21-Day Delivery Made My Order Completely Useless

I ordered a Starlink kit and service directly from Starlink.com because I urgently needed a temporary replacement for my home internet before moving.

Five days passed with no shipment and no meaningful updates. Only then did Starlink inform me that delivery would take another 9–16 days. That meant a total wait of up to 21 days from the date I placed the order.

By then, I would no longer be living at the delivery address, making the order completely useless. I had no choice but to cancel it.

If delivery can take up to three weeks, customers should be told that before they place an order—not after five days of waiting.

The refund was processed almost immediately after I canceled the order, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, that does not change the fact that the delivery time made the service unusable for my needs.

I cannot recommend ordering directly from Starlink if you need the equipment quickly.

I have seen so many negative reviews

I have seen so many negative reviews, I thought it only right to put a positive review.

Ordered a Starlink Mini direct from the website using a referral code. The equipment arrived in 4 days, a day later than originally stated by DHL and a lot quicker than the predicted delivery time given on the website.

Setup is straightforward using the Starlink app. I use Stalink in a touring caravan when phone signal is unreliable or non existent. The dish is placed on the roof and powered by a 230v socket in an external locker. I could power it from a power bank or other 12v supply if needed and I purchased a camera tripod for mounting options but only used the kick stand so far. The built is router is wifi 5 and has worked well on reasonably sized site pitches. You can add an external router if wifi range is an issue.

I use the Roam 100 plan with 2 adults and a child. 100GB has been fine on short weekend trips but data can get consumed very quickly, especially if using firesticks. Turning down the streaming quality on your devices is an option or paying more for Roam Unlimited. If on a longer stay I have switched to one of the residential plans with no issues. Residential means you lose the in motion option which I haven't used and you need to change the service location on the app or website.

Starlink is not a replacement for full fibre. It can be expensive but if you are in places where you can't get reliable mobile data or 100mbps + fibre speeds, Starlink is a very good alternative.

After 30 days of service I received 1 month free service thanks to using a referral code.

Very happy so far.

Life saver!! Honest review

Wanted to write an honest review in the hope it helps someone else :)

my experience has been great with starlink! I live in a town where unfortunately its the only estate in the town that doesnt have FTTP only FTTC.. didnt know this when i moved, so had no choice but to go with EE for the internet which is absolute garbage 20mbs max DL speed and thats on a good day most days i was only getting 14mbs and like 1mps upload - i work from home so this was no good for me at all.

Needed to find a solution as no plans for FTTP to be installed here anytime soon... so did some research and found starlink, i looked into it alot did research to understand how it works.

Decided to go for it, ordered the kit directly with starlink which was £0 rental fees for my area just had to pay for delivery about 19£. It arrived within about 5 days from ordering it.

I bought a 50£ wall mount bracket for it from amazon and got a local TV/internet tech guy who used to work for BT to come and install it for me which was super easy and cost me £70 for install which is a really good price, you do not need to pay an "approved installer" hundreds of pounds to fit this!! one company quoted 600£ which is absolute madness, if you are handy with DIY stuff (which i am not) you could easily install it yourself.

The app is great and super easy to use to get it up and running it shows you the best place to put it to avoid obstructions and shows you how to make sure its aligned correctly. Once mounted and router plugged in instant internet connection, speed test in the app within minutes of turning on the router 100mbs DL and 35 UL - which for me is blazing fast fantastic compared to what i was getting with EE on the arcaic FTTC connection.

I have the 100mbs residental plan as this is more than enough for what i need - easily handles teams calls, working from home, streaming TV services, general internet browsing with multiple devices connected.

Yes it is very expensive at £40 a month - but for me it was my only option to have great internet which is essential for my life and work so i pay it, honestly its been a life saver for me!!

ive been using it for around 3 weeks now, have been running speed tests most days and on peak times at weekends/evenings and i have never had a speed less than 80mbs DL, its pretty consistent. It has become just the internet to me where you dont even need to think about it rather than my EE connection that gave constant issues, always worrying about it, buffering, crashing, cant get online, rebooting and i would highly recommend it for anyone who is in a similar situation where you cannot access FTTP.

Weather conditions - do not affect it as much as people seem to think, so please dont read into that even on a cloudy day im still getting 100mbs - it would only be affected by a really bad storm which is rare and even then its unlikely to be less than 60-80mbs which is still 3-4 times better than my EE line.

I cant speak of the customer service as i have not had to contact them, i know this is where most of the poor reviews come from.

I hope this helps someone out there - for me its actually been a life saver!! :)

Very bad experience

Very bad experience. It barely works. They lure you with a decent offer and 2 months later jump up the price by 20%. They then offer you free service to improve performance, come by after about 2 weeks of delays, non-showings, arriving at 20:30 while booking the visit at 12:00, charge €100 for installing costs, and the performance gets even worse. I'm now typing this on my phone as Starlink isn't working anymore while before the "free service" it was, barely but better than nothing.

