I was looking for a sailboat with a skipper on very short notice—with only two days’ lead time-. I contacted Borrowaboat and received an immediate response. They were able to offer me a suitable boat and send me a list of available skippers. Everything was arranged within the same day. Just been advised borrow a boat didn’t pay the funds I sent then to the boat company so our booking was cancelled ages ago. Just found out do not book with these guys they are obviously going bust and not answering phones

Our team is on it now to get that confirmed and paid so it's locked in properly this time. The delay came down to a technical issue on our end affecting a batch of reservations, yours included, and we're working through it directly with the affected clients to offer solutions.
Just to flag, the dispute you initiated with your bank has added some extra steps on our end accounting wise, which is slowing things down a bit, but our team is still on it to get the new vessel confirmed.

No Resolution!
Things started off well initially with Borrow A Boat, but after experiencing significant issues on our rental through Dream Yacht (backflowing toilets, no AC in the summer in the Caribbean, spoiled food from the refrigerator not working, shower pump malfunctions, unsafe cooktops), we were told that we needed to go through Borrow A Boat for resolution. We reached out upon our return and have yet to receive a resolution. After receiving no response Adjela told us to allow them some time to come up with an appropriate resolutoon. 2 more weeks have passed with no update, response, or word. It has now been over a month since we started our charter rental. Do better!

A month with no update on issues like these is not okay and we're sorry you've had to chase this down. We work with some of the best operators out there, but when issues with the boat itself occur, like in your case, the claim has to go through the operator together with their base manager before a resolution can be agreed. That part isn't something we can decide alone or we partake in, but it doesn't mean we've dropped it.
We're currently reviewing this directly with the Dream Yacht Charter base where the charter took place and have been pushing for a faster answer. We'll make sure you hear something concrete soon.

Honestly don’t bother with this company
Thankfully I checked with the charter we were all sorted three days before our holiday. We found out that nothing had been confirmed and in fact our booking was cancelled.
Trying to sort independently, we then found out that the boat we wanted to charter wasn’t in the agreed marina. Which meant we had to pay €150 transfer (70€ was compensated, €80 we had to pay) fee to get picked up from our hotel, drive over an hour to get to our charter. This also meant we missed out on an hour of our charter time!
To top it off after taking it all into my own hands, direct with the charter, I then only got a text saying I had a confirmation on the day we were already on the charter. This also wasn’t true, no email was sent, no confirmation, not even an apology.
Really not happy with the service and lack of actual compensation or apology. If I hadn’t checked we would’ve been finding out it wasn’t booked on the day.
So definitely would NOT recommend and I suggest going straight to the charters as they are reliable and super helpful.

We're really sorry your holiday started this way. This is not the experience we aim to offer and we understand how frustrating it must have been to deal with this just days before your trip.
To give a clearer picture of what happened: your booking request was confirmed on the day you booked and our system sent out all the relevant notifications to both you and the charter operator automatically, as it does with every reservation. Unfortunately, we have no way of controlling whether those emails land in an inbox or get filtered elsewhere, but on our end everything went out as it should have to the registered users that made the reservation.
On the marina issue, we do want to be transparent: it is the boat operator's responsibility under our terms and conditions to keep their listings up to date, including location details. This absolutely should not have caused you extra cost and inconvenience and we're genuinely sorry it did. Our Partner Success team will be reviewing the boat operator's profile and support them in updating their online offers.
What we can say is that our team is here to support both customers and operators throughout the whole process, before and after booking. If things weren't handled as well as they should have been in this case, we want to make that right. Once the marina discrepancy came to light after the booking was accepted, our team got to work looking for options to get you there without too much disruption. A few alternatives were explored and two agents supported you in the process. While we couldn't land on one that worked for everyone at the time, we remained involved throughout and ultimately contributed €70 toward the transfer cost, which was agreed with you directly.
We'd like to offer you a voucher for the remaining amount you paid that can be used for a future booking. A member of our team will be in touch directly to sort this out.
