Damaged baggage seems to be someone else's fault
Received a damaged baggage after flying from Brazil to Chile, took pictures and used their damaged baggage report system. All that to be told after a few days that I should handle it directly with Iberia, and report it to them, completely washing their hands out of a problem their subcontractor caused.
I chose to fly Sky as a customer, and trusted Sky with my baggage. If someone else down the chain mishandled it, that's Sky's problem to solve, not mine.
Flight from Lima to Arequipa
Flight from Lima to Arequipa, was almost arriving in Arequipa and we had to go back because of bad weather condicions. We had to stay in Lima another night because we were put on a flight the next morning. No hotel and good provided, very bad customer experience. Some workers said we could have food service, the supervisor told us we did not have right to the food service. Worst airline ever, never again!!
Excellent service!
I have to admit that at first I was a little nervous about booking a ticket with this airline because of all the negative reviews I had read. However, there weren’t many other options available for our trip from Lima to Cusco, so we decided to fly with SKY.
To my surprise, everything was excellent. We travelled with our 6-year-old son and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We were given priority boarding because we were travelling with a child, as they offer priority for children up to 12 years old. We also received the first 23 kg checked bag free of charge.
The flight itself went very smoothly as well.
Thank you very much, SKY! We had a great experience and will definitely fly with you again. 😊
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Due to a documented medical issue, they confirmed a refund that was supposed to arrive within 10 days; however, after a month, two follow-ups, and two open cases, they have gone silent.
Horrible, shameful, worst fligth experience
Horrible Support, Super Rude Staff, and no Compensation for wrongfully denying the boarding.
I am an indian citizen holiding schengen residence permit. With the schengen residence permit, a seprate tourist visa is not required to enter Dominican Republic, and yet they denied me to board the flight.
On May 17, 2026, I was denied the boarding from Lima Airport to a flight to Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), Checkin staff told me that my belgian residence permit did not qualify. I immediately asked for a written document where it qualifies as not a proof. I later later received written clarification from the Dominican Republic Consulate in Brussels, stating that all EU residence permits are valid for tourist travel without a visa. I asked the airline to provide the legal basis or Timatic record supporting the denial, but their initial response did not address that question. Even till date in July 28th, they havent answered the question, I have lodged a complain against the airline to INDECOPI, but it seems its irrelavant, as they never respond.
Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience. The ticket stated a 15 kg baggage allowance, but it actually only included a small personal item that had to fit under the seat. Although the dimensions were listed, most passengers naturally focus on the weight rather than the measurements. If the ticket had clearly stated “small bag that fits under the seat,” I would have chosen a different airline.
My personal impression is that this system is designed in a way that leads passengers into making the wrong assumption about what baggage is actually included. The focus on the weight allowance creates the impression of a good deal, but the reality is very different. What initially appears to be a cheap ticket can end up being much more expensive once baggage restrictions and additional charges are taken into account.
This caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience while travelling with my young children. At Barcelona Airport, I saw many other passengers facing exactly the same issue, which suggests that the information is not as clear as it should be.
Customer service on WhatsApp was also extremely frustrating. I spent a long time interacting with a chatbot that repeatedly asked for the same information instead of providing a simple and clear explanation.
Based on my experience, I would not fly with Sky again and would recommend that future passengers carefully check all baggage conditions before booking.
The worst experience I've ever had when…
The worst experience I've ever had when trying to book a flight. Constant error messages that don't then explain the issue. Meaning I have no idea how to solve the issue. I have tried over 10 times and wasted 2 hours of my holiday. I think we will have to give up and find another route.
A complete shambles from check-in to landing — avoid at all costs
Where do I even begin. My experience with Sky Airline was, without question, one of the most frustrating and poorly managed travel experiences I have ever had the misfortune of enduring. I would not wish it on anyone.
Before I even set foot on the plane, the trouble started at the check-in desk. Staff informed me that I needed to produce a forward ticket to my destination country — a requirement never clearly communicated beforehand — and refused to let me board without it. When I requested to speak with a manager or supervisor, things went from bad to worse. Not a single member of staff, including those in a supervisory role, could hold a basic conversation in English. This is, apparently, an international airline. The fact that no one at the gate could assist an international passenger in the world’s most widely spoken language is not just an inconvenience — it is an embarrassment.
Once on board, the problems continued. The cabin was repeatedly sprayed — some form of disinfectant or insecticide — with virtually no ventilation to speak of. The airflow was non-existent, making the cabin stuffy and deeply uncomfortable from takeoff to landing.
