No wait at the nice new Pisa airport rental hub which is 2 minutes walk away from the car. No hard sell on insurance nor fuss on return. We took photos and added some marks to the contract, which... See more

Please do not hire from this company, picked up our car from Bari Airport and flight was delayed summer peak season. We gave flight details when booking and yet incurred a 60 euro fine for being late. The lady was so rude saying these are the rules and that I was to inform her of the plane being late and that I was lucky she was there otherwise I would have had to wait until morning. On bringing the car back a minor scratch was on the car and an extra 500 euros was deducted from our credit card, hoping we get it back from our external insurance. Terrible customer service and a con. Never using them again disgusting rip off company and that’s why reviews are bad, you’ve been warned.
Everything was so easy and good 👍👍, thanks
It is our second time to rent a car from this company and each time the experience was very good. When we rented our car one week ago at Bergamo airport, we were met by Kristine, who was very polite, friendly and helpful. I certainly recommend to get a full insurance for peace of mind. Overall I would recommend this company.

Very poor experience – Italy Car Rent, Lamezia Terme, Calabria, Italy
After a long journey, I arrived to collect a car I had booked for 30 days. Their POS terminal could not read my perfectly valid Mastercard, which I have used countless times in Italy.
Instead of offering a reasonable alternative, I was effectively given the choice of buying their very expensive additional insurance or leaving without the car.
I ended up renting from Locauto instead. This took about two hours and cost me approximately DKK 3,000 extra because I had to rent a car on the spot rather than at a pre-booked online rate.
Italy Car Rent later confirmed that their POS terminal was unable to recognize my card, but still refused to address my additional costs.
Very stressful, unhelpful service and a disappointing way to treat a customer
I rented a car through Discover Cars, supplied by Italy Car Rent at Bari Airport (Fiat grande panda). During my rental, the car suffered a sudden software/mechanical breakdown that had nothing to do with my driving, leaving me stranded. I was forced to pay €150 out of pocket on the spot for a tow truck/roadside assistance just to clear their defective vehicle.Following their official workshop diagnosis, Italy Car Rent sent me an official email explicitly stating: "non è stata riscontrata alcuna anomalia meccanica a lei imputabile" (NO mechanical anomaly or fault is attributable to you) and they released my €900 deposit.Despite their official admission that the breakdown was entirely due to a pre-existing vehicle defect, Italy Car Rent and Discover Cars are never refunded my €150 tow truck fee.i have sent two emails to ask for the refund, nothing, they disappeared. Retaining my money for a breakdown they admitted was not my fault is an absolute fraud and a breach of European Consumer Law. I have already escalated this matter by filing an official fraud complaint with the Italian Antitrust Authority (AGCM) and I have initiated a formal chargeback dispute through my UK banking institution to forcefully recover my funds. Car rentals play on the fact that tourists do not persue the matter and lose the money without folowing up. Please report to the authority if this happens to you and also to your bank. Avoid Italy Car if you want to avoid being scammed!

Italy car rent is always my first and only choice in Cagliari. The office is straight outside arrivals hall and cars only a few steps outside the terminal. Never had a problem in more than 20 + rentals in the past few years.

Gentilissimo Team,

Dear Team,
Once again, I found Italy Car Rent to be extremely competitive in terms of pricing and impeccable in its service. My sincere compliments for the professionalism, courtesy, efficiency, and great attention to detail shown at every stage of the rental process. I particularly appreciated the care given to the customer from the moment of arrival, including the attention paid to monitoring the flight status and checking for any delays or changes to the arrival time. This is a reliable, serious, and first-class car rental company, which I recommend without any hesitation.

I made a reservation for 23 days. Our plan was to drive to Corsica and Sardinia. That is why we wanted to get a confirmation that we would be allowed to take car to those islands by ferry. I called them twice, waited in total for 60 minutes to get somebody answer my call and as well sent two e-mails early in the morning … but no answer. I decided to replan my journey and cancelled my reservation. I assume AVIS has no need to get customers and business.

