Written by the company

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, I grew up with a great interest and desire to fix things. Whether it was a bike, go-cart or just helping my dad in the garage, I just always felt like “I belonged doing this." In 2001, I attended the Chrysler Apprenticeship Program at Macomb College. This was a two-year program where I would go to school full time and work in a Chrysler dealership part time--blending technical training with hands-on training. Over the years, I went from dealerships to independent garages for a more challenging atmosphere. In 2007, I took a break from it all and became a missionary in the Philippines. It was on the mission field that the love that I once had for automotive service was reignited. And here we are!

Mechanics to avoid

My husband had his truck towed to this establishment, issues with the timing chain. After ten days and numerous phone calls he was told the truck needed a new engine...strange as my husband had put in a new engine less than eight months before. We were told that the engine had been flushed numerous times, not true.My husband told them to put it all back together and tow it back to us.Two weeks pass and no truck.Another phone call truck is towed four days later, nothing is put back together all the parts are piled on the back seats. They said they can replace the timing chain for upwards of four thousand dollars. No thanks. My husband checks to see if the timing chain is on properly,it is not, calls Zima and is told the chain was not removed Unfortunately, the mechanic did remove the chain and putting it back, marked it incorrectly, on purpose or not,who knows but when asked if the chain had been removed he was told no.A gentleman by the name of Mike told us that when they uncovered the motor they did nothing to it.We are not thrilled at being lied to.We found the entire ordeal shady. An experience to be avoided.
