I have dealt with this Company, I.D.S., for more than 30 years. Their service is excellent, products of a high quality, prices reasonable and postal deliveries fast. Good, friendly Company.

After more than ten years of purchasing from IDS I never thought I would have to write this review. All over one pair of shoes, I ordered a Capezio Nova size uk 3 measuring 22.5cm and received a shoe measuring 17cm, not a Uk 3. Normally if I make a mistake in ordering I would keep the item for stock but this was not my mistake. These shoes were so small I would have no use for them. That said I returned the shoe by 1st class because I am aware of your policy that if the mistake is in IDS error you would refund the postage. I have received my refund for the shoes but not my postage and not only that I have been made to feel that it was my fault, that I didn’t understand the shoe sizing, I have been banging my head against a brick wall as no one wants to admit IDS mistake. Ok I’ll suck up the postage but I have never in all my years been made to feel that I don’t know what I’m talking about. I wanted a Capezio Nova UK3 which is 22.5cm as stated on my invoice what I received was nothing of the sort. After being such a loyal customer for so many years I expected more. Shame on you IDS

Normally great experience with IDS. Just frustrating that some uniform items are out of stock for months on end. It has a knock on effect with our customers and makes it difficult to run a business where we insist on uniform but can't provide it when it's purchased through our website shop.

IDS were great as always, costumes came super quick and beautifully packed in their bags, but the only nightmare we had is fedex left my three massive boxes outside my door, all torn, I wasn't in, and there was £3500 worth of costumes inside

I received somebody else’s order from International Dance Supplies as well as my own. After contacting them I was asked to return the items I had incorrectly received as it had been posted to me in error (their own error!). I returned the order in good faith and was promised compensation for postage. Over 2 weeks later I am still waiting for the cost of postage to be refunded despite constant promises. Out of principle I will not be using them again!

Edit - they are now stating that money was paid to me on 27th Feb although a member of staff told me on the 3rd March it still had not been done! Untrustworthy!

Absolutely terrible company with awful customer service.
When I called to chase my refund, the call centre receptionist told me I was wasting her time. Excuse me, what about the time I’ve had to waste chasing my own money? If she is paid to speak to customers, that attitude is completely unacceptable and unprofessional.
It got worse when the manager told me there is “no complaint policy” because everything “goes to her and she handles it”. No proper complaints procedure was explained at all, just a vague dismissal. That says everything about their standards and management.
I was forced to chase my refund right up to the final day of the 14-day period. They kept repeating “it will be processed within 14 days”, yet nothing happened. The deadline was Sunday and when I called on Friday late morning, it was still not processed. The only reason I got my money back was because I paid with PayPal and raised a dispute. Even then, the refund was less than what I paid.
They also make disputes difficult by dragging it out with endless questions about their mismatched products, codes and “reasons” as if you are returning a rare designer item, not their poor-quality goods. They did not respond to my email queries either.
You also pay your own delivery. The sizing is completely wrong and does not match the description, and the material is cheap and not worth the price.
I would never recommend this company.

Ordering is so easy. I love being able to see stock levels. Good quality costumes. Decent prices. Fast delivery.

Really helpful & friendly company. Slight challenge using my first time purchase discount code online & had to call for assistance. Team member was very helpful & provided a solution & payment was made manually. However, the order was not released & I received an email a few days later requesting payment. I called IDS & all was resolved quickly with my order arriving just in time for my Saturday classes! If the order had been processed on time this would have been 5 stars.

Update on my previous review: I have now received my order in good condition. As a dance school, it’s important to be able to start working with the lesson books and music CDs on time, so waiting a month without any response to several emails was quite frustrating. Fortunately, everything has turned out well in the end, but it’s a pity that contact was only made after I had posted a negative review. I will remove the review now that the order has been properly completed.

I placed an order on September 11th for teaching books and CDs for my dance school. A week later, to my surprise, I received a pair of children’s tap shoes that were meant for someone in France. After contacting the company, I was asked to return the package and was promised a refund for the shipping costs. It’s now been over a month — I still haven’t received my original order, and none of my three follow-up emails have been answered. No update either regarding the returned package. Extremely disappointing customer service.

The website is really easy to use, with the stock number and sizing information easily found.
I've also phoned them and the customer service is great!

I prefer to place orders over the phone. staff are always very helpful and efficient.
Dispatch and delivery are fast and the majority of items are in stock.
However on occasions some items are out of stock and sometimes can take several weeks to arrive.

Always so prompt with email responses. Everything is clear. Even when they're out of stock it's clear to see that your item would be on a back order. Easy to purchase and always had quick delivery.
