Do NOT rent a car from them

Do yourself a favour and stay away from this rental company.

I had a horrible experience with them. A tyre of the car I rented had a puncture on my way to Netherlands. I called them quickly but it took 3 hours for them to send a tow truck. They kept giving me confusing messages.

The next day, they told me to go to a very far location to get a new car. They said we'll pay for your uber. I went to the place and they gave me a much worse car after waiting there for an hour.

It's been around a month now since I returned their car but they haven't refunded my deposit and uber expenses.

During my trip, I hired another car from Sixt and none of these issues happened.

STAY AWAY FROM ENTERPRISE

STAY AWAY FROM ENTERPRISE. THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED.
I rented a car from Enterprise Lübeck that I should pick up at the airport. They did not show up until one hour late and then without my car. I had to go with them to their location in Lübeck where a car was prepared for me. After a few hours drive I got warning lights for tire pressure and engine oil level, so I had to buy engine oil and refill. Enterprise by Bahar Karaarslan promised that the costs for the oil would be refunded to me, so I provided the required bank information they needed for the refund. After three months and two additional follow ups on this, where also Enterprise customer service ensured me that the refund would be carried out, I have received no refund. Enterprise as a car rental company and Bahar Karaarslan as an employe cannot be trusted.

Very disappointing experience - stay away from them

Very disappointing experience. Based on how my rental was handled, I personally perceive this company as very dishonest.

I returned the car without causing any damage. More than a month later, I received an invoice containing a €250 “damage/excess” charge, with my entire €250 deposit used to cover it.

No explanation of what damage I supposedly caused, no photographs, no damage report, no repair documentation, and no evidence showing that the alleged damage occurred during my rental were provided with the invoice.

Fortunately, I took a detailed video of the vehicle when I returned it. I will use that video to challenge the alleged damage once the company responds and tells me what exactly they claim was damaged.

Charging a customer's full deposit for unspecified damage without immediately providing clear supporting evidence is, in my opinion, completely unacceptable and has seriously damaged my trust in this company.

I have disputed the €250 charge and requested all supporting documentation. If they believe I caused damage, I expect them to demonstrate exactly what the damage was, when it was discovered, and why they believe it occurred during my rental.

Until they can provide convincing evidence, I cannot recommend this company.

My advice to anyone renting here: take detailed photos and, even better, a continuous video of the entire vehicle when collecting it and when returning it. I am very glad that I did.

Terrible company

Terrible company.
Our flight was on time but we got delayed through passport control. Tried calling but no one answered. Got to the desk after waiting 30 mins in their queue and got told that they’d given our booking as we were 20mins late.
Also as we booked through a third party they couldn’t refund us.
Staff are very rude and are happy to leave a family with a 7 year old stranded in the airport.
I’m now fighting to get my money back from booking.com
Let’s hope that they stop using enterprise as well.

I had a very disappointing experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

I rented a car for 7 days and returned it in the same condition I received it. There were no scratches on the bonnet when I returned the vehicle. Despite this, Enterprise later claimed that there was a scratch on the bonnet and is now demanding that I pay **€1,700** for the alleged damage.

I strongly dispute this claim and feel that I am being treated unfairly. It appears they are attempting to charge me for damage that I did not cause. Unless there is clear, time-stamped evidence proving the damage occurred during my rental, I cannot accept this charge.

I would advise anyone renting from Enterprise to thoroughly photograph and video every part of the vehicle before and after the rental, as you may otherwise find yourself facing unexpected and disputed damage claims.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

I strongly advise customers to think…

I strongly advise customers to think twice before renting from Alamo / Enterprise in Düsseldorf.

I booked my rental through DiscoverCars and purchased Full Coverage protection. However, at the rental desk I was given a manual vehicle two segments lower than the category I had booked.

Later, Alamo / Enterprise charged EUR 1,450 to my credit card as “damage” without providing a detailed invoice, damage report, repair document, technical assessment, workshop report, or objective proof of actual damage.

