Serious Problem With Reimbursement
Unfortunately, I am extremely disappointed with Generali Germany.
Despite having a valid insurance policy, my dental treatment 2 invoices totaling €757 have still not been reimbursed. I have submitted all the required documents several times and followed up politely on multiple occasions. Instead of receiving fair and timely processing, I have been left without a satisfactory solution for months.
What is particularly disappointing is that not only the complaints department, but apparently also customer service and even letters addressed to the Executive Board remain unanswered. I honestly cannot understand what has been happening at Generali Germany since the beginning of 2025. Instead of reducing bureaucracy, it seems to have become even worse. Email communication has largely been replaced by the old-fashioned postal system again. The mobile app is also unreliable – you upload documents and they remain "under review" for weeks without any progress or updates.
From my perspective, this gives the impression that Generali is experiencing serious internal organizational problems. Unfortunately, it is the customers who suffer the consequences. Yet it is the customers who keep Generali in business.
I therefore ask Generali to finally reimburse my outstanding €757, which has remained unpaid since January 2026. This unnecessary delay has put me in a very difficult financial and personal situation. As customers, we are left in an embarrassing position in front of our doctors, even though we have done everything required of us. Why should we have to face this?
At the same time, Generali has no problem collecting my monthly insurance premiums from my bank account on time. I have never delayed a single payment, yet Generali has refused to reimburse my legitimate claim for more than seven months.
I simply do not understand why such a straightforward case has been escalated to the Insurance Ombudsman and may even end up in court. A solution-oriented approach and genuine customer service seem to be completely missing.

Dear Generali Customer Satisfaction Team,
I have to point out that I feel we are once again going in circles and repeating the same arguments.
The way this matter is being handled creates the impression that Generali always assumes that it is acting correctly and transparently, while the customer is automatically treated as being responsible for the problem. In my case, this is simply not acceptable.
Let me remind you of a very specific point: one of your employees asked us to provide a Leistungsauskunft from our statutory health insurance provider, BKK Linde. We obtained this information directly from BKK Linde and provided Generali with the complete documentation and history requested.
So I have a very simple question: what more can we possibly provide from BKK Linde?
Furthermore, we have already given Generali full authorization to contact our statutory health insurance provider, BKK Linde, directly, make any necessary inquiries, and obtain any additional information you may require. We have therefore not only provided all documents available to us, but have also given Generali the opportunity to obtain any further information directly from BKK Linde.
What more are we, as customers, supposed to do?
Despite all of this, we are still being told that we have supposedly failed to provide all the necessary information. I strongly disagree with this representation of the situation.
If necessary, I am prepared to provide the relevant evidence here on Trustpilot, including the documents we have submitted, our correspondence with Generali, the communication with your employees, and the letters and inquiries that have remained unanswered. I can make the entire history of this matter transparent here on this platform, together with the supporting documentation, so that the situation can be assessed based on the actual facts rather than repeated standard statements.
I believe this would be much more constructive than simply sending another standard response stating that Generali is unable to identify or investigate my case.
I therefore ask Generali to stop repeating the same request and instead review the complete history of my case, including the documents already submitted and the authorization we have provided to contact BKK Linde directly.
I am still expecting a clear explanation and, most importantly, the reimbursement of the outstanding €757.
I kindly ask you to reimburse my outstanding €757 and, after that, I will terminate all of my insurance policies with Generali and cancel my contracts with you.