They con you with 'promotional rates' without telling you how long for!

Nothing wrong with the service, its just the billing; got it installed in Apr on a promotional rate of £23 a month; after 2 months I got an email on 17 May, saying my bill was going up to $40 from June; another email on 28 May saying there was no immediate change to my bill as I was on a promotional rate; they have now billed me £40 (not $40); I can only talk to an AI bot who just keeps saying it was on my invoice and refuses to explain why the second email was sent and also cannot evidence as to where i was told the promotional rate was only for 2 bills!

When it works great.....

My system stopped working. The bot said a replacement system was being sent out. 2 days later its still "preparing". No UK stock, so I'll be down 10 days. Simply not good enough for a £75 a month service.

Get a grip Elon.

Starlink needs to ask for reviews as I’m difficult to impress but they’ve more than achieved that!

I’m so glad that I listened to my neighbours and for once, not to TrustPilot - as I wouldn’t have ordered it otherwise due to the damming reviews on here. I use TP for everything so this was a big decision as they are usually quite fair. In this case, Starlink in my experience is head and shoulders over and above brilliant.

I needed to bin EE and where I am, there are not many options for fast broadband. It took a while to get it installed but I was able to get it up and running beautifully myself in minutes of its arrival…(female, pensioner),,, the chap came over yesterday & made a very tidy job on the roof. Not quite getting 200mg but near enough - somewhat better than the max that EE could deliver at 21mg… yes, I had problems with getting my address recognised which was frustrating - and the automated customer service wasn’t the nicest experience but it worked… the kit seems robust - the price is fair despite the recent increase… 5 star review not difficult against a shabby -1 star for EE/BT.

This Starlink company is the worse

This Starlink company is the worse. They're a scam. They lure customers with their fake promotions and then when you sign up with them the following month they bump the price and change terms which is what they did to me after making a hole in my walls to connect the cables leaving me with the repair tab for that hole. Absolutely scammed. Oh and good luck in trying to get someone from customer service to contact you back. It took days before they email a response. No live agent.

DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY

I can’t put 0 so 1 will have to suffice. Absolute joke of a company, it’s took over 4 weeks to dispatch the equipment now DHL have lost it! DHL claim I should contact Starlink, starlink claim I should contact DHL and start a claim. My contract is with Starlink and they should sort this. Of course all you get off both DHL and Starlink is an AI bot that has all the intelligence of garden gnome. No telephone number or e mail to write to. I just want my deposit back!!!!!!!

Then when I installed it they spend 4 days telling me I was setting it up in the wrong location!
When there customer staff finally answered they agreed their location software wasn't compatible with Irish Eircodes or Google maps. Pathetic.
Once running....it was good.
Next communication was that they are reducing speed from 500 to 200. 1 month .
Next month a price increase.
So good product but pure greed and terrible customer care mean I will be leaving.
Be warned!!

In the meanwhile Starlnk sends me a couple of mails in which they order me to return the hardware , otherwise I have to pay 286,00 euro. They can reach me but I cannot reach them . Only once I had the same experience with another company that was Temu .I do now understand how Elon Musk earns his Money !

Terrible Customer Service

The poor customer service or lack of any customer service at all from Starlink is astoundingly bad. I never received any equipment from Starlink to set up the service. I was simply consistently informed that my order was "pending". They sent some free mini kit, which was delivered to a DHL office a train ride away from my home. Which I did not collect. I then received an email telling me they were increasing the prices of the service. I contacted them to cancel (still not having received the equipment). Despite never having received any equipment I am stuck in an AI system trying to establish why they have not cancelled my order. Please avoid the stress of using Starlink if you can - it's not worth it.

Worst customer service ever!!!

1 month ago, I ordered a Starlink Mini on their website. There was a glitch and my order got cancelled. Upon receiving the email that my order got cancelled, I ordered another unit. They charged me for both units, even though I only received one of them. When I contacted customer service, they told me to wait for the refund for my cancelled order, as it sometimes takes a few days. After 2 weeks, I never received my refund even after several attempts to contact customer service. I then disputed the charge with my credit card company. The next day, I received an email stating that my account was disabled due to suspicious activity. I think that my dispute must have triggered something in their system. Since that day, I have been locked out of my account and my satellite is not working. I have attempted to get help for about 2 weeks now, but it is impossible to get a live person to help. I'm still being charged for a service that I can't access.

Starlink Max = Speed test speeds are made up.

So I have the Starlink Max broadband, and its unreliable at best, utter rubbish at worst. I'm supposed to be getting 300MB+ with my subscription, but my Starlink struggles to have one person doing a video call on WhatsApp and another person gaming online. In my estimation collectively that should amount to approximately 100 to 150MB of usage, but the whole platform just rejects the gaming platform completely and freezes the WhatsApp call making the call drop in and out. Would I recommend Starlink? No, not at all. The Starlink app 'Speed Test' quotes speeds of 300MB+ which are clearly b***sh**.
