Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 35 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people reported significant product quality issues, such as windows being difficult to close, having drafts, or featuring sharp edges. Customers also noted defects like loose molding, falling grilles, and mold growth. Service and installation problems were frequent, with no-shows, long repair waits, and unprepared installers. Reviewers also faced issues with non-functioning retractable screens and expressed frustration over unexpected high fees for repairs. However, some customers were satisfied with specific staff members, finding them thoughtful and professional, and a few praised certain products like exterior doors for good quality and fantastic installation.

The men who installed my dining room…

The men who installed my dining room window did an exceptional job. They arrived on time, put down drop cloths, and immediately went to work. Before they left, they cleaned both inside and outside and left me with a completely clean window. They were very polite and
managed the job without any problems or delays.
Thank you Allen and Ronald.

The Complete about Pella One- Windows…

The Complete about Pella One- Windows were not done right and there were the worst nail holes and it took 8 plus times of them coming out to fix it.
Two- I also order doors and they were incorrectly me measured because of that the entry door not being installed. Also, the salesman charges my card after he said he would not till all was resolved and he charged the card.
In addition to all of this the sales representative acted unprofessional by yelling and using profanity when my contractor was trying to fix the doors. This happened in front of witnesses who can confirm what happened.

I would the the Pella customer serve to review this issue. Thanks Christa

Pella customer service

We bought a Pella patio door from Lowe’s.
Lowe’s sent out a sales person to go over all the doors available. this sales person “Anthony” Said he would remain our point person and we were to contact him if there was ANY issues, not Lowe’s.

The door arrived, the installer was amazing but the door had no lock with the hardware. The installer called to report the issue. We called Anthony who said we should call Pella to file a claim stating it would be better if it came from us. We contacted Pella and asked the part to be overnighted as we could not secure the door. Pella responded a week later that they received our request. Anthony never responded again but had a customer service person call us every day to tell us she had no information. So Anthony must have received his commission and passed us off. Lowe’s received the part three weeks later. They wanted us to make an appointment with the installer to install the lock. My husband drove over, got the part and installed it himself. Lowe’s lost a customer for sure we completed our three room renovation without using their services. Bye Lowe’s. Love the door, hate Pellas customer service.

Don't use Pella Omaha

I'm giving one star because you can't do ZERO. Pella installed a window incorrectly, left pieces in the frame on the outside, causing a leak inside. Then when they had to come fix it they charged me $145 for a diagnostic review, so a tech could say yes it was done incorrectly. They tried to ease the pain by not charging me labor fee to fix the window, ( they tried for $350 and i pointed out the concept of customer service), but are not budging on their diagnostic fee because they had to confirm it was done wrong. $145 for that confirmation. Don't use the Omaha pella people because the window installers are contracted so you may get someone good or someone horrible like the people who did mine. Also the customer service is not good or helpful. I have tons of friends who use Anderson and they have had no issues. I only used Pella becasue the window was already here when I bought it and it was under warranty. The problem comes from all the fees they will tack on. Another window I was going to have fixed was going to be $1,800 and the window was free. Lots of fees. Do not use unless you can afford the $ and headaches.

Awesome service people

Awesome service people! We had a transom window shattered by lawn crew soon after installment - and while it took a long time for the replacement glass to come in, I cannot say enough good things about the crew. Dexter and Jose did the replacement with no fuss and no muss. Dexter was professional and knowledgeable and so was Jose. They did a perfect job and cleaned everything up afterwards. Highly recommend!!!

Blind looks awful!

Pella is installing a door with a sidelight that includes a blind today - the framing of the blind is off-centered - it looks awful!

Caulking looks awful. Brand new door has inconsistent gaps. I feel like I wasted a lot of money.

Pella Customer Support ignores my service request!

I have 5 Pella casement windows that no longer close when I crank them out. I requested Pella service to either repair or replace the windows. I received this reply from Pella:
"Thank you for contacting us. A Pella representative will reach out within 3-5 business days."
It's been 11 days and I have not been contacted.

Pella's philosophy is "take the money and run"

In May 2026 we had $33,000 worth of Pella casement windows installed. We purchased the windows and installation directly through our regional Pella sales office. The day after installation, we discovered that none of the window cranks or locks had been properly installed and literally fell off of the windows when used. We also discovered damaged trim on one window. We called the customer service number and were connected to a foreign based call center. ($33,000 and this is the best Pella can do!) The call taker read from a script, asking for serial numbers, make, model, where I purchased the windows, the name of my contractor, etc. etc. etc. We felt that for $33,000, Pella should have all of that information on file! We requested to be connected to our local Pella representative, but the call taker would not do that. We ended the call and contacted our local Pella sales rep, hoping he could help. Apparently, he had already made the sale and was not interested in helping us. We finally managed to reach someone in our regional Pella office, who came to our house several days later. He fixed the defective lock and crank installations and discovered some other installation issues. He said he would order some parts and return to install them. That was six weeks ago. We left a followup voicemail message six days ago, but he has not yet responded. Pella has no customer service or followup. None. Yes, so far the windows seem to be of good quality, but there are other companies (at least in our area) that offer a similar quality product with much better customer service. Going forward, we are concerned that if anything ever goes wrong with our $33,000 windows, we will have one heck of a battle trying to get the problem resolved. Pella's philosophy seems to be "take the money and run." We absolutely do not recommend this company.

I cannot recommend PELLA

I cannot recommend PELLA. I ordered doors from PELLA but when install date finally arrived half of my doors were the wrong model. I was expected to wait several weeks for a new install date even though the correct doors were in stock and available that day.

