Avoid domain names.com.au

Went with this company 2 years ago as I knew little about registering a domain name and it looked to me like this company was the only way I could get my name. They charged $250/year.
I was paid up until October 2025, yet was sent an invoice on the 11/8/25 for 3 years registration, with the due date being the 12/8. I didn’t even see the email until today, when I noticed they had sent an updated email on the 13/8 adding a $99 late fee - the invoice even stated that the registration dates were October ‘25 - October ‘28.
It is hear impossible to contact someone, I put in a support ticket only to get a reply saying that my query was covered in their online support FAQs (it wasn’t). I tried to phone, it just pushes you back to the useless and misnamed ‘support page’.
Anyway I googled, found another company with excellent reviews, VentralP, and transferred my domain registration to another company - where I could actually do live chat with a helpful person, and it cost me $23 for the year.

I feel like a numpty for not looking into it earlier, but if they hadn’t tried to con me I probably, stupidly, would have just paid the invoice if it was sent with a reasonable period of notice and no ‘late fee’.
Avoid them like the plague. I wonder if they are owned by another company as when I searched, it showed that my domain name was owned by crazydomains.com.au - so avoided moving to them.

Terrible - STAY AWAY!

Extremely rude, aggressive, dismissive and unethical. The products are ineffective and there is virtually no support. Only way to contact is via email and if you're lucky enough to receive a response - it will be aggressive, rude and unhelpful. They don't care.

Go elsewhere.

Use a different domain registrar

I have had my domain with this company for 9 years and it's been the worst customer experience during that time. The reason I've stayed is because I haven't felt confident to change. The billing process is awful, with no notifications that they will charge, sending an invoice with same day payment, they will then send threatening emails if they can't charge despite no warnings. If you do manage to pay, you receive an automated "payment failed" message, which prompts you to pay again. If you wait a few minutes you will receive an email to notify you that your payment has been successful. 🤔
God help you if you ever need technical support. Incredibly hard to find how to contact anyone, it's all done via email, and you are made to feel it's your fault.
Will be transferring my domain ASAP

The worst product

The worst product, service and experience. It's near impossible to get in contact with customer support and when you do they are rude and dismissive, refuse to help.

A contact number only to go through the menus to be directed back to the website.

The products and service will cause nothing but misery and headaches with minimal, outdated FAQs.

Pay the extra bucks and go to a reputable provider with contactable customer service team via phone.

I wouldn't even give one star. STAY AWAY