I rented a car with Italy Car rent. We suffered from a flat tyre, managed to change it ourselves and called the breakdown number on the contract when we reached our hotel. We agreed with the breakdown company over WhatsApp that we did not need a call out (I'd take the car to a tyre repair shop the next day instead). I spoke to someone from Italy Car Hire as well.
I then had an email from Italy Car Rent the next day saying they were going to charge us 150 anyway.
Will not be using again and would not recommend.

the car I was given was in a very poor condition. the cleaning was not sufficient and the car was full of unrepaired scratches. However I had taken the very expensive insurance Italy Premium so I took no further notice of that. the back windshield wiper was broken and the hat rack as well. Furthermore the car was not full of petrol but this I unfortunately noticed too late to make a claim on the spot.

Worst experience. We had to wait 1.5 hours in boiling hot sun to pick up the car in Olbia, Sardinia. The whole process seemed very disorganised and understaffed.
To make matters worse, they eventually charged us for a small scratch that was already on the car but had not been documented. Unfortunately, I couldn’t prove that the damage was there when we picked it up.
I definitely cannot recommend booking a car with this company. I would strongly advise others to be very careful and thoroughly document the condition of the car before driving away.

We arrived in Rome on the 3rd of August and had an issue with our original booking company. We went straight to the next seat Italy Car Rent where Jessica helped us so much. Jessica went above and beyond to help us find a car that would suit our family of 4 with 4 large suitcases, even helping swap a couple of cars to find the best fit. Thank you Jessica for all your help.

strongly recommend avoiding Italy Car Rent. Be very careful.
When we picked up the car, we were given a dirty vehicle with a large number of scratches and existing damages. We pointed this out to the employee, and she told us to take photos of all the existing damage. We followed her instructions and took photos, as much as we could, considering that it was nighttime and the car was dirty.
When we returned the car, the employee found a tiny chip in the windscreen, approximately 1×1 mm, and claimed that it had not been there when we picked up the car. We were then told that €300 would be blocked from our card.
The most frustrating part is that we followed their instructions and photographed the car at pickup, but this still did not help us. It is practically impossible to notice such a tiny chip on a dirty windscreen at night. Yet somehow the employee immediately spotted it when we returned the car.
She even suggested that the damage could have been caused by hail, although there was no hail during our trip, we were at Lake Garda that day.
At this point, I honestly suspect that this may be part of their business model: provide a dirty vehicle, make it difficult to properly document every tiny existing defect, and then identify some small damage when the car is returned and charge the customer for it. I obviously cannot prove that this is their deliberate practice, but after what happened to us, this is the impression I was left with.
I strongly recommend avoiding Italy Car Rent. Even if you carefully photograph the car at pickup, as we did, it may still not protect you from being charged for a tiny defect that you could not reasonably have detected.
I will never rent a car from this company again.

We rented a car from Italycarrent for 12 days. Unfortunately our flight was delayed so as per the information on our voucher we advised them our flight was delayed by 5 hours and therefore we would be late for picking up our car. They informed us that the desk would be closed by then. We emailed them before our arranged pick up time explaining that because their desk was closed we would get a hotel for the night and pick the car up the next day. When we arrived the next day they said that they had no record of our reservation and we were a no show. Even though we had a booking reference number. They did not refund us and we had a to catch buses and trains all holiday. They were aware of our delay and our flight number before our arranged pick up time and were completely unhelpful and didn’t try to rectify it. They basically said the computer has no record of your rental because you came the morning after. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM

Please beware when using this company.Pisa Airport.
Charged as well as many others for damages that we did not cause. This was to an Opel Fronterra registration HB134TT for damage of a chip to the front bumper. .
On taking out the car I asked for copies of the previous damages to the vehicle which they declined to provide. They said it was up to me to spot all of the damages on a dirty car and take photos of them. Unfortunately despite all my efforts and much to their glee and profits I missed one. I do not want to see others charged for the same damage which i suspect will not be repaired and will catch others out in the future. I am sure staff are rewarded for this practice which leaves a very sour taste and experience.
I hope that Ryan Air look at the use of this company as one of their providers. I know that they will hide behind being an introducers to the service only. They do feel they have a duty of care to their customers.
