The greed machine at Done Deal knows no bounds

The greed machine at Done Deal knows no bounds, it would seem.
Motoring ads are far too expensive, particularly for budget cars. I often let the ad run for a fortnight on Marketplace and only use Done Deal as a last resort if my item is unsold.
I also find myself unable to use the internal messaging. If a prospective buyer low balls you and you decline then the system will allow them to leave a rating and it could be based on sour grapes.
I also feel that there should be no visible opinion by the site around any of the information within my ad, eg a remark by Done Deal indicating mileage is considered high. If I am paying these rates then let the buyer decide for themselves how they feel about mileage. The system has zero credibility when 167k KM is considered 'Same as Average' mileage on a twenty year old car.
Years ago, Buy & Sell got greedy, transferring customers who were entitled to place free ads over to their sales dept for paid ads in an attempt to increase revenue and we all know how that went.
I look forward to the day when Done Deal gets theirs, I am certain that it will be very satisfying.

Thanks for taking the time to share all of this — there's a lot of valid feedback here and we appreciate it.

On pricing, fees represent a small percentage of your item's value and help you reach Ireland's largest car-buying audience. With 3M+ monthly users and 1,000+ cars sold daily, listings on DoneDeal sell faster and for more — so the value is real.

Your points on the rating system and mileage indicators are fair and we'll make sure they get to the right team.

If you'd like to discuss anything further, we're at hello@donedeal.ie.

Highly Recommended

I absolutely cannot rate these guys highly enough. Three times I was back & forth to arrange my purchase that I needed same day at short notice and three different members of staff really got on board, brainstorming for a solution to make it happen, particularly Steve. He arranged for a collection outside of opening hours and made my 8yo son very happy indeed as he can now go see the new Mandalorian movie in style. In future, this is where I'll be coming for my son's costumes and I have no hesitation recommending The Costume Shop to whoever is reading these reviews.
Seriously, in a world where staff & Customer Care in general are indifferent when it comes to assisting, it is refreshing to receive this level of service.
Five stars all the way.
Thank you.

DREADFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.

DREADFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I placed an order for a full set of inks and opted for the 123ink own brand alternative. This was a big mistake. I received 2x Cyan and no Yellow cartridge which 123ink dispatched when I made them aware of the error.
Once I had the correct full set, I fitted them to the printer. The Black XL cartridge leaked everywhere and destroyed a brand new shirt. The Yellow cartridge also leaked and the Cyan & Magenta cartridges had no communication with the printer. Again I contacted Customer Service to request a full refund as these items were not of merchantable quality and no good to me.
Initially they wanted the order returned with DPD, then they said this wasn't necessary. I had to chase them again and again for the refund to be processed when finally Kain said he had processed it but remained aloof and avoided answering my question on whether it was a full refund. When the refund arrived, it was a partial refund only and now I am eight calls deep with Customer Service and nobody seems interested in making this right. There was one order placed, it should be simple. Refund the order total and stop messing your customers around.
I have since purchased genuine HP ink set from eBay cheaper than the price that 123ink offer and I will never shop with these guys again.
I find myself completely unable to recommend 123ink and I will tell everyone who will listen and even some who won't about how badly they treat their customers from my experience.
What good is Customer Care when they just don't care?
123ink - Do better.

Hi Ray, we’re truly sorry for the frustration caused by the leaking cartridges and the refund mix-up. There was human error on our side when processing the refund for the 5-pack, which has since been rectified and completed in full from our end. Since you'd already dealt with multiple issues with the cartridges, we didn't want to add to your frustration by requiring a collection, which is why we advised they didn't need to be returned given everything you'd been through. We are continuously working to improve our customer experience and will be investigating your query further.

'No delivery service available'... ???

I did my absolute best for over a week to give Zooplus.ie my money when shopping for a Dog Crate (Ferplast) at €180. Unfortunately the site kept showing 'No delivery service available'. Emailing Customer support is a waste of time, it will get you nowhere. I can only summise that because GLS are no longer in business, there is no delivery. I find it very poor management that an alternative arrangement has not been made with another company. In the end I had to purchase from another website and went with a Savic crate instead.

Outstanding.

Outstanding, all the way. The girls in Jonesborough are very obliging and on top of their game, as always. I cannot recommend this service enough. It has been a real solution for me, particularly with my eBay and other UK purchases.

Review of GoCar

You Never Get a Second Chance to Make a First Impression.

First booking, I needed a van and booked for 12pm in M1 Retail Park. True to form I got there ridiculously early to locate the vehicle. As my booking time drew closer I checked the 'Locate My Vehicle' on the app a number of times only to be told that the previous owner had not returned it yet. 12pm came and went then the map showed the van's location as Bettystown so I contacted support on the in-app chat only to be told that the booking had been moved to Bettystown. They could not or would not give me a reason that would explain why I was not made aware of this change and expected me to go 30mins down the road for the vehicle. This was a non runner as recycle centre closes at 1pm and that would have been my first stop followed by a light removal from a storage unit. I had people on hand, waiting to assist and all my plans went out the window. I only received the same old, generic ramblings from the support agent, it seems to be all that they are programmed with. I asked for the booking to be cancelled, a refund to be processed and advised that I would be closing / deleting my account and shouting from the mountain tops about this experience. Absolutely Never Again! I sincerely regret not looking at the reviews here prior to booking, thinking that GoCar was a solution for me. They were not.

Review of Currys PC World IE

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Buyer Beware. No value on You, the customer!

This is a real case of 'Buyer Beware'
We bought a higher end Canon cooker with dual oven and within the warranty period the grill section failed to work. I contacted Currys who issued a reference number for the repair job and I was told I would receive a call back which I never got. After two weeks I contacted them again with the reference, the staff were extremely helpful and couldn't be faulted until they transfer you to the individuals who carry out the repairs. This is a 'dead end', on hold for up to forty five minutes at a time at which point, in each instance the call was deliberately disconnected. There were five calls placed that day in total. It was seemingly impossible to pursue a repair so I issued proceedings through the Small Claims Court. Rather than offering any sort of settlement or recourse to their customers they have their solicitors berate you, they claimed there were no records of the telephone calls, they disputed the fault on the cooker and they also sought an engineers report on same. Owing to poor health I have found that I need to pick my battles wisely so I decided not to take it any further and just absorb the loss. I have no doubt that Currys will see this as a win on their part but we know better. This review is just the beginning, I will endeavour to educate the spending public that their money is better spent with a company who know the value of the customer, It would seem that this is not an isolated incident, I regret not consulting the reviews of Currys prior to buying. This is an error that I will not be repeating. Do yourself a favour and buy from a company who value your custom.
