1. The product was accurately described and compliant with UK law

Our product listing states “<0.2% THC”, which is the standard UK legal compliance wording used across the CBD industry.
This phrase does not state that THC is present — only that, in line with UK regulations, the THC content is below the legal threshold. This includes products that contain 0% THC, which is why the manufacturer-provided imagery on our listing clearly shows “THC Free”.

We also contacted Hempthy directly on your behalf and provided you with their official Certificate of Analysis, confirming the product’s THC-free status. The manufacturer also confirmed that they classify the product as full spectrum due to the range of cannabinoids present, despite THC being non-detectable.

2. Multiple other retailers use the same description

To ensure nothing about our listing was misleading, we reviewed other UK retailers selling the exact same product.
All use the same “<0.2% THC” compliance wording, showing this is standard practice and not a unique claim used by us.

3. The product was opened, which makes it non-returnable

We fully appreciate that you opened the bottle for inspection; however, for the safety of all customers, we cannot accept returns of ingestible products that have been opened, as stated clearly in our refund policy.

Despite this, we initially offered a refund pending confirmation that the bottle was unopened. When it became clear the seal had been broken, we were no longer able to accept the return due to health & safety regulations. Open CBD oils must be destroyed and cannot be resold.

4. We acted transparently, promptly, and respectfully

Throughout our correspondence, we:

- replied quickly

- reached out to the manufacturer

- provided the official lab report

- clarified the description

- explained industry standards

- offered a refund before learning the product was opened

At no point did we refuse to help — we simply could not override health & safety laws once the bottle had been opened.

5. Regarding the comment about a “Hotmail address”

The CoA was issued directly by Hempthy, the manufacturer. Their customer service email domain has no bearing on the validity of the test results, and the report itself was produced by an accredited laboratory.

We absolutely understand that CBD terminology can sometimes be confusing, which is why we always aim to provide as much detail and clarity as possible. We have acted in line with:

- our published return policy

- manufacturer documentation

- health & safety regulations for ingestible products

We are a small business, and accuracy and transparency are incredibly important to us. We regret that we were unable to meet this customer's expectations, but we stand by the fact that:

- the product was correctly described

- the manufacturer’s documentation confirmed this

and the refund request could not be honoured solely because the product was opened.
