Reading the reviews here, honestly i was a bit affraid to order from helmexpress.com. But I did it and I have to state nothing, but great satisfaction! Order done on friday, goods received on very next tuesday in CZ! And about negative reviews from UK - guys-pls read the remarks and business conditions of the shop. There's mentioned on several places on the website, that the shop is not responsible for additional fees or taxes local for different countries! When You're just ordering and not reading all the e-shop website content, don't be surprised....And like mentioned by the previous review, the price was also much better, than in any CZ shop!

Was hesitant to order from here as the reviews weren’t great, most of them are complaining about getting charged import duty as this is an Austrian company. Also it’s considerably cheaper than anywhere else so was also sceptical about it being genuine. It does say before buying that you could get charged import duty ect. I bit the bullet because even if I did get charged, it would still work out cheaper than anywhere else. It took about 5 days to arrive and didn’t get charged import duty. The helmet was as described and was cheaper than anywhere else by a long shot, so I’m happy!

Bike helmet left their premises the same day as order was placed. Noticed some dummies leaving bad reviews for their own mistakes which isn’t fair on the seller. My own fault for not noticing it was subject to customs/duty fees due to being sent over to UK from Europe. Be aware that if your parcel courier charges VAT before you collect that you can claim this back as protective equipment like bike helmets are zero tariff so basically you can claim the VAT back - check gov uk website

I ordered a jacket. I am located in Belgium Everything went smooth. I got a very good deal and everything was packaged nicely. The order took about a week to get here. When I called helmexpress with a question regarding my delivery, they were easily reachable and they were helpfull.
I don't understand the negative reviews. Off course, if you live in the UK, there are surtain costs that apply. It is the same for Europeans ordering from the UK.

They do not have a returns process. They are spectacularly unhelpful. More fool me for not checking reviews. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE BASED IN THE UK!

Ordered Leki ski gloves. Arrived ahead of schedule and best price on market. Unfortunately the gloves had a manufacturer defect and the stitching split on day one. Contacted Helmeexpress. Received a helpful email within the hour and they efficiently contacted Leki and are sending replacement gloves. Amazing customer service and extremely efficient website and email correspondence. I would not hesitate to use again and recommend to friends.

Avoid like the plague - Especially in the UK.
They come up on search engines as a UK based company, but are actually Austrian.
Bought a helmet weeks ago, and they wash their hands once it crosses to the UK. Then days later I receive a letter from Parcel Force with a £114 VAT bill!
Basically makes this the most expensive helmet on the market and totally not worth the hassle.
Be warned that they clearly don't mark their goods with VAT included, so it's dodgy.

Purchased a HJC F70 Carbon helmet on 29 Dec 2022.Best UK online price was £399 .Helmexpress with 10% sign up discount was £200. I did have to pay £52 in vat and fees.I was aware that purchases over £135 would attract fees. Item took less than 7 days to arrive including the New year Bank holidays.

Sizes chart is approximate. High shipping cost. Bad return process. One buys in Germany and has to return to Austria. On own expenses of course. There is a loooooong way to go for this shop. They're like 20 years behind

WOW ordered a £550 coat on 4th Dec - it’s never turned up, dozens of emails and being told to wait and wait and wait, still not arrived 8weeks later. Unable to get my money back - seems clear the item is lost or not even sent??. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE IF YOU EXPECT HONEST REFUND, AS ITS NOT PART OF THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE of REFUND POLICY.

Helmet never delivered because Helmexpress never included the street address (or building name) on the package! Customer service never admitted their mistake ("post office delays" or "a system generated error"), blamed others and had no care for the inconvenience they caused. On 22nd November I ordered a Schuberth C5 as a Christmas present for my wife - Helmexpress completely screwed up the order. By 30th Nov the system showed it was stuck at a UK mail centre because it did not have a full address. When i chased on 7th and 12th Dec Helmexpress blamed the post office. It took many emails and nearly 8 weeks before I received a refund in mid January - they said it was a "goodwill gesture!" Helmexpress never acknowledged their basis mistake and never tried to make it right or to resend the helmet. Once they received the helmet back (25th Jan) they just sold it for a higher price to some other unsuspecting customer! They had enough disdain for their customer to tell me that "We made every effort to ensure that everything turned out in your favour." Laughable! I paid in full on 22nd Nov, gave a full address and never received the helmet. Helmexpress did nothing to correct their mistake and to send me the product i bought and paid for - hardly an ending where everything worked out in my favour. Really unprofessional, denied their own mistake and showed no care the customer inconvenience caused.

Searched for a while for the helmet i wanted and at a good price found it at helm express for alot less than ive seen. Read the reviews which were mixed. Ordered anyway on a sunday night and received my delivery in the Wednesday. All the way from germany. Everything perfect, very pleased, cannot fault at all. Keep up the good work 😀

Terrible customer service, they don't answer you thank god I paid with PayPal and got a refund. Stay away from this website they don't know how to work

I ordered a crash helmet from this company and then had a letter from parcel force asking for an extra £52 for vat and clearance fee. In fairness under the item price it does mention non EU countries may be subject to additional taxes, so I have to accept some fault for not spotting this. However at checkout it said no shipping costs and made no mention of custom taxes. If the company were transparent about how much custom taxes and clearance fees would charged be then I expect they would have better reviews but less enticed customer making the same mistake as me.

Ordered a helmet in September that was meant to be despatched beginning of October. The date has been pushed back 4 times (each time a week or so before despatch) and is currently showing as January. I would only order something that is in stock if you want it by a guaranteed date.....

I ordered a Kappa K49 top/luggage box, on 29/11/22. It arrived and was delivered on 05/12/22. It came very well packaged and undamaged. Excellent service!

To anyone commenting on the customs duties, since leaving the EU you are required to pay them for goods over £135.00. As for returns, I guess that is the risk you take ordering from outside the UK.....especially ordering clothing/kit you haven't tried on.

UK buyers beware.

I bought a handsfree using my phone - the site came up in English charging in Sterling, it was not obvious that it was a non UK site and that there would be customs charges. I would probably have spotted this on a desktop. Cue a £50 charge on a £196 item. I do not seem to be able to claim back the VAT that I have paid in the EU.
If this device is faulty I am stuffed.

Very good company. Genuine products and good customer service. Unsure why people get so upset regarding the Customs into the UK. Its clearly marked throughout the ordering process.
Often the items after exchange rate are cheaper even with the customs charge so i'd recommend them.
I had an item not make it to my address in the UK and returned to them, presumably at their cost but they didnt quibble it and refunded me again at no expense. 5STARS
