I purchased a travel policy, then realized I had the wrong dates after it was issues. Spoke with one of your experts, who helped make the change and process a refund based on shorter timeline for trip. It was refreshing to get quick assistance, and resolution in one call.

Travel Guard: Don't waste your money.

I purchased Travel Guard insurance through Expedia for a flight from Barcelona to Seville that was subsequently canceled by the airline due to weather.

Despite providing documentation clearly showing the cancellation, my booking through Expedia, and the refund situation, Travel Guard has spent weeks reviewing my claim, only to demand additional documentation that I've already explained I cannot obtain.

To make matters worse, the representative I spoke with was exceptionally rude, repeatedly interrupted me, and offered no meaningful assistance in resolving the situation.

It's now been a month since the cancellation, and I'm still fighting to recover my money. I paid $70 for insurance specifically to protect against unexpected travel disruptions, only to discover how difficult it is to get Travel Guard to actually process a claim.

I've since filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

My advice? Think twice before purchasing Travel Guard insurance. Based on my experience, the supposed peace of mind isn't worth the money—or the aggravation.

The online process was very straight forward. Only took a few minutes.

I purchased this travel insurance for my trip to Ireland in Sept 2026. Our flight was cancelled and we could not rebook until two days later to get back to Newark NJ. I submitted the claim to Travel Guard online. They said they needed to speak to me in person so I spent 48 min on the phone with the claims rep and THEN she sent me an email and asked me to attach several documents which I did that same day. Never heard one word from them so I followed up with a phone call to them a week later. They said they had never received my docs so I resent them 28 days ago. Called again today and asked for a supervisor since they are not receiving what I am sending, I was on hold for 1 hour and 23 min before finally ending the call. I guess that is what happens when you ask to speak to the superior. I don't know what to do now - I have filed a complaint with the BBB and with United Airlines, who is the one offering this insurance. I would like to send an email to Travel Guard executive but cannot find contact info.

Absolutely at no time would I use this insurance ever again. I suggest nobody else does either. They are a scam and will not pay a claim. Business trip was postponed eight days by the US Govt' and I had to reschedule my flights covered by their Insurance and they refused to pay. They claim it doesn't meet their criteria. Things out of my control is why I bought their useless insurance.

Everything was very simple and easy to sign up for this insurance. I would like to thank the Lord that I did not have to use it at all, but I felt confident that if I had to it would be there.

I am deeply disappointed with my experience with Travel Guard. I specifically purchased their "Cancel for Any Reason" (CFAR) coverage to ensure I would be protected if I needed to call off my trip. However, when I actually had to cancel and filed a claim, it was completely denied.
The marketing and name of "Cancel for Any Reason" are incredibly misleading. They lead you to believe you are safe, but they hide behind technicalities and exclusions in the fine print when it comes time to pay out. If you are buying this policy thinking it offers true flexibility and peace of mind, be warned: their CFAR claims feel entirely false. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for travel insurance that actually honors its word.

I had a delay on my flight and had to get another flight but they reimburse me for my food drinks and trip delay. I would always purchase from them again for trip insurance very much A necessary travel need.

A scam they just wait you out to keep your money a lie saying it wasn’t on your insurance statement like brother eh. Also there customer service line is ran by a ton of assholes

This company is disgusting! I had a policy with them two years ago and included was trip cancellation. I had an emergency. My daughter almost died in a horrific motorcycle accident. I was going on a cruise the following day, now they’re telling me it’s only covered if I’m on the trip already when that when they accident happened. I told them I need trip cancellation. I have a lot of trips between now and when my policy ends the end of January and they said they can’t even add it now. Do not buy anything with travel guard! What a shame I used to tell everybody that they were a great insurance company. I will go with another one for next year‘s yearly plan. Horrible customer service! I should have called when I got a new plan but I received an email saying please come back to us and I did it online through their email.

I am very disappointed in this insurance and will also post this review on Expedia. While I was sick with flu and had to cancel my trip (which was around $200), they need documentation of being sick. I cancelled my trip and did tell them that I feel weak and am resting at home, but of-course we have to complete their task and pay the doctor visit fee and give them documents. There is no such disclaimer while getting the insurance. They just trick you into buying protection and then do not provide protection. I am sure these scammers are making a good bonus every year, looting money from people which they don't even know for the most part as they do take the trip and these scammers make money. Never had to deal with such a scam company before. And of-course they take 2 weeks to respond to the claim, making sure it is too late to provide any documentation because by that time things have changed.

Website is easy to navigate, and Insurance alternatives are clearly listed. In the past, travel issues were quickly and efficiently resolved by Travel Guard.

I don't know. I just HATE these things

We've been using Travel Guard for years, we usually do 2 to 3 trips a year. On 2 occasions we've had to file a claim, we provided the necessary information and we were paid as per the plan. Great Service!

I purchased a policy with travel guard after paying on my policy. I was told by my physician that I had to have surgery and could not travel for three weeks. I was told by the insurance company that I had to cancel my trip before I could apply for a refund on my policy after numerous paperwork, including the form I was denied as they said it was not insured on the date that I canceled it one day too soon with what I was told I’ve never had such a bad experience with any company. They didn’t answer my emails when I was denied I was warned against buying this policy. I should have also listened United Airlines penalize me $149 for canceling and gave me $190 for my next trip so all they had to pay me was $149 that I was out they never even offered to pay the premium that they refuse to return of $23 so I don’t advise anyone to do business with this company. This was the first time I ever had to file on a trip plan but several people told me they have loop poles that we don’t recognize because the policy is so intense paulette abel

This service is a scam. I lost $740 dollars to a cancelled reservation that was listed under their reasons. It’s absolutely worthless to purchase their insurance and they will make it extremely difficult for you to create a case.
