We had a wonderful trip through Japan. Our tour guide Ray was very knowledgeable and shared many stories along the way. He took care of us and kept us together.
If I could give them a zero I would. Not only does Triptogo’s calling number rarely work but so does their email. My trip I had ordered back in August was cancelled and I was only notified when I had called them 29 days before the actual trip was going to occur. When I asked for a full refund they said I had to wait at most 8 weeks from the vendor to get a full refund which they promise if you dont get your information 30 days before the trip.
Triptogo has a decent selection of travel options that make planning trips easier. Booking was straightforward and I found good deals on accommodations. The cancellation policy, though, was less flexible than I expected, which made me hesitant about my choices. Their digital itinerary was well-organized, which helped in keeping track of my plans.
It was overwhelming at the beginning bec it was my first trip to Japan, but the staff at TriptoGo were very accommodating and warm. Tour guides were really energetic, fun and professional. The itineraries were carefully selected and very enjoyable.
I would like to book another tour with them maybe this time with complete private and pick up transfers especially if I bring my kids along.
I would give them a high rating even though the trip was canceled because they refunded all the money and whenever I called them to ask a question customer service was great!
TripToGo did my first ever experience in Japan really great. Everything was arranged and emailed to us in detailed. The flights were arranged for us, had a pick up staff at Narita airport who took us to our hotel directly. The hotels were fine and clean. Tour guide was really fun and knowledgeable. Also the drivers we had were very professional and careful on the road which is very important to me. Eveything was handled well and we felt we were heard everytime we needed assitance.
I couldnt wait to book another trip with them for my birthday!
I just finished a wonderful trip to Japan with my family, and we really enjoyed our experience!
The hotels were nice and conveniently located, and the tour was very well planned, especially for first time visitors to Japan. Our tour guide, Carlos, was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and sweet. He made our trip even more enjoyable!
Overall, we had a fantastic experience with Trip To Go and would definitely travel with them again. Highly recommended!
Melissa was well informed and nice and able to answer our questions and add pertinent information that we didn't know to ask about.
I need help merging bookings and then rearranging rooms. I initially received direction through the live chat and followed up with an email. I received acknowledgement of my email and request and though it took several weeks, everything was taken care of.
Amazing trip, I can’t wait to visit again! I was well looked after by the team.
Great experience:)
Very knowledgeable, patient, and professional. The itinerary was fast-paced but definitely worth it, and we got to experience so much in a short amount of time. We would definitely recommend this tour, Hope to see stuff again!
The staff was nice, and organised. I enjoyed the trip, very much recommended!
I made my first trip to Istanbul two months ago. The experience is unique and exceptional, not only because of the beautiful landscape and enthusiastic Turkish people, but also the perfect programs organized by Trip To Go. The tour guide is very professional and knowledgeable which leaves me an incredible impression. The hotels we stay are comfortable and well maintained. It’s a wonderful journey and will stay in my lifelong memory.
Just finished our Thailand trip (Bangkok + Pattaya + Phuket) with Trip to Go, super happy with everything! Tour guide Chai: Super nice and super attentive! handled all details so well and looked after us the whole time.
Hotels: Dvaree Jomtien (Pattaya) the sea view is awesome! La Green (Phuket) very new hotel, super quiet with lots of greenery. Very comfortable stay.
The staff are welcoming. The tour guide is consciertious. The visitors have a great time.
Amazing Trip to China at an Incredible Price, With a Few Hiccups
We just returned from our trip to China organized by TripToGo, and overall, it was a wonderful experience! Considering the incredibly low promotional price, I think we got amazing value for our money.
The accommodations were excellent. All the hotels were top-notch, with comfortable rooms and amazing food. Transportation was well organized, and most of the tours were interesting, enjoyable, and ran smoothly.
We really liked our local tour guides (with one exception). They were knowledgeable, friendly, and very good at keeping everyone organized. Managing a group of 35 people is no easy task, and they did a great job of "herding" us from place to place while keeping everything on schedule.
We also participated in several optional tours, and some were absolutely worth the extra cost. One of the highlights was the incredible Impression West Lake show in Hangzhou. What an unforgettable experience!
I also want to give special recognition to Allison, our TripToGo representative, who accompanied us throughout the entire trip. She was approachable, responsive to our questions and concerns, and did her best to address issues as they arose. Having someone from the company traveling with us and available when needed was very reassuring. Great customer service, Allison!
