions before signing or renewing a contract with Salt.

Although our contract is expiring, I have troubles to terminate it. We have 3 numbers / contract in our family and we want to terminate the contract after using it for 2 years (full contract duration), but apparently it is a mission imposible. Also in the last few months we had hundreds of calls from Salt and dozens of house visits asking us to prolong the contract. Stay away from Salt please!
