Super easy, super fast! Ideal for English-speaking customers

Super easy, fast application process. I started the process on Friday evening and was able to go through the complete application in a reasonable time (matter of hours, including the video identity verification process), received approval within 24 hours, and received my physical card within 3 business days (Wednesday).

I chose Hanseatic Bank via awa7 because the app is available in English. The travel insurance add-on is a nice benefit, and the reason I originally chose a competitor product from the nordics that has this included for free - but their app is not able to be changed to English on Android devices. When it comes to finances, there must be certainty - so this was enough of a dealbreaker for me!

Only feedback to awa7 would be to allow the language to be selected in the application process, so all e-mail communications and important instructions are also provided in English (understood that the language of the legal docs, i.e. contract, need to be in German!).

By the way, I would have gone with Hanseatic directly but (1) there was a glitch in the mobile version of their application where it was not possible to select the correct date. The awa7 application did not have this error [although to be fair, neither did on desktop], and (2) I happened to find a sign-up bonus with awa7.

Ultimately I am happy with my decision as awa7 was super fast (so no disadvantage vs. going "direct" with Hanseatic) and in my opinion the physical card is much more attractive-looking. The tree-planting initiative does not harm either :)

I researched quite a lot so I can only hope the user reports of solid support (available in both German and English) are correct - I will update my review if this is not the case.

Not recommended for young travelers

I can not recommend this credit card for young travelers. It's a bit of a scam. First they only give a credit limit of 500€ and a lot of young travelers do not work during their travels so they will not be granted more then 500€. But if you travel you definitely need more then 500€ a month to survive. Second, it does not work on a lot of ATMs in southeast Asia. Luckily we had a different credit card as well because if you only rely on this company, it would be bad.
