Summary

Documents the agent runtime architecture and adds the repository metadata needed by the project’s agent tooling.

docs/architecture/index.md describes the major layers and their boundaries: canonical values and ledger facts, projections, chatlog and Turn ownership, Run state, Loop decisions, executor effects, workers, reconciliation, session ownership, storage adapters, and application topology. The document emphasizes which layer owns each fact and where observations such as progress and settlement notices stop being authoritative. It also records the recovery path across owner, executor, and worker failures so the stable EffectID and durable stores can be understood as one protocol rather than as implementation details.

The streaming documentation receives a small update to align its terminology with the runtime’s provisional progress and committed-event model. .pi/subagents.json adds the repository’s configured subagent metadata, and .gitignore updates local tooling exclusions.

The documentation is intentionally descriptive: it does not change runtime interfaces, projection behavior, or deployment configuration. Its purpose is to make the stack’s event/projection boundaries, data ownership, and failure invariants discoverable before readers work through the individual packages and tests.

Scope

This is a documentation and tooling-metadata PR. No production Go behavior is added.

Superseded by #106 after removing the unrelated deployment PR from the stack; documentation now sits directly on #102.
