Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that the knives came back sharp, but additional scratches on the main body of the blade are not something we can assess reliably without seeing them.
Very fine marks close to the cutting edge can sometimes result from the sharpening process. New scratches higher up on the blade should, however, be examined. Please send clear photos of the affected areas together with your order details to info@messerbrief.de so that we can review the case and help you properly.
We want you to be satisfied with both the sharpness and the overall finish.

There is a fundamental misunderstanding here. This has nothing to do with knife sales. The service in question is professional knife sharpening: customers send in their own knives and receive the very same knives back after sharpening.
Claims of scamming are therefore factually incorrect and show a lack of understanding of what the service actually is.

So wie du es schilderst, klingt es eher danach, dass wir deine Messer möglicherweise nie erhalten haben – zum Beispiel, wenn das Rücksendeetikett nicht aufgeklebt wurde. In diesem Fall können wir natürlich nichts schleifen, was nie bei uns angekommen ist.
Alternativt sind deine Erwartungen an die Schärfe deutlich höher als das, was die Qualität deiner Messer dauerhaft zulässt. Wir schleifen grundsätzlich immer nach den vom Hersteller empfohlenen Schleifwinkeln, um Funktion, Standzeit und Material zu erhalten.
Wenn du bewusst eine extremere Schärfe möchtest, musst du uns das ausdrücklich mitteilen. Das ist möglich – hat aber Konsequenzen: Du wirst die Messer deutlich häufiger skärpa müssen, die Schneide rundet sich schneller ab und die Messer müssten entsprechend öfter geschliffen werden als technisch notwendig.
Die andere Option ist, Messer aus härterem Stahl zu verwenden, die niedrigere Schleifwinkel dauerhaft verkraften.
TOO EXPENSIVE
Unfortunately I have to update my original review. While the service is very fast, the price is just too expensive rendering it not worth it. They charged me 50€ for 2 knives… that’s insane. I only agreed to sign up and try it all because the original quote was showing less than 17€, so you could imagine my shock, disappointment, and frustration paying way wayyyyy more than that. Contacted customer service and they didn’t really care to keep me as customer so I will delete my account and warn others of the high cost.

The service is good, but...
The service is good. The knives came back razor sharp. The process is simple and straightforward. After six months, they sent me the next envelope, but I didn't need sharpening at the time. Their offer was that I can send the next batch of knives any time I need.
Despite this, they began sending me invoices and payment reminders. They demanded payment for a service I didn't order. After a while, they began adding "reminder fee"! I'm afraid that's not how business works. Not with me.
Update: After a few months, they sent a debt collector company to pester me. And now, several months later, they have the nerve to claim that they have no deadline for requesting their next service. Yeah, I probably just imagined it all. Either way, they don't get a penny. Beware these guys!

According to our contract, we are obligated to send you the next envelope as part of the subscription. However, you can send it back with your knives whenever it suits you – there is no fixed timing. The invoice is issued independently of when you decide to redeem the service. Otherwise, the subscription model simply would not work.
It’s similar to buying a voucher for a massage: you pay for it now, but you can use it anytime you wish. The timing is completely up to you.
