Joined Together Energy in 2019 which…

Joined Together Energy in 2019 which was worst decision ever. Had to contact Ombudsman who found them at fault resulting in large amount of money taken off final bill before they went down the pan. Arranged to pay debt by standing order which started in January 2023. I have not missed 1 payment and received threatening letter from Barratt Smith Brown in July 2023 which was sorted. The threating letters have started again Feb 2024, threatening to send collectors to my house to collect money or goods to the value which will affect my credit rating. It looks like I will need to contact solicitor or ombudsman again. They say the debt is still £583 but so far I have paid £408 which only leaves £107 to pay. I have had nothing but grief from the day that I signed up to Together Energy.

Shocking experience!

Terrible experience from start to finish! Customer service was shocking and could never actually speak about any of the multiple problems that occurred with my bill almost every month. They potentially owed me money when they went into administration, but somehow managed to tweak their books to give me a £694 bill. Barrett, smith and whoever have hounded me and threatened court hearings , which is disgusting based on the info I provided them with. Just no way of 100% proving my case as all info down the pan with TE.

Together Energy is in administration…

Together Energy is in administration and its alleged debts are being pursued by a debt collection agency. My own experience of Together Energy was that their accounting system was very unreliable to say the least. I suggest that you consult Facebook and look for Together Energy Customer Support Group which contains useful information.

awful debt letter for my deceased mother

Last week my father received a letter in the name of my deceased mother ( who died 6th June 2020) stating that she owed £1,029 for energy bill. Funny thing we closed account after my mothers death and when contacting Together Energy and giving them an accurate meter reading that day, we were told she was £1,029 in credit and it was refunded back into the account the direct debit came out of and we changed suppliers the same day to EON. When contacting Barratt Smith & Brown solicitors dealing with the case they were very cagy and asked if i could email a copy of my mothers death certificate, which i have since done. I have since heard of two close friennds that have witness the same threatening letters

Was with Together Energy for one awful year…

Was with Together Energy for a year 2020 to 2021. They overcharged me, would not communicate with me, wildly overestimated my electricity consumption. Finally I escaped from them only to now be harrassed by Barratt Smith and brown threatening me with debt collectors and my credit rating being ruined and I have no debt to pay with Together Energy. They have come back to haunt me. It is totally disgraceful. Also barratt Smith and brown are nearly impossible to communicate with which is equally disgraceful

Have had harassing calls from this…

Have had harassing calls from this company for months keep leaving me voicemails so finally had the time today to ring them as I work away on the road. Never had an account with together energy but when they answer phone they state a different company name. Gave the lad what for on the phone and told him if they didn't stop calling my number I would take them to court for harrasment calls which is after the fact I've told them to stop ringing me. Unless they supply my van with gas and electric which I live in on the road for my job, which they obviously don't. Obviously absolute doghnuts who haven't got a clue. Picked on the wrong person guys I won't take your rubbish!!

Scamming dog poo company

I was with together energy for a year or so, paid £90 a month in a 2 bed flat with two people (we work full time) and now with British Gas I pay the same and still don’t use up to £90 a month. I had a letter from together energy sayign I owe £871 !! As apprantly the 12 months I was with them my £90 a month wasn’t covering my electric. Even though now electric prices have gone up and we are only using roughly £67! I tried to contact them with emails etc and nothing for weeks. Had a letter to say it was going to debt collectors I know for a FACT I owe them nothing. But I really don’t know where to go from here !!! Anyone have any advice please? The ombusdman can’t help as the company has gone bust, I don’t know who there debt collectors are to contact and prove I was paying etc. it’s driving me mad! How do these people get away with it!!!!!!

Together Energy, Scam or what!

Also had a letter using their Together Energy headed paper with the title in the middle "Notice of Intent", this is to scare you.

Saying they have tried to communicate with me. Update today, they have confirmed, add I requested a SARs request, that they had not communicated with me, I also asked them for the telephone recordings they days they had made, they are none made as they didn't try to ring me, pure liars, so at the administrators.

They went bust 4th Feb 2022 and according to OFGEM my and everyone's accounts including any debts was transferred to British Gas, so you owe them money not be these scanners.

They too have given me 7 days to pay, again, this is to scare you.

No doubt either some one employee or otherwise is using their database to obtain money illegally or someone has bought their databases and is using it illegally.

If the letters came from a different busy like a liquidator it administrator surely they would have used their own letterhead and explained who they are and what they are doing.

Basically in these letters they scare you with a bank account to pay within like 7 days. I never got any communication from my old Together Energy which was given to British Gas back in February 4th this year's, that's 10 months ago, then all of a sudden I get this letter, not even signed off by anyone.

This surely is a scam to pay into an account set up to get people money by scarring them.

What do others think?

I am not scared, if this is genuine I am happy to go to court and will counter sue for the stress they have bestowed on me currently.

I am so angry, but I feel sorry for our senior citizens who don't know better and will pay regardless.

Together Energy

Joined together energy back in 2017. Initially was happy with them. They estimated my usage and I happily paid by direct debit. Always kept an eye out on my account to ensure I stayed in credit.
In 2019/2020 together energy stopped sending me bills/statements despite me writing and phoning. Together energy changed their portal during my time with them and a bill eventually emerged of me owing them in excess of £6000. When I spoke with them they agreed it was a mistake and to ignore it. Several months on another bill arrived, again for a ridiculous sum in excess of £5000. On this occasion when I spoke with them, I discussed my annual usage with them emphasising that usage and billing don't concur. Their response was to increase my direct debit.
I've had so many conversations and different bills now that I believe they just make up figures.
Together energy keep telling me that they will get a senior manager to contact me but like others on this platform all I receive is threatening letters (Notice of Intent)
Has anyone got any advice on where we all go from here. Ombudsmen wont take the case up and British Gas who we're with now also able to get involved.

This company is run by cowboys (or worse)

This company - now in the hands of receivers - is chasing me for money I have already paid. This seems to me a common thread on feedback. I am undergoing treatment for cancer and the stress caused by these peope along with the events of the past two years, must be unhelpful to say the least. I am exploring the potential to refer Together energy to the Fraud police because it seems to me that they have and still are operating in a manner completely out of the ordinary for ANY legitimate business.
I have never failed to pay utility bills in my very long life and never have I come across such a disaster as Together Energy.

Disgusted by "customer service"

Absolutely disgusted by the customer (lack of) service from Together Energy. We switched energy suppliers back in July 2021 when we moved into the property, paid Together Energy our final bill (for June-July 2021). Over a year later, I get a "final bill" from Together Energy claiming we owe them over £400. I've repeatedly told them that they've made an error, they've not been our supplier since we moved in, and they had the nerve to get annoyed as "the tenants after you could have stayed with us" - what? We're allowed to switch suppliers, and we left the property in June 2022 as construction work is taking place, there are no next tenants, and they wouldn't have been with Together Energy anyway.

I'm sick of having to reiterate the facts over and over again, the emails from Together Energy are frankly unprofessional.

I was paying a separate direct debit as…

I was paying a separate direct debit as I moved into my parents house and I breed tarantulas which they need heat, I worked out it was £80 month more so I madexa separate direct debit and paid it over 17 months. They kept sending a bill saying we owed this money and I contacted them numerous amounts of time telling them. It was never put onto the same account. In the end we moved to EON, BUT it followed us and I can't get these people at all. Shambles of a company
