Such a special place ✨ The owners work closely with craftsmen across the UK, bringing together the most beautiful handmade pieces. Every item is unique, carefully created, and even comes with the story of the maker behind it — which makes it feel even more meaningful.

Quality clearly matters here. Beautifully curated space for creatives, makers and community to gather. The co-owner Clement welcomed us warmly to the wonderful ceramics workshop with Natalie Haynes of NH Ceramics. Snacks, water, a comfortable studio and plenty of parking made all the difference as guests in the space. We are so grateful this is in our neighborhood, but for anyone not in the neighborhood of Burford - they are definitely worth traveling to! 100% include a Vigour and Skills stop in or workshop in your Cotswolds itinerary.

We did a Celtic Knot workshop with Vigour and Skills in March 2026. It was a fantastic experience. The workshop is in rural Oxfordshire, but very accessible, and is a warm and welcoming creative space. Warning: next door to the workshop is a crafts shop with lots and lots of beautiful things, so bring your credit card!

There were 9 lovely people in our session - one more than usual - but we all had plenty of space and were all given personal attention as needed from Laurence, our tutor. All equipment was provided and at the end of the day we had our work to take home as a memento of the day. To be honest, mine turned out so much better than I had expected, friends and family can now all expect to receive a hand-made celtic knot rope placemat for Christmas this year...

Overall, it was a brilliant experience, and I'm looking forward to discovering what else I can learn at Vigour and Skills in the future.

I purchased a hand made ceramic bowl which is absolutely perfect. I love it. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly my purchase arrived considering it was from out of the Country. I've purchased from Vigour and Skills before and have always been pleased and I highly recommend them!

Our tutor was fantastic, maintaining an ideal pace throughout the lesson. The environment was delightful, with ample supplies and a variety of thread colors to choose from.

The wallet crafting class was a delightful experience. The instructor was both welcoming and encouraging. The venue was easy to reach, and Rosanne made a special effort to tailor the process to my needs. I was thrilled with the final result.

A little off the beaten track , I found this very pleasant little gallery showcasing many different talented artists …basket makers , leather workers , potters …looking forward a birthday gift …found just what I wanted .

The glasses are really special - most beautiful, just the size for the hand, easy to grasp because of the fluting.
And very stable. 10/10 for design...........

Lovely welcome, an excellent tutor and a friendly group. Relaxed workshop when I felt we gained valuable tips, hints and experience.
Only downside was that there was very little heating in the workshop on a very cold day.

Friendly, non intimidating environment for a total novice. Our tutor Natalie was kind and patient and the other attendees very friendly. Gorgeous coffee supplied by Clement😃

We had a really great experience at Vigour & Skills with Rachel making clay Christmas decorations. Very relaxed and calm. I can’t wait to see the final fired ornaments. The venue is such a lovely space. I would definitely do another course here and would recommend.

A lovely store selling unique products. I bought a gorgeous jug made by an independent potter and it is beautiful. Arrived quickly and very well packaged with a personal thank you note from the potter. Highly recommend.
