What made it a project that I could do myself is that everything but the box beams was pre cut and partially assembled. The step by step instructions left very little guesswork. I think almost anyon... See more

Ordering was easy, shipping took a little longer than originally expected, but wasn't an issue. The materials were well packed and protected, assembly was easy. I was able to assemble a 6' x 20' deck myself in a day. Highly recommended.

The company communicated well there was some confusion not all pieces were marked well . and some were backwards. not all parts were correct. we had to cut a couple to fit. ran out of screws by about 20 .. don't know what to do with he left over pieces of wood but I will find something to do with them.

great product well put together will definitely refer you to other people and I might buy an extension another 12 x 12 platform to go off the one I have. Thank you so much for a great product.

Estes shipping did not have correct phone number, which caused an unnecessary one week delay. Overall time from order to actual delivery was 6 weeks. Shipment was missing the main structural support beams and due to time constraints caused by late shipment it was necessary to purchase pressure treated 4x6 lumber to build up beams. According to instructions, angle bracket hardware for joists should have been mounted to joists. Instead it was completely missing. I'm still waiting on a supposed refund for 4x6 and hardware purchase which if I ever recieve it, by no means justifies the units price. Originally ordered kit early in 3rd week of June. Kit wasn't at my residence until late July. This whole debacle was actually a shame. This idea of shipping a fully engineered deck design, complete with ALL hardware is novel and should be capable of success if and only if the product surpasses expectations. It obviously failed miserably on that account.
Everything was as promised with the quality and ease of putting pieces together. The delivery personnel were very courteous and professional.

Every board clearly marked for quick assembly. Fitment was good, impressed with strength of deck.
Overall appearance was excellent.

I’m just the person to prove this product is foolproof.
Very easy to follow and build.
The longest part of the process is screwing the boards down.
I highly recommend using A-DIY. They are easy to work with and they use a great carrier in Estes.

Bad materials quality - no matching the instructions - deck is slightly smaller than I bought - wood pieces do not match the assembly, i had to improvise some pieces - screws bending so easily. Not worth the price.
The instructions were not accurate and were all based on a wood deck not a composite deck.
The deck is designed and the instructions are for a deck placed out in an open space not up against another structure.
The composite deck boards did not fit in the wood structure so the deck boards had to be cut.
The deck clips were not the correct size to enable the deck boards to fit in the structure so we had to buy other deck clips.
The delivery of the deck took way more time than what they tell you when you purchase the deck.
The deck boards materials are good quality and the concept of having the wood structure already cut was a good concept.
Overall I would not recommend this product to others.
Quality, PROFESSIONAL service, Quality materials...I even had extra pieces 👏 👌...PROFESSIONAL and timely delivery

I'm going to be totally honest. The end result makes me so happy. My deck is beautiful and sturdy but the installation was frustrating.
Some of the 1 star reviews highlighting manufacturing issues I also experienced...the notches were not level, a warped joist and missing or wrong pieces. It was frustrating but customer service was helpful in resolving. A shout out and big appreciation to Jay. Once she escalated my problems to upper management, they were resolved and I was a very happy customer. When a business explodes like A-DIY did, some manufacturing oversight gets lost. They promised they were going to do better.
Their product is fabulous. My husband and I did not kill each other during installation so that is a big plus. I gave 4 stars because of the initial frustration. The finished deck is perfect.

Directions were good with the addition of the app. Everything lined up and it looks great. Quality is good.
PRO TIP: Have your extra drill battery ready to rock for the BAZILLION screws.

The deck materials were delivered and there was no damage. Nice looking boards and easy to assemble. A little disappointed that 6 divider boards were missing and had to wait 2 weeks to get them to finish assembly, but pleased nonetheless.

My initial experience was good, and I was excitedly telling everyone around me about this option.
But then.
- The delivery - of three crates totaling 2800lbs - didn’t arrive during the window I was told. Then, it was delivered without warning two days later. Thankfully a neighbor was home to sign for it.
- Sizing of the deck boards on one kit didn’t match with the picture frame board. I’ll have to modify to fit let alone have some minor spacing for airflow.
- All joists on my 12x16 deck kit were cut wrong, with the notch for connecting with the outside beam in the wrong spot. Because I’d used the company’s provided engineering plans to obtain my local permit, have concrete piers poured, and secure posts for the slope, adjusting to this error wasn’t an option. It required breaking out my jigsaw and extending the notch on 32 boards. While I definitely understand machining errors can happen, it’s the company’s response that was the biggest problem. I was asked multiple times whether I was just mixing up joists from one kit to the other (though the shape of them isn’t even the same, so that made no sense), then questioned on whether I was measuring accurately. Basically, at no point was there accountability of just “we made a mistake, let us make that right.” Which means I went from spreading the good word about what they provide to warning people. By the time I did all that, I honestly could’ve just built my own. Because I was trying to have my posts at the exact right spot for their layout (only for it to be a mismatch) it was far more precarious than if I had just built up and lined cuts up as I went.

Overall the project came together but I did a lot of research on building decks before building this deck and I was looking for areas where it said to level the foundation or make sure the whole project was square before moving from one step to another but I felt the directions lacked those caveats. I built the deck for about 2 hours a day after work in the hot sun and between heat exhaustion, heavy beams, and just being a little sick it took about 10 hours or would have if not taking the occasional day off

I got a great quality deck kit at a great price. Assembly and directions were easily to follow.