The vehicle was never started after the wrong fuel issue, and the ignition was not even turned on. The service provider arranged through Alamo / Enterprise drained the fuel tank at the petrol station before the vehicle was used. After refilling with petrol, I drove the vehicle for two days without any warning light, malfunction, engine issue, or technical problem, and returned it in working condition.

For more than two months, I have been asking for a clear explanation and official documentation, but I still have not received a proper documented response.

Customers deserve transparency, documentation, and fair treatment — not unexplained charges and unanswered complaints.

Staff so rude

Update: I had the worst experience with Alamo/Enterprise at Dusseldorf Airport, Germany

Please, don't rent a car from Enterprise.

The price may look slightly cheaper at first, but they will try to sell you every possible insurance option. By the end, you'll likely pay about the same as you would with other rental companies, except the service is far worse.

I had actually been trying to avoid Enterprise, but when I arrived at the counter I realized that Alamo and National are part of the same company. Unfortunately, I ended up at the Enterprise counter, and what happened there was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. It was incredibly embarrassing, especially because my family was there to witness everything.

After waiting in line for a long time, I finally reached the counter. I greeted the employee politely, but before I could even continue, he immediately raised his voice at me. His explanation was that I "wasn't listening" to him, which made no sense because I had only just walked up and said hello.

Throughout the interaction, I felt as though I was being singled out. As a small Asian woman, I felt intimidated and treated in a way that I don't believe other customers would have been treated. The employee slammed his hand on the counter, walked away, and said he would not give me the car, even though I had already paid for my reservation.

I tried asking his colleagues what was happening and why I was being refused service, but no one was willing to help. Everyone simply dismissed me, and I was left standing there without any explanation.

After a long flight, my entire family had to spend more than an hour waiting while this situation was sorted out before we could finally get a car and continue our trip.

I stayed silent for a long time because I wanted to forget this experience. However, after recently reading similar reviews from other customers, I decided I should share mine as well.

Even now, I still can't describe how angry and humiliated I felt that day. I simply cannot understand how customer service staff can treat people with such disrespect. It completely ruined the beginning of our trip, and I will never rent from Enterprise or any brand in the same group again.

I collected my car from Munich Airport. It was quick and easy with no problems at all. The customer service representative Adelina was great. Super helpful and she even upgraded our car which was lovely of her! She also advised us what we needed to do to drive to Austria and avoid any fines. She really went above and beyond and it was much appreciated. Returning the car was also hassle free. Would definitely hire with them again next time.

- Fraud - NEVER AGAIN

1 Star – Never Again Enterprise
I had a deeply disappointing and disrespectful experience with Enterprise. This is the normal way to handle things because all three employees acted in line. I had booked a car through Check24, submitted my details, and the payment had already been deducted from my account. When I arrived to pick up the car, I was told it had already been given to someone else — according to Enterprise, a booking apparently becomes void after just fifteen to thirty minutes, and the vehicle is simply handed over to someone else.
When I asked what would happen with my already-paid booking, I was told dismissively that this was merely a "reservation confirmation," not a binding booking — so they had no obligation to provide me with anything. At the same time, they claimed they had never received my payment, even though the deduction was clearly visible on my bank statement. To this day, I have not received a refund and now have to involve a lawyer to get my money back. I was deliberately refused any written confirmation that no car was available — it seems they are well aware of their own mistakes but are unwilling to put anything in writing.
The staff's attitude was condescending and arrogant. When I calmly but firmly made clear that I would not accept being spoken to that way, it only led to brief irritation and no real solution. I explained that I urgently needed to visit someone in the hospital, but this was simply ignored — and it seems that this very need for a vehicle was seen as leverage: instead of looking for a solution, such as checking when other cars would be returned that day, or offering an already-returned vehicle, I was suddenly shown a nine-seater van, for which I would additionally have to pay 50 euros — despite still not being offered any replacement for the car I had already paid for. That vehicle was also completely unsuitable for a drive through three federal states.
Particularly shocking: it is apparently well known among self-employed professionals and other car rental companies that Enterprise advertises more vehicles on its website than are actually available. I had already experienced this myself in previous bookings — the car I had booked was unavailable three times before, and I was given some other vehicle instead, often not even the same brand and with different fuel consumption.
This kind of experience causes damage in every context: for business trips, it leads to major delays, the need to reorganize, frustration, anger, and difficulty concentrating. For vacations or day trips, it ruins the mood right from the start. I therefore cannot recommend booking with them under any circumstances — it is unpleasant in every case and ultimately harms everyone involved.
My advice: Anyone booking with Enterprise should, to be safe, record or document everything from the moment they walk into the branch. But then still you have to hire a lawyer.
For comparison: at another car rental company, a staff member genuinely went out of their way to find out when a suitable car would be returned and offered me a spontaneous, fair solution. So there clearly are companies that care about their customers — with Enterprise, I felt none of that. In my view, people and companies who behave this disrespectfully do not deserve trust or money.

