I purchased a Kidde P4010ACSCO hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide alarm with a 10-year sealed battery from Home Depot in April 2022 for about $79. In June 2026, the alarm began going into false alarm mode approximately every 154 minutes, making it completely unreliable.

What has been even more disappointing than the product itself is Kidde's customer service. Home Depot directed me to the manufacturer because the unit is covered by a 10-year warranty. After three emails, one phone call, and an online chat, I still have no replacement and no meaningful resolution.

A smoke detector is a life safety device. If it constantly false alarms, people begin to ignore it or disconnect it, defeating its entire purpose.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product or Kidde's warranty support. I expected a 10-year alarm to last much longer than four years and for the manufacturer to stand behind its warranty. Instead, I'm left with a $79 alarm that is unusable and a company that has not honored my expectations for customer service.

I will not be purchasing Kidde products again.

Columbia Bank was great- Umpqua has ruined it. They got hacked, so my debit card was used fraudulently . 90 minutes on phone hold, a trip to 3 separate branches because of equipment (printer ) failures and 2 hours away from work finally got it taken care of.
