Love this app, not only does it help reforestation efforts globally, but it also protects my data and doesn't track my online activity. Ecosia publishes monthly financial reports so you know exactly where the money goes. It’s clean, has no intrusive ads, and provides a great user experience. but I want ecosia's dev add some shortcut

Really happy that I've switched to Ecosia. It's good to see the transparency of Ecosia, and what they're achieving for a healthier planet. It works on my Chromebook, and every ethical choice, however small it may seem, feels good :)

The software auto-updated (not a thing I realised could happen) and now is blocked because my iMac does not have a recent enough OS. But the OS I am running is the most up to date version my machine will run. And there is no way to revert to earlier software. So the only solution is to buy another machine or run other software. That DOES NOT fit with a company claiming environmental credentials. It is a waste of my time and resources and is pushing me towards ditching an otherwise perfectly functional machine just to cope with a browser that is supposed to be supporting the environment. Truly awful situation to be in from a company claiming high ethical standards. To me that seems like a typical corporate lie.

It's very good it has the tradition web search and also have Ai, I basically prefer the AI assesstant of ecosia since it give a short but direct answers better for quick questions. Improve so much since the last time I use way back years I just forgot that this search engine exist. Only suggestion, is keep the AI button for faster switch between Web search and AI assist.

I have been using for years now. Such a relief to have a search engine that doesn't make me feel sick to use, adding to the destruction of a livable planet, lining the pockets of billionaires. I can always find what I am looking for, sometimes need a few extra search terms but worth it. I like the transparency and that I can turn off unnecessary AI summaries. The AI function is good too, can add environmental ethics to the AI which suits me well.

I search for a specific document with author and date and it returns nothing remotely relevant. Then I move to another browser, same search parameters, top hit is what I asked for. Three stars because fewer seems churlish, but honestly, I left the Other One due to trust and now I don´t trust this either.

It's only been a week since me using ecosia browser and I'm so glad I switched from chrome to this one .The browsing is smooth and the results are relevant and useful with no unnecessary AI overviews The best thing is, it runs on solar energy and plants trees with the profits in places where they're needed the most . In a world where it feels like AI is being shoved down our throats and everything feels so overwhelming, ecosia is making it all better . I hope we could have more non profit organizations like this taking such initiatives and making the world a better place .

You can create a Free account and just use the Ecosia free app daily to watch your impact grow.
More than 20 million Customers and 35 countries are on board. By using it daily, I'm aware that this means I'm planting 365 free trees a year with them! Not bad, and this goes a nice way in reducing my carbon footprint too.

A great wee change for leaving the shackles of Google and American companies behind. A European and ethical company with a used friendly search engine. It is basic, but it does all you need. I'm glad to have found it and made the move to stop using corrupt and privacy lacking companies. Plus it plants trees with use, which you can check on. I've not gone into that bit yet though.

Ecosia, if you are a search engine used for the good of the environment, why are you implementing generative AI? Are you, as a company, not aware of its detrimental environmental impact? I would suggest doing some research on that, maybe...

I have just transferred to Ecosia as my primary search engine. I am very impressed with it's performance, speed of search results and finding answers to my, sometimes idiosyncratic, questions.

This app can answer almost every question accurately and it doesn’t use water that we can’t recycle! It’s environment healthy because the AI runs off of sunlight and plants trees every single time you ask a question.

I like the idea of planting trees, and ecosia worked as a search engine, but every time I did a search, besides pulling up results, it opened another tab which was the ecosia search page. By the end of the day I had a bunch of unnecessary extra tabs to close. Eventually I disabled ecosia on my PC because of this.

This search engine is good. I don't know if it really plants trees or not, but searching is easy and it's more private than Google. The browser is a Chrome clone, not just a Chromium fork, it's just Chrome with less telemetry.

Claims to work for the environtment, but is investing money into useless AI systems, which harm the environment.

Furthermore, Ecosia can't filter out AI results, which makes it completly useless.

I love using Ecosia. This search engine is complete: you can search everything as others but instead of being interested in merely selling your data away it actually care about our planet by planting trees. I was skeptical at first but they are very transparent and I am 100% happy with this choice now. They are also working to build a European search index, which is very important to me. Thanks for being here, Ecosia.

Ecosia is a great browser!
In my opinion, it is on the same level as Google, and most of their money goes towards planting trees. That really is incredible. I've had no issues with it whatsoever and all the results come up that are useful. It's so fast as well!