Pella installation service was not worth the premium

I recently purchased a high-end Pella Reserve 16-foot sliding glass door from Pella in Monroe, CT. During the sales process, Pella strongly encouraged me to also use their installation service, which I agreed to because I expected a premium installation to match the premium product.

Unfortunately, the installers got spray foam/residue on the visible finished portion of the new door frame. This was not hidden foam in the rough opening — it was on the finished surface of the door and would not come off with normal cleaning.

When I contacted Pella, I expected them to send someone back to correct it. Instead, they suggested I try removing it myself with products such as Magic Eraser, Goo Gone, adhesive remover, or mineral spirits. I found that completely unacceptable on a brand-new finished frame, especially when the damage was caused by their own installation crew.

For what Pella charges for installation, I expected them to stand behind their workmanship. In my experience, they did not. The door itself may be a quality product, but I do not believe the Pella installation service was worth the premium. Based on this experience, I would suggest buying the door if you like the product, but using a qualified local carpenter or installer who will actually stand behind the work.

Don’t bother

Don’t bother! Our Pella patio retractable screen door was not retracting. Called Pella and they put us in touch with this contractor, Pella Mid Atlantic. We had to prepay for the service. The person sent had no solution to fix. He turned the screw to tighten the screen slightly, sprayed some silicone spray, both of which we could have done, and then essentially shrugged his shoulders and said nothing he could do to fix and he left. The retractable screen door is still not retracting and we wasted $203.

Six hour wait for call back? There is a work around!!!!

Had a glaze bead come off one of our windows. Was told it would be $250 for Pella to come out and install it. I had Pella send me a new bead and instructions for install. I installed it, but was unable to following Pella's instructions. The bead wouldn't catch in the window. Unable to contact anyone at Pella using the Customer option. Was told it would be six hours and thirty minutes before I would get a call back. Same thing when I asked for text support. I discovered that by bending the small angle on the vinyl bead it will in fact snap into the window. ALSO, ALWAYS push the contractor option when calling Pella, it was answered in less than a minute. Pella's customer service used to be so good, now it is lousy.

Service delayed 7 weeks

Patio doors replaced at a cost of $9800! The installers failed to tell me there is no screen door. Called to complain and Pella says it will take 6 weeks, total of 7 weeks not being able to open the window June/July! I have no air. Issue with an electric line that I need service on. These guys can’t do their work because it’s so hot in my townhouse. The patio doors are the only window in living room and kitchen, in the first floor. The house is suppose to be put up for sale in August. Now every thing is delayed because of Pella! How can I expect any one to do work on the inside.

If I could rate Pella as zero stars I would.

Had all Pella windows installed in my log home. Now there is mold growing between the two panels of two different Pella windows. Asked them what they can do for me. After waiting and sending in pictures and receipts after 6 weeks I got their answer: "Nothing!"
Seems there was a 2021 final date to file a complaint to be included in the class action suit against Pella precisely for this issue!!! WHO KNEW?? So I'm out of luck "Too bad sucker" is pretty much how I feel they think of their customers.
Do yourself a favor: spend a little more & buy from a 1st rate manufacturer. You won't be kicking yourself years later for saving a few bucks by buying Pella.

No Customer Service, Questionable Product

My experience with Pella Windows Nashville, TN: I purchased four windows; three of which were two normal size windows combined into one big window frame. The installation went well. The screens on one of the combined windows in front of my home are dented. The installation team said they had documented it and someone would get back with me. A few days after installation I pushed up the window (where the screens are dented) and could not get it back down, so I contacted my salesperson and he had someone stop by. They took a knife and cut some vinyl off the window which made the window easier to pull down. I showed him my dented screens, he looked at something on his phone and let me know it had been documented. I also showed him several big ‘ripples’ in the window glass. If you look out and move your head, items outside shift and move around. It is very weird. He said he would document it.

The installation was March 17, 2026. The person who helped get my window down came out a few days later. I also sent an email to their support website on May 4, 2026. All the issues are with my front porch window. It makes me wonder if it might have been damaged somewhere along the way in transit to my home. It is now May 31, 2026. I have not heard anything from anyone at Pella. I was really hoping these new windows would reduce some sound from outside because they are supposed to have some type of gas between the double panes. These windows allow more sound in than the much older windows they replaced (where seals were broken). My experience with Pella Nashville, TN is the most nonexistent customer service I have ever received from a company regarding products for my home.

My friend used American Home Design to replace all windows in their home. The window products were much better; they knocked out some sound from outside and their customer service was great. There were no ripples in any of the windows and no dented screens. The salesperson even came out a few months later to check up with her. I hope my experience helps someone else.

Casement windows leaked around frames

Casement windows leaked around frames, both fixed and movable types. Fixed (middle of 3 window gang) seal inches too short on corner of one side, exposing wood and nice hole for water to drain onto wood frame, house frame, chip board sheathing and behind wood siding, rotting everything beneath window over about 3 foot length. Replacement gang cost around $4000, will try to fix in place first then remove and repair gang if necessary. About 10 years ago had to make new glass frame for one movable window that rotted because not sealed properly, sealed 7 others and so far no leaks. Having self installed 10 Pella windows in a sun room new construction and after ripping off siding (so essentially a new construction install) the rest of house with Andersen doors (French and sliding) and windows, I would never buy Pella and have been satisfied with Andersen.

I've been trying to schedule a fix for my Pella screen door. I've spent hours on the phone and texting to get the service scheduled. I deal with a different person every time. Still no resolution. I tried to get this fixed over a year ago and gave up eventually.
