Some chapters are harder to close because they shape who we are. Looking back, I see defining moments from the past ten years and carry them with deep gratitude. Yet only change opens the door to what comes next. After many demanding and wonderful years at Microsoft, I have decided to take on a new, international role outside the company. Writing these words feels exciting and difficult. Above all, I am grateful for the trust of our customers, partners and public institutions - and for the colleagues who walked this journey with me. Together, we accelerated Austria’s digital transformation, strengthened digital skills and opened new opportunities. I am proud of what we achieved: Strong growth, a culture of compliance and integrity, and partnerships built on trust. At the heart of this progress is one of Austria’s strongest partner ecosystems - more than 4,000 companies turning our platform into solutions, jobs and opportunity. Joint initiatives extended that impact. For me personally Microsoft has never simply operated in Austria. We live here. With our partners, we built "digital coalitions" that connected sectors, scaled initiatives and made “Make tomorrow possible today” real. Few opportunities felt as personal as leading Microsoft Austria as an Austrian. Working across diverse international teams was equally rewarding. I am especially grateful to have contributed to Microsoft’s cultural transformation: A place where people can thrive, speak up and bring forward ideas - rooted in respect, strong values and collaboration. Seeing people find their voice and lift one another was among the most meaningful parts of this journey. Sometimes leadership reminds me of chess: Tactics and bold moves matter. But even the best game loses meaning if people no longer enjoy being at the board. One of the things I appreciated most about Microsoft was that high performance and fun were never opposites. Difficult moves were made with trust, courage and often with a smile. I am pleased that Joachim Franz will take over as Country Manager for Microsoft Austria. He brings deep industry experience, customer focus and a passion for turning innovation into impact. I know he will bring his own energy and signature to the next chapter. I remain deeply thankful for partnerships that became friendships and moments I will never forget - from opening the Austria Data Center Region to seeing customers, partners and colleagues achieve what once seemed impossible. Most of all, I am thankful for you: Those who trusted me, challenged me and helped me grow. I tried every day to help people feel seen, supported and energized to achieve extraordinary things - for Microsoft and above all for our customers and partners. Achievements fade and milestones become memories. But how we made one another feel endures. I leave this chapter with a full heart, carrying your trust, courage and laughter with me. Energie, Digitalisierung und Resilienz im Fokus Spannende Tage beim Österreichs Energie Kongress 2026 liegen hinter uns. Gemeinsam mit Microsoft durften wir als Aussteller zahlreiche Gespräche mit Vertretern der österreichischen Energiewirtschaft führen und aktuelle Herausforderungen sowie Zukunftsthemen der Branche diskutieren. Besonders präsent waren dabei Themen rund um Cyber Security und den Schutz kritischer Infrastrukturen. Digitalisierung, KI, regulatorische Anforderungen und die wachsende Bedrohungslage machen Sicherheit zu einem strategischen Kernthema für Energieversorger - und uns als Avanade. Ebenso wichtig bleiben die Themen Kundenservice und Field Service Transformation. Energieunternehmen stehen vor der Herausforderung, steigende Kundenerwartungen zu erfüllen und gleichzeitig Prozesse effizienter zu gestalten. Moderne Plattformen, intelligente Automatisierung und integrierte Serviceprozesse spielen dabei eine entscheidende Rolle. Dazu fand zeitglich die CXDIGITAL 2026: Customer Experience trifft Innovation in Wien in der Marx-Halle statt. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt vieler Gespräche bei beiden Veranstaltungen war die Frage, wie AI und Copilot-Technologien sinnvoll und sicher eingesetzt werden können, um Mitarbeitende zu unterstützen, Prozesse zu optimieren und nachhaltigen Mehrwert zu schaffen. Wir nehmen viele interessante Impulse mit und freuen uns darauf, die Zukunft der Energiewirtschaft gemeinsam weiterzugestalten. Frontier in Motion - and it really was. Last Thursday we spent the afternoon at NTT DATA Europe & Latam Portugal for Frontier in Motion: Orchestrating Co-Sell, Accelerating Growth - closing our FY26 chapter and signing off the FY27 plan on the same day. This is what a partnership looks like when trust has been earned over years: no warm-up, no translation layer, just two teams who (regularly) know how to finish each other's sentences. We went straight from strategy to discuss how to turn our joint ambition into reality. A special thank you to the incredible teams from Microsoft and NTT DATA who invested their energy, expertise, and passion to make this event a success. Today marks my last day at Microsoft. The past 4.5 years have been an exceptional chapter — working with talented, driven and genuinely brilliant colleagues has been a privilege. Leading the Partner Business in Ireland has been one of the highlights of my career. The capability across the Irish ecosystem is extraordinary, and partnering together as we entered the new AI era has been a defining experience. A huge call‑out to the Irish Partner Team — your commitment to customers and partners is unmatched, and the talent in this group is exceptional. What we delivered together makes me incredibly proud. I also want to recognise the amazing female leaders who shaped my journey: Catherine Doyle Anne Sheehan Martina Naughton Alison Say. Your strength, passion and standards pushed me to grow every single day. And Martina Naughton — what a team we built. You’re an exceptional leader, and you’ve left a lasting imprint on me. I’m grateful as well to mentors outside Microsoft, especially Aisling Curtis whose guidance and support have meant a great deal to me. Although I had no plans to move on at this time, an incredible opportunity has come along: I’m excited to share that I’ll be leading the Enterprise Sales Organisation in the Republic of Ireland for eir Business. The potential for eir Business to support customers in this new AI era is enormous, and I’m energised by what we can achieve together. Thank you to Susan Brady for this incredible opportunity. Kleiner Lifehack mit Microsoft Cowork 🚀 Zur Abwechslung einmal ein privates Beispiel, das aber ziemlich gut zeigt, wie KI ganz nebenbei Zeit sparen kann. Nach dem ersten Elternabend im neuen Schuljahr lag bei uns wieder der klassische Stapel an Informationen auf dem Tisch: Ausflüge, Elternsprechtage, Sportveranstaltungen, besondere Hinweise und natürlich jede Menge Termine. Früher hätte das bedeutet: Kalender öffnen, Termin für Termin abtippen, meine Frau einladen, Farben vergeben und hoffen, dass nichts vergessen wird. Diesmal habe ich einfach am Handy ein Foto der Terminliste gemacht und in Cowork in M365 Copilot hochgeladen. Mein Prompt: "Lies die Termine aus, erstelle dafür private Kalendereinträge, lade Cornelia ein und markiere die Termine orange." Während wir entspannt zu Abend gegessen haben, hat Cowork die Termine erkannt, die Einträge erstellt, die Einladung verschickt und alles korrekt kategorisiert. Verändert das die Welt? Naaaaaa Aber genau das sind die Momente, die so schön zeigen, wie KI so nebenbei mein Leben erleichtet. Nach vielen Jahren im österreichischen IT Channel freue ich mich, mein strategisches Verständnis des Marktes und meinen partnerschaftlichen, kundenorientierten Führungsstil in dieser neuen Rolle einzubringen. Dabei liegt mir besonders am Herzen, die bewährte Lenovo Channel-Strategie gemeinsam mit unseren Partnern und Distributoren kontinuierlich weiterzuführen und die enge Zusammenarbeit mit ihnen zu vertiefen.
