Check it before you buy it

My experience with Sytner BMW has been extremely disappointing.
I viewed and purchased BMW X5 30d (SN19 KMW) as a BMW Approved Used vehicle. Within a short period of ownership, I identified numerous mechanical and cosmetic issues that I believe should have been found before the vehicle was offered for sale. Following my complaint, the dealership’s own inspection confirmed that several of the faults I raised required repair.
After losing confidence in that vehicle, I gave Sytner another chance and inspected BMW X5 M50d (PL20 CWW). During my inspection and road test, I again found a number of cosmetic issues and experienced a noticeable transfer box judder. Once again, I was left questioning the preparation standards of a BMW Approved Used vehicle.
My advice to anyone considering buying these vehicles, or any used car, is carry out a thorough inspection and insist on a proper road test before signing anything. Don’t rely solely on the Approved Used label.
I also found the customer service disappointing. I felt my concerns were not taken seriously, and resolving the issues took a great deal of time, effort and inconvenience.
Although the dealership eventually agreed to unwind my purchase, the whole experience fell well below the standard I expected from a BMW Approved Used retailer.