Then there is the pricing. Sky Airline presents itself as a budget carrier, but once you factor in baggage fees, seat selection, and every other hidden charge they pile on, the supposed savings evaporate entirely. You end up paying a comparable price to a full-service carrier — except without any of the service, comfort, or professionalism. LATAM and other major airlines operating out of Chile offer a vastly superior experience for often the same or slightly higher base fare. The difference in quality is night and day.
The staff, from check-in to cabin crew, were simply not equipped to handle international passengers. Whatever training they have received — if any — has clearly not prepared them for the realities of operating on international routes. I will never fly Sky Airline again, and I would strongly urge anyone with a choice in the matter to book elsewhere. Save yourself the stress, and spend the extra money on an airline that actually knows what it is doing.
Impossible to fit in their extremely…
Impossible to fit in their extremely compressed legroom unless you are less than 150 tall
A horrible experience
This is the worst airline I have flown. From the check in to the boarding to the in flight service.
SCAM AIRLINE: (please fire Caroline Gonazles at Lima airport)
DO NOT BOOK THIS AIRLINE!!!!
Especially don’t talk to this woman… CAROLINE GONAZALES who is standing up in the she is at the Lima airport… and the woman next to her who laughed to our faces when we claimed we purchased and have a right to a carry on. She said we have to pay her. This is after 20 minutes of her being slow to begin with. Then she LAUGHED again when we said we needed to go cusco for doctor appointment because my wife has a miscarriage. She said we are unfit to travel. No documentation supported we couldn’t go but all of a sudden she’s a “doctor” Girl- who tf are you?
That woman probably knows nothing of being pregnant.. and she’s a disgrace to the airline. We couldn’t board and wouldn’t give us our suitcases back after a couple hours. She didn’t care.
SHE LIED by the way that she talked to the supervisor and said HE said we couldn’t go. THAT MAN ADMITTED HE KNEW NOTHING OF THIS. She’s a liar.
Give us our money back. We want compensation for putting us through this distress and not letting us board and making us pay after we already paid for our carry on. Ew.
Worst airline I have ever flown with
Worst airline I have ever flown with. As a family of four with two young children, we booked four seats together in row 28, and this was confirmed via email. Then a few weeks before the flight, they emailed to say that our two young children had been moved to row 12. Seriously, they split us up and put our two young kids on the other side of the aircraft. What’s the point of booking and paying for seats if they don’t honour it? And how is it ethical to seperate children from their families. I tried to get this fixed with Sky but they have zero internet in resolving it and zero compassion. I fly regularly and have never encountered such vile treatment from an airline. Never again with Sky
In the process of seeing how much of…
In the process of seeing how much of the initial value I would be returned if I filed a refund claim, I accidentally filled it out online. Not once, did I see or find the value for how much money would be refunded for the two plane tickets I bought.Only at the end, when it was too late, did I see the value. I would be refunded $36.06 for plane tickets that cost me $386.58. I ended up losing 90% of value of the plane tickets. I contacted customer service, hoping to find a solution. Who would be happy about losing so much money? I was more than willing to pay more money and move the date of the plane ticket, only to be informed that nothing could be done. In my opinion, it seems like Sky Airlines has predatory business practices. I searched online and it seems others have similar experiences. Be careful.
SKY AIRLINE BETTER THAN AIR FRANCE???
In a recent experience SKY AIRLINE delivers better customer support than AIR FRANCE, even if I am a Sky Team member travelling in business class.
The difference is that there are processes with SKY when with AIR FRANCE, you are facing staff who mostly do not care and therefore the support would only be idiosyncratic.
On December 13, our luggage did not make the connection between Aerolinas Argentinas and SKY in Buenos Aires. We filed a report with SKY Lost and Found in Santiago.
Unfortunately since they thought they could retrieve our luggage before our Business Class flight back to Paris with AIR FRANCE, they indicated Santiago as the Airport and our hotel as our address.
Unfortunately again, the luggage could not make the Air France flight on the 14th but was sent on the 15th flight to Paris.
On arrival in Paris CDG on the 14th, I went to the Air France Luggage Counter to inform them of the problem and asked them to take note of my contacts (phone number and email).
But, since the luggage was lost by SKY in the AIR FRANCE system the information were showing Santiago as the delivery airport and the hotel in Santiago as our address.
