Meat delivery to Spain
I seriously miss good quality lamb here in Spain as their skinny things are like a cross between goats and sheep. I had read some excellent reviews about Campbells and decided to give it a go. In hindsight, I should have waited until winter. The meat arrived last week packaged in a polystyrene cool box with plenty of ice packs. However, as soon as I opened the cool box, the awful smell hit me! Somewhere along the line, the courier must have not had this in a refrigerated truck as the plastic seal wrap that the boneless leg of lamb was in had blown and split and everything in the box was covered in smelly lamb juice. Every pack of meat was so warm it felt like it had been partially cooked and I had to throw away the whole order. I realise that this is not the fault of Campbells but of the couriers somewhere along the way but I can't afford to spend over €100 on something to throw it away within minutes of receiving it.
UPDATE - Campbells contacted me and advised that they would re-send my order free of charge. The order arrived last week and I have to say that the beef was lovely, the boneless leg of lamb was absolutely gorgeous but the Pastrami was to die for - so delicious. I know that the original problem was caused by the courier but the service I have received from Campbells has been brilliant and I would not hesitate to use them again. I'm already thinking about my Christmas meat - the carvery rib of beef looks very tempting! I have upgraded the review to 5 star as in my opinion Campbells have gone above and beyond to sort out my initial problem. Thank you.
