Wix is easy to use and always appears to be online, which is great. The only niggle for my site, which is likely down to operator error and the length of time I’ve had my site operating, is I find tha... See more

I needed a website that I could utilize to promote my children's picture books, and I don't have the time and knowledge to invest in learning how to create webpages. Wix allowed me to quickly create my own content, colors and layout and publish a very simple, yet informative web-site that describes exactly what I want to tell people about myself and my books I've written, illustrated and published. benjithebearstories
We have been dealing with serious Wix Hotels issues since July 2026, including blank pages and problems managing our calendar, room prices, and availability.
We had already paid in December 2025 for a multi-year Business plan. Because of these technical issues, we were led to upgrade to Business Elite for an additional $1,302.57. As a result, we lost approximately 1.5 years remaining on our original subscription and paid for another three-year subscription that we did not need.
Wix later acknowledged that the upgrade was unnecessary because the problem was on their side and told us we would receive a full refund.
Instead, we were offered only $698, with no satisfactory explanation for the difference. We were told that the amount was based on a system calculation, despite being personally promised a full refund.
After numerous calls, emails, and follow-ups, both the technical issues and the refund dispute remain unresolved. For a platform that businesses depend on for bookings and daily operations, this level of support is extremely disappointing.
I am a picture framer and used Wix for over 10 years for three services, website hosting, domain name and business email. Only recently and with the help of my daughter did I discover how much they were overcharging for the same services you can now get for a fraction of the cost elsewhere. Also I realised that Wix were billing me separately and at different times for the three services I was buying through them which made it difficult to track and monitor, sneaky! As an example, I was being charged over £200 PA for hosting alone through Wix. With a little research into other companies who offer hosting, I am now paying under £100 and that’s for 4 years of hosting! Same scenario and savings with my domain name. We even managed to get a free business email for a year by changing the service. All in all, that’s a huge saving for my small business. So if you’re trying to get your costs down as I was, it is definately worth looking elsewhere for website hosting etc. Interestingly, as soon as Wix knew we were looking around, they offered us 50% off which to me was still way too expensive and felt like a kick in the teeth for someone who’s stayed loyal to them for over 10 years. In this day and age of Ai there is no reason why tech. companies like this should be getting away with charging so much for pressing a few buttons on a computer.
Our state has experienced quite a population influx & our service(s) have become diluted. We do not possess the funds to contract a professional web-design team so we have been tasked with the distribution of our business & creation of a spin-off of our county’s drivers eduction school.
WIX has provided us with all of the tools, framework, systems, guidance & support, all under a manageable price that fits our budget.
Our team has success now & our students are safely driving because of WIX!
Great website builder, but could be better on mobile
I’ve been building my small business website with Wix and overall I’ve been really impressed with how easy it is to create a professional-looking site without needing any coding experience.
The templates and design options are excellent, and I’ve been able to create a website for my candle business that looks professional and works well for customers.
However, there are some frustrating limitations when using Wix on mobile. Some things that are straightforward on desktop can be difficult to find or edit through the mobile app, particularly when managing menus, products and categories.
The monthly cost is also something to consider for a small business, especially once you start adding different features and services.
Overall, I’m happy with Wix and it has allowed me to get my business online relatively easily. I’d just like to see a better mobile editing experience and more flexibility for smaller businesses.
I’m leaving a one star review so people will understand the downside to using Wix. Especially if you’re on a budget. I do like the ease of the platform for domains and website building.
Downside is customer service, there is none, all AI generated. I set up my website for my business and it had hardly any visitors and zero transactions. I hadn’t updated it in almost a year given the lack of return on original investment.
I was notified only ONCE from wix about the business plan renewal on Sept 18th. It only mentioned the Domain cost of $37. However they never sent me an email regarding the website renewal cost of $506, which comes out the month before the expiration. The day I got the email saying the funds were transferred I tried reaching out to WIX customer service, couldn’t get a person, just AI, opened a case with PayPal and wix, only got a response from PayPal. Not WIX, it is my fault for not watching the account closer, but I feel with WIX being so automated with AI they should be sending out a notice the date that they withdraw $506. I guess that would keep the money coming in and they can just hide behind their policy and keep the funds.
WIX is not for the little guys trying to make it work. Poor customer service.
Interface was not user friendly. I canceled 2 days after signing, and discovered that they charged me again 3 days later, with no notification. $350 down the drain. They tried to gaslight me into thinking that I initiated the payment, which I did not. When I said they'd recieve bad reviews for stealing my money, they didn't care. Go elsewhere.
Using Wix has overall be a positive experience--I was happy to be able to get my webpage and my business essentials up and running in less than an hour.
Ms. Forbes came to speak to us for the pre NIL Business program at Howard University this summer. Thank you!!!
I thought wix was great until I got hacked and lost control of my emails. The company have basically told me that the website belongs to whoever owns the email, despite my providing crime numbers, evidence that I bought the domain and my ID and details of the card that purchased the domain. This is incredibly damaging to my business both in terms of our reputation and ability to trade. That they just ignore my emails and refuse to return the website to me is infuriating. We have been waiting over a week to hear back since I sent in my ID and proof that I bought the domain. I have sent it in again but still no response, not an update nor a refusal, Not being able to speak with someone makes it even more annoying as we can only email the support team who seem to just ignore us. I've been focussing on the main business because people pay us via the site and I'm concerned that they may clone the site so people end up paying them money and us not receiving it. I've been using wix for over 10 years for one of my other businesses which I have also lost the website for however it's not my main focus because it is just a landing page and no one pays me via the website. Avoid at all costs if you are receiving monies from clients or for products because they are just not interested in getting the site back for us. I'm so disappointed at the lack of support and communication from them so am posting on here as a last resort that they might actually try and help. I think it is also important that their users know that they could lose their on line business overnight.
Hello, I am writing to you today because a few months ago Wix had said that they are going to provide me with a refund of $200, and I had talked to several people at Wix that said they agreed to send that money back to me, however, I have not seen it yet and I have no idea where it’s at. I’m not complaining. They said they would refund it. I just feel like it has been quite some time and I’m wondering if we can try to get this resolved once and for all a lot of things are being held back because of this money not making it to me so I hope we can resolve it as soon as possible it’s been at least two months now that I’ve been waiting possibly even longer so hopefully we can resolve this as soon as possible.
Kindest regards, Ryan Steinbeck