Therefore, despite the hundred of phone calls with AIR FRANCE Lost and Found department, where nobody cares, telling me it was SKY responsibility, the luggage arrived in Paris CDG on the 16th (we were following it with a tracker) but was sent back to Santiago.
It was there that the miracle occurs.
SKY Lost and Found in Santiago responded to my messages, managed to send the luggage on the December 18th AIR FRANCE flight to Paris after changing the delivery information in the system (connecting to the AIR FRANCE system, I could see it when AIR FRANCE Lost and Found did not even care looking).
On the 19th, I managed to retrieve my luggage in Paris CDG.
However, it was very difficult with almost no support from AIR FRANCE Baggage Staff at Paris CDG, but this is another story that will be the object of my review of AIR FRANCE Service.
SKY AIRLINES IS THE WORST (SCAM)
SKY AIRLINES IS THE WORST AIRLINE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH — DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
This company is a COMPLETE DISASTER. The staff is unbelievably rude, untrained, and acts like they’re doing you a favor just by existing. They overbook flights, overcharge for everything, and their “low-cost” marketing is a straight-up joke.
Their website is PURPOSELY BROKEN so you’re forced to buy luggage at the airport for DOUBLE OR TRIPLE THE PRICE. It’s a SCAM, and they know exactly what they’re doing.
Because of the insane stress and chaos SKY created, I had a full anxiety attack right there at the airport — and SKY DID NOTHING.
NO HELP. NO MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. NOT EVEN BASIC HUMAN DECENCY.
Passengers — NOT THE STAFF — were the only ones who helped me. SKY literally watched and didn’t care.
The boarding process is a circus, the staff behaves like everything is your fault, and the cabin itself is a nightmare.
THE PLANE WAS HOT — NO AC, NO AIRFLOW — IT FELT UNSAFE AND MISERABLE.
SKY AIRLINES DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. NOT YOUR SAFETY. NOT YOUR HEALTH. NOT YOUR MONEY. NOTHING.
THIS AIRLINE SHOULD NOT BE OPERATING. IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM, A STRESS TRAP, AND A WASTE OF MONEY.
SAVE YOURSELF THE NIGHTMARE — DO NOT FLY SKY AIRLINES.
Appalling business practices
Appalling business practices. I purchased a fully refundable flight, which I ended up needing to cancel. At first they told me I would only get the taxes back, then when I pointed out that it was fully refundable they put me on hold for about 20 minutes and returned to tell me it was refundable EXCEPT for the taxes, which is obviously total nonsense if taxes are refundable on a non-refundable flight! In any case, two months later the refund has not materialised and I have had to resort to going through my credit card company to recoup this charge.
Outrageous fees at the gate for minimally oversized bags, not full refund for a cancelled flight
Super annoying. Had to pay an outrageous sum for a check-in bag which exceeded by 0.5 cm in one dimension the maximum (other bags were much smaller). For a cancelled flight they don't offer full refund on their web. Emails to customer service about the issue remain unanswered.
Worst experience of my entire life
Worst experience of my entire life. Customer service is extremely unprofessional and nobody is able to solve issues. If you call, the representatives tell you one thing, but the staff at the desk say something completely different.
I paid $115 for my luggage from Miami to Cusco. When I arrived in Lima, they told me the charge was not in the system and that I had to pay again. I had to call the customer service line about five times before finally being allowed to continue to Cusco without paying again.
Now on my return trip from Cusco to Miami, they are charging me $164 for the exact same luggage I originally brought from Miami. That’s almost $60 more. I spoke with representatives on the phone, at the desk, and even the manager—but nobody could help. The manager in Cusco simply told the representative at the desk, “give them everything so they can go,” without actually trying to resolve the issue. They all said the system could not be modified. The system was even showing charges like $82 for a carry-on!
This is unacceptable. Stay away from this airline. Worst experience of my life. It’s a scam.
Although I must acknowledge that the overall customer service experience was extremely disappointing, I do want to highlight something positive: the pilots were excellent, and the in-cabin customer service was also very good.
Dont do it
Dont do it. Don't book with this airline. You pay double in the end because their hand luggage restriction is the smallest I ever saw - my bag was never rejected before in my life.
Fly LATAM
Fly LATAM, they cover the same routes and won't charge you extra at check in for hand luggage you already paid for. I've never had to pay extra for my hand luggage - even with Ryanair. With SKY yes. Also we saw half of their flights cancelled at the gate when others were fine
