Not sure about all of the reviews ...
It provides a useful service but I do not trust the screening. My tutoring email gets several emails every day offering good reviews that "stick" or offering to remove bad reviews (which I don't think I have).
One particularly bad company had a split of 1 vs 5 star reviews. Nothing in between. I'm pretty sure the 5's were purchased or made by insiders. They did not sound very realistic and many were similar. A legitimate company with many reviews would typically have a mix of all ratings (not necessarily even, of course).
I've also found that companies with a bad review often ask for a quick response, often offering in a comment to help solve the issue. They seem to be trying to cull the ones from people who do not respond or take too long. I responded to the last one and did get email from them but no follow up and no resolution despite their comment. So the fact that they respond offering to help on many reviews is probably misleading.
