My car was leaking water, and not wanting to pay tow charges, I decided to try Instant Car Fix. That turned out to be a big mistake. The mechanic came, told me what was wrong, and said he’d be back the next day—but I didn’t see him for three days. He fixed the manifold gasket, a pipe, and did a coolant flush. The car was still leaking, and he then said I needed a water pump. He told me the company would charge another $500 to replace it, on top of the $2,000 I had already paid, but offered to do it for $100. Again, he said he’d be back, but I never saw him again. I ended up paying the tow charge to Firestone, where they had to redo everything Instant Car Fix had done. My biggest issue is that, as a mechanic, he should have known to check the water pump first. And for some mysterious reason, my gas pedal was disconnected, which made no sense, since it has nothing to do with the water leak.
I will never use Instant Car Fix or any other mobile mechanic. It was an expensive lesson so take it from me, do not trust them. They are overpriced and do not complete the work. Scam!