Unfortunately, there were a few hiccups:
1. Visa confusion. Our itinerary qualified us for visa-free entry into China, but the company didn't communicate the requirements clearly. This caused unnecessary confusion for several travelers when we arrived at the airport in China.
2. Mandatory tips. We weren't informed clearly in advance that tips for local guides and bus drivers were mandatory. Apparently, these individuals are independent operators who rely on tips for their compensation. This added approximately $200 to the cost of the trip, which we hadn't anticipated. We also weren't prepared to carry that much cash, as we had assumed most expenses could be paid electronically.
3. Hong Kong tour guide. Unfortunately, our last tour guide in Hong Kong was quite inexperienced and spoke very poor English. Most of our group had difficulty understanding him, and some of the activities there were rather hit or miss. This was disappointing compared to the excellent guides we had earlier in the trip.
Despite these issues, we had an amazing time! China exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The beautiful sights, fascinating culture, modern infrastructure, and overall organization of the trip made it a truly memorable experience.
I think the company did a great job overall, especially considering the price. With better communication about visa requirements and mandatory tips, and more consistent quality among tour guides, the experience could be even better.
Would I recommend this trip? Absolutely! We came home with wonderful memories and a much greater appreciation for this beautiful country.
I am writing this review in real time, on Day 7 of TripToGo's "Whispers of Europe" tour, from a hotel in Italy. I paid almost $3,000, traveling solo, for a guided tour of Europe. I did not get one.
What I got were escorts — people who are merely present while you are moved from place to place. A guide teaches, informs, and leads. Ours did none of that. They didn't know the itinerary, the schedules, or what was open. My iPhone did their job: directions, restaurants, opening hours.
Read the pattern, because it never stopped. We were taken into Bern and Zurich on a Sunday, when every shop in Switzerland is shut down and closed. We were routed through Dijon on a French holiday weekend, with its stores closed — and the $49 wine tasting was presented in another language entirely, translated poorly by our own lead escort, on a tour this company sells as "Operated in English." The $149 Mount Titlis excursion included a chairlift that is closed for the whole month of November. The "Mürren Village Alpine Experience" was a village closed for the season — boarded-up shops, empty streets, thirty minutes, and not one word of explanation about the place: not how many people live there, not how they live. Nothing.
Guests who paid $79 for the luxury GoldenPass panoramic train were put on an ordinary public train. In Interlaken, the boat we were brought to had stopped running for the season — the escorts learned that from the sign on the dock, standing in front of us — so we were put on the wrong boat, and its crew turned around out of courtesy to bring us back. Getting off, the captain looked at us and said, "Good luck."
This trip was a gift I gave myself for my 60th birthday, after a year of tragedy and loss. I am a psychotherapist, and I have spent my evenings on this trip building myself a treatment plan just to get through the next day. That is what this company did with something that mattered. It is the worst, most stressful vacation of my life — and I travel constantly, usually alone, in countries whose language I don't speak. I have never been this confused or this stressed. Their escorts didn't relieve confusion; they created it, daily.
I have demanded a full refund in writing, and I will update this review with whatever TripToGo does next. If you are reading this while deciding: decide differently.
UPDATE — Wednesday, November 4, Milan. This is what this company calls Milan: off the bus at 9:24 AM, back on the bus at 10:45 AM — extended at the last minute to 11:00. One hour and twenty minutes, most of it before Milan's stores even open at 10:00. I came to Milan to see the Duomo — it was one of the main reasons I booked this tour — and when I got to its square, I had lost all interest in seeing it. That is what this tour does to a person. The Galleria, the famous mall I was supposed to experience, stood mostly shuttered at 9:47 AM; I filmed its closed shops and walked away. I had a coffee at a café by the castle and came back to sit on a bench and wait for the bus. Every stop on this tour has been the same: one hour here, two hours there. I paid almost $3,000 for a bus ride. And this morning, at 8:17 AM, our own escort wrote to me that she had no information from the agency about tonight's hotel in Venice. At 8:40 AM the second escort told us the group is split between two hotels, and that they have been asking the office for the names for days. We still do not know where we are sleeping tonight. It does not get better. If you are considering a trip with Trip To Go, I strongly encourage you to book someplace else.
