Not Impressed
I must admit I do not know who Stake is. No one ever introduced them, but I have emails from them out of the blue thanking me for claiming my "Cash Back from Stake." I have done no such thing. From Stake's emails. I infer that they have some connection to rent collection on behalf of my landlord. Yet I am receiving rent bills stuffed under my door or in the crack my door jamb for all to see and monitor whether I am home or not.
Again neither Stake nor my landlord ever told me who Stake is and why I should care. I trust they are not connected to the gambling company which immediately pops up when I do a Google search, but who knows. Needless to say, I am not impressed.

2 Stars - Great Agent, Terrible Reimbursement Experience
I want to start by saying that Shayna was absolutely wonderful. She communicated well, was responsive, and genuinely helped me find apartment options that fit my needs. I have nothing negative to say about her personally.
Unfortunately, the experience with the UMoveFree/Stake reimbursement process was extremely disappointing.
I chose UMoveFree because the service was marketed around the idea of a "free move." What I was NOT clearly told upfront was that the reimbursement process had changed - they no longer offer free moves and now requires customers to go through the new Stake platform.
The process I encountered was essentially this:
• Select a tier/program offering additional services
• Provide personal information
• Link your bank account to the platform
• Spend $250 of your own money
• Then receive a $200 credit - to then transfer into your account.
For a $200 moving reimbursement, this is unnecessarily complicated and, quite frankly, ridiculous.
The biggest issue is transparency. None of this was clearly explained to me before I chose UMoveFree. The impression was that I could pay my movers, submit the information, and receive my $200 reimbursement fairly quickly. Instead, I discovered that I would have to use another platform, provide additional personal and financial information, and spend $250 out of pocket before receiving the $200 benefit.
That is NOT what I understood I was signing up for.
I also wasn't comfortable linking my bank account and financial information to another platform just to receive a $200 reimbursement. So I declined to participate in that process and requested a check instead, only to be told that the check could take 6–8 weeks to arrive.
If I had been told upfront that the reimbursement involved this much red tape, personal financial information, additional platform requirements, and an out-of-pocket $250 purchase, I would have chosen a different apartment locator that still offers a straightforward "free" moving incentive.
**Shayna deserves 5 stars. The reimbursement process deserves 1 star.**
My recommendation: ASK VERY SPECIFICALLY about the current reimbursement requirements before using this service. Don't assume that “$200 reimbursement” means you simply pay for your movers and get $200 back.
What should have been a simple benefit turned into a time-consuming, complicated, and frustrating process that left a very bad impression.

This is fake, just a way to get peoples info. I put my checking info in when stake first ckaimed i had money in an acct associated with my living community, never received a dime into my acct as they stated iwould. St the time it was over $100.

Every time I try to log in on my phone, it won't let me. The screen keeps flashing back and forth keeping me from logging in. If I want to do anything I have to use my laptop, which is a big pain in the ass.

Horrible service
The app is buggy and has missing functions. In order to order a debit card from Stake you have to make a deposit using an external bank (if I had an external bank I wouldn’t need a Stake debit). There is a “deposit check” section that lets you take a picture of a check to deposit it but it’s just for show as that function doesn’t work. Worse debit service I’ve ever used in my 40 years of banking!
