I left it late to organise a taxi from a fairly remote hotel, 90 mins from Barcelona. The wedding planner I spoke to gave me some local numbers, but they were all fully booked. Thankfully I found Kiwitaxi - the website was unbelievably easy to use, and the price I received was far better than the metered option I'd found elsewhere. I even had to change my pickup time, again this was very easy via the website. My driver turned up 15 mins early - all in all excellent and I will 100% be using their service again. Thanks!

Our travel agent booked a transfer for…
Our travel agent booked a transfer for us (3 adults and luggage) from Zurich Central Station to Hotel in Zurich and also from the Hotel to Zurich Airport.
On the booking voucher it stated definitely to stay and wait at the platform for the driver who would show up with a sign with our name on it. We had no Simcard for Switzerland as we only stayed 2 nights and therefor had no internet and no whatsapp. We waited for about 20 minutes and nobody showed up. We then got a Esim card and contacted Kiwitaxi. There was some confusion until the driver sent his photo and then he was there, no sign with our names on. He was very upset because he had tried to contact us and could not. He also had parked where he should not and was going off about how little he earned and that he could be fined for 100 Franken . Which is not our problem !
The day after that day the travel agent had booked the same big car to fetch us from the hotel and take us to the airport at 07h00. At about 20h00 at night the driver contacted us to ask how many people we were and how many pieces of luggage there were. We gave him the info . He then said we had booked the wrong car and he would have to look for another car and that would cost extra. He asked again for details of the luggage and we wrote to him that we had 3 big suitcases, 1 cabin size suitcase , 1 backpack and 2 pieces of hand luggage. Altogether 7 pieces of luggage. Thereafter no contact. We then phoned the travel agent and asked what we should do. She contacted Kiwi Taxi and they told her that they were under the impression that we had 7 pieces of large suitcases. Which was a lie and we had it all in writing.
We did not know whether they would pick us up the next morning. Fortunately we were picked up in time and taken to the airport.
We will certainly never book with Kiwi Taxi again.

Regarding the first transfer, we can confirm that there was an issue with the meeting arrangements, and we are currently reviewing and resolving this matter with our service team.
For the second transfer, the booking was confirmed and remained valid, and the transfer was ultimately provided as scheduled. We are nevertheless sorry for the uncertainty and inconvenience caused by the communication regarding the vehicle and luggage.
We understand how frustrating this situation must have been, especially while travelling without a local SIM card, and we regret that the experience did not meet your expectations.
We have been reviewing this case with our team over the past few days and will continue working with your travel agency to clarify the details. For any compensation-related request, however, we kindly ask you to contact the travel agency directly, as the booking was made through them.

Early contact, safe driver, extremely polite and professional
The driver contacted in English around an hour before departure which meant we were able to move the time earlier as we were ready before we expected to be. He was extremely polite, stopped and bought us water along the way, drove really safely and played excellent music!

Last minute booking - perfect!
Porto, Portugal: We booked last minute and had a lot of luggage and a dog in a crate. The van turned up on time, and the driver was great. We were making a very important trip so we really appreciated how reliable and trustworthy the kiwi taxi was. The online booking was easier (after we selected our home address, which was a bit hard). Booked vehicle was downgraded
Our family of 4 was traveling internationally for a hike (TMB). We booked and paid for a 4 Pax minivan on the kiwitaxi site. We were picked up in a compact SUV. Our checked luggage, 3 suitcases and 1 duffle bag, barely fit in the rear. Our carry on luggage had to ride under our feet or on our laps for a 2 hour drive. This was not merely a luggage problem. This vehicle was not wide enough for 3 adults across the back seat. We were packed like sardines. To make matters worse, the problem could not be addressed because Kiwitaxi contracts out. The service that picked us up took no responsibility. We followed up with Kiwitaxi later and they stood by their decision on the vehicle they gave us. Note that we simply do not agree on the luggage. The airline had no problem accepting our baggage as standard size. Their response follows.
As we previously confirmed, the partners provided a vehicle that matches the correct class for your booking. The car brands shown on our website are for reference only and may vary. One day prior to the start of the trip, we will send you the contact number of the host party. If you need to know the exact model of car, please contact the dispatcher on the phone numbers provided.
Our partners reported that loading your luggage was challenging at the meeting point, as the suitcases and duffle bags exceeded both the number and the size limits for this vehicle class (4 pieces of standard luggage, with total dimensions per piece not exceeding 63 inches or 158 cm). The partners have also provided photos showing that the bags were larger than the standard size.

Private transfer not provided, driver left, and Kiwitaxi refused to refund
Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend relying on Kiwitaxi for airport transfers if timing and responsibility are important.
I booked and fully paid for a private transfer with Kiwitaxi from Koskinou to Rhodes Airport, booking ID 2991850. I paid more than a regular taxi because I expected a reliable private transfer service.
The driver arrived in the morning, and I contacted him asking to wait around 20 minutes. I also called and messaged him. Instead of waiting, the driver left and wrote that he had another transfer and could not wait. Because of this, I could not use the transfer and had to urgently look for another way to get to the airport, which caused serious stress and made me late for my flight.
I contacted Kiwitaxi support immediately and sent them screenshots of the conversation with the driver. Their support told me that hotel waiting time is only 15 minutes, but this was not clearly communicated to me before in a way that would justify the driver leaving and the company keeping the full payment. Also, the driver himself mentioned 20 minutes, while support later insisted on 15 minutes, which made the situation even more confusing.
What is most disappointing is that Kiwitaxi refused to refund me at all, even though the service was not provided. They called it a “prepayment,” but I fully paid for the transfer in advance. This was not a shared shuttle or public transport — it was a private transfer.

We'd like to clarify what happened in this case. Your transfer was scheduled for 5:30 AM. For hotel and address pick-ups, 15 minutes of complimentary waiting time are included with every booking. This information is clearly stated in both the booking voucher and our Terms & Conditions. While our drivers are sometimes able to wait longer if their schedule allows, this is unfortunately not something we can guarantee.
According to the trip details, your driver arrived on time and was ready for the transfer. At 5:41 AM, you contacted the driver asking him to wait approximately another 20 minutes. This would have extended the total waiting time to over 30 minutes, which is more than double the complimentary waiting period included with your booking. Unfortunately, on that day the driver had subsequent confirmed transfers and was unable to extend the waiting time further without affecting other passengers' journeys.
We completely understand that this was a disappointing situation, and we're sorry that there was a misunderstanding regarding the waiting policy. We also appreciate that the communication during the trip may have added to the confusion.
As the driver arrived as scheduled, waited within the complimentary waiting period, and fulfilled the service in accordance with the agreed booking conditions, our support team reviewed the case based on the Terms & Conditions accepted at the time of booking. For this reason, we were unfortunately unable to issue a refund.
We sincerely regret that your journey began this way and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We hope we will have the opportunity to restore your confidence in Kiwitaxi in the future and provide you with the smooth, reliable service we always strive to deliver.