As a product advisor at Woodstock NB Toyota I needed an extra edge to capture leads. Wix has made it easy and simple to create a website that has function for my business. Thank you.
As always, the most horrible experience possible. I bought a domain from it a year ago, and after 3 months, they suddenly banned me, then, after trying 6 times to get the account reactivated, they sent me today an email saying that I will get permanently banned, and without any explanations at all. Worst experience possible, bad service, absolute horrible company.
I really wish I just learned coding and used another web hosting site such as Wordpress before locking myself into this hell.
I had previously played around with web design and had worked on ready established websites in previous jobs, so, when I started a new job at a small business and they asked if I could build them a website, I thought, oh, no worries, WIX is pretty user friendly. Oh boy, 3 years in and it's been one stressful process. I've had so many issues with responsive design, random bugs that stop things working, and just the limitation the whole platform presents. The customer service is woeful and it's clear they don't give a damn - a few months ago I got so sick of dealing with the limitations of the editor and a new option became available to migrate to their studio editor, which, after much research seemed to have a bit more flexibility and options. I spent weeks rebuilding the website in studio editor, only to launch it and find it did not work as it had in the editor (rookie mistake which I managed to fix eventually), when I contacted support to explain that this is a business website and I really need to revert back to the editor version (which IS still available and I can even now edit it) I was told 'sorry, it's a one way ticket, once you switch you can't go back'... as if they're whole business isn't built around web building and hosting, even I know that if they could be bothered it could've been reverted back as it would still be backed up on the server. Ever since I keep having so many issues with the platform crashing, random quirks of elements just moving or not working as meant to - which I know other users also complain about. It's a shame, the premise is there to be a good platform, but the limitations and bugs are so frustrating to work with.
The one advantage is that due to all the bugs and limitations, I have become a lot more proficient at coding and web design as I've had to rely A LOT on Velo - their manual coding interface.
It probably is okay for a quick, basic website, but I would highly recommend avoiding WIX for proper business websites or websites that require more 'advanced' features and layouts.

I love WIX because it is not as hard as I thought to edit it! someone else did the main pages and when I need to make editions I do it myself, I highly recommend WIX for startups!
Easy process, the AI agent is very helpful. I was able to get my site up and operational within hours.
I really wanted to love Wix. I came over from Squarespace genuinely excited about the platform, the tools, and especially the AI capabilities.
Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing.
I have contacted Wix customer support roughly 12 times about various issues and, repeatedly, I have either received no response at all or received an answer that did nothing to address the actual problem.
The biggest frustration has been the AI system. Wix charges credits for AI features, but I have never been able to get a clear explanation of how those credits are being consumed. I have specifically asked Wix to explain where my AI credits went and to justify the usage. I have received no meaningful answer.
The Smart Chat feature on my website has also never worked properly. I contacted support about it and instead of helping me troubleshoot or fix the problem, I was essentially told that I could hire a professional. That is not customer service. That is being told to pay someone else to solve a problem with the platform I am already paying Wix to provide.
Then my website went down for two full days.
Two days.
During that time, I received no useful communication, no meaningful support, and no explanation of what was happening or when the problem would be resolved. In fact I would have never known were it not for my customers reaching out to let me know they couldn't access the site. For someone running a business website, that is completely unacceptable.
And this is the part that bothers me the most: I have actually tried to work with Wix. I have reached out repeatedly. I have asked reasonable questions. I have given them opportunities to address these issues.
Nothing.
I already know what the response to this review will probably look like: “We're so sorry to hear about your experience. Customer satisfaction is extremely important to us. Please contact our support team…”
That would be almost funny at this point, because I HAVE contacted your support team. Over and over again.
Wix has some genuinely impressive features, and that is what makes this so frustrating. I came here excited about the platform and wanted it to work.
Instead, I have spent far too much time trying to get help from the company providing it.
At this point, I am seriously considering moving my site back to Squarespace—not because Squarespace was perfect, but because a platform is only as good as the support you can get when something goes wrong.
Wix has made a very good first impression.
The actual experience has been terrible.
Update# 09/04/2026- See this right here is the problem. On trustpiolet they are quick and responsive. But if this rep had actually read my post, the main problem is the poor contact with their customer service team. Yesterday when I tried to fix this before writing this your rep actually suggested I use your Hire a professional if i am having issues with smart chat. I'm sorry I thought that was a wix item and thet they would back their products, sorry I guess that was my mistake. Thats ok thankfully for me, the State of Minnesota has a great consumer protection division with the attorney general's office, and for once someone actually listened. They gave me a lot of help, and pending the response i got from here, also agreed to help me going forward. That's sad, but I guess that's where we are.

I am new to blogs and websites, but WIX made it so user friendly that even a novice can do this!
