Review of Booking.com

Literally rented me a fake apartment

Literally rented me a fake apartment. Went to check in, got a creepy message to say "apartment not available". Contacted booking.com and got a refund with a $15 sorry voucher. Naturally to book an equivalent hotel on the day cost 2.5x what I paid for the fake apartment. DON'T RISK GETTING CAUGHT OUT! Imagine being in an unfamiliar city and essentially homeless after paying hundreds of dollars!!! $15 voucher was SO insulting for being rented a fake apartment.

DON'T trust them. Just because they're a big company doesn't mean they're a good company.

Super fast postage & awesome quality

Super fast postage (my order hit the mail the same day), very high quality product. Ordered the gas pipes for my split system. High quality, pre-insulated with everything ready to go and crazy competitive prices. I'll def shop with them again.

FAST, great quality, perfect service.

They had my parts in the mail just a few hours after my order. Had my heavy bearings delivered to Darwin in less than a week! Awesome company, great service and they really do that they say. Not usually one for ranting on about a company, but these guys deserve it. Well done.

Review of Grindr

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It's the end of Grindr

It's the end of Grindr. Just like nobody thought Facebook would die, here we are.

* Invasive adverts that lock up your phone, and auto-navigate your browser to virus sites. (which shouldn't be allowed by Google/Android).

* Bait and switch is the norm with their features - sign up for a CRAZY priced subscription just to find they changed the rules and now you need to pay extra for previously included features. This is illegal, so I'm waiting for someone to launch a consumer law challenge.

* The app is made on the cheap, likely by inexperienced programmers in Bangalore, so it doesn't send messages unless you open and close it about 7 times per message, it crashes constantly, photos don't work, blocking doesn't work (serious safety threat, probably needs authorities involved)

* Membership pricing is absolutely hilarious. They rely on selling a product (free users) to subscribers, but forget free users won't stick around if they can't even use the app.

It's dying already, and other apps have taken over in various locations. Just a matter of time before the options in your area aren't on Grindr.

Can't believe they skipped marketing 101.

Review of Avis

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

In a bad situation - Avis was brilliant

Several years ago - I had an accident in a hire car from Avis (hit an animal). I was concerned for the vehicle (as the radiator was leaking, and didn't want to drive it for fear of overheating then damaging the motor.

Contacted the Avis number, and a chap named 'Josh' assisted me. Avis wasn't worried about the car, their only concern was how I was, and how I'd get home. They offered to send a taxi to pick me up and drop me at my destination for no charge, and were insistent on making sure I got home safe. This made the whole experience totally different to what I was expecting.

10/10 for their service during a difficult time. Most people won't get into an accident, fortunately, but I can attest that they put the customer first if it happens.

I've never used a different hire car company as a result.

Insecure, clumsy and broken interface

Website is broken most of the time. Logs you out (regardless of browser or operating system) every few minutes. You'll literally lose money by not being able to complete trades due to their horrible website.

They get hacked constantly (also due to the low quality website), and then lock up withdrawals and deposits for certain coins. I had my Power Ledger locked on their exchange (everyone did) for over 6 months. That's just how bad their security and website is.

TLDR;

* Website has random errors which pop up, some ask you to 'contact system administrator'
* Website logs you out every few minutes whilst you're trading
* Interface is clumsy and spams you whilst you use it, even when you click not to be spammed.
* Site often crashes/lags, which is costly for trades
* Exchange frequently gets hacked and your money gets locked up, for 6 months or more at a time.

There are plenty of other exchanges which wont lock up your currencies whenever they get hacked, and which have websites and interfaces that work properly and wont cost you money.

Review of Boost Mobile

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

CRAZY amount of data, great network speeds

CRAZY amount of data for a low price using Telstra's infrastructure. I live in a built up area, and still manage 100mb a second. Good value prepaid plans (data and free international calling etc.), and the best coverage in Australia (via Telstra).

Beware other providers who give you huge amounts of data with terrible network speeds (which makes the data useless). Boost is not like that - it's brilliant value.

Cruisy Website - good prices

Decent, clean and efficient fast site to book on. Somehow often a heap cheaper than the rest. Given that most only submit a review when they want to complain, the high rating these guys have is astounding. Imagine how many others must be satisfied?

Classic credit card scam

Geekhoodies is a classic scam. Pretend order details, no products, just a credit card scam. These people should be in prison.

Follow it up - and you're told the owners changed. Classic lazy credit card scam.

Beware.