WARNING: Enterprise/Alamo – Predatory Overcharging & Fraudulent Fees!

If you are considering renting a car from Enterprise (or their partner Alamo) at Brandenburg Airport, stay far away. They engage in predatory, unauthorized billing practices and completely ghost you when caught violating their own agreements.

I booked an Enterprise car through Check24 with guaranteed all kilometers included, a pre-paid premium airport location fee, and full casco insurance. I returned the car on time to the exact same location, transparently reporting two minor scratches that I fully intended to take responsibility for. Instead of handling this professionally, Enterprise immediately withheld my deposit and made an unauthorized charge to my account worth roughly 130% of that deposit—with absolutely zero breakdown or explanation.

The Breakdown of Their Fraudulent Charges:
After writing to them 5 times via email and calling 3 times, I finally forced a representative to send me an invoice breakdown. It is an absolute scam:

- The "6,000 km Limit" Lie: They charged me a massive fee for allegedly going over a "6,000 km limit." I have provided them clear, written proof that my booking explicitly included all kilometers. In a recorded phone call, their support agent actually doubled down on this bogus limit. This is predatory behavior, plain and simple.
- Double-Charging Fees: They charged me an extra "premium location" fee. I picked up and dropped off the car at Berlin Brandenburg Airport exactly as booked, and this fee was already fully paid for in my initial reservation. There is zero justification for charging it twice.
- Withholding Insurance Documents: While the damage charge itself is fair, Enterprise refuses to provide the necessary itemized breakdown of the repairs. Because they are withholding this documentation, I am blocked from claiming the money back from my Casco insurance.

Zero Customer Service & Accountability
It has been a full month since this nightmare started. Enterprise has completely ignored all 5 of my emails, leaving me stuck with automated replies. Their phone support is entirely useless, offering excuses while keeping the money that does not belong to them.

Enterprise/Alamo is actively violating booking contracts and betting on the fact that customers will just give up. I am now forced to involve my lawyer to recover my unauthorized charges. Save yourself the financial extortion and severe headache: NEVER rent from Enterprise or Alamo.

Complaint ignored

Complaint ignored – Disappointing customer serviceI filed a legitimate complaint after my rental at Enterprise Ankara. Unfortunately, the company is completely ignoring my issue. I have not received any response to my emails for weeks. It is highly unprofessional to ignore customers as soon as problems arise. Mistakes happen, but ghosting customers is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this location and demand an immediate response to my case!

I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience…

I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience with Alamo / Enterprise Germany. The local branch operates a sophisticated scam scheme. Essentially, they provide you a car without a collection inspection, saying that everything with the car “is fine”, but then claim that you made scratches to the car during your rental period. At the return inspection I was told that all is good and the car had no issues, but next day I received an email with a claim for damage and a charge of the security deposit of 1700 Euro.
In my instance, I knew that I did not scratch the car, pushed back and notified the credit card company. The next day they sent me an email with an apology, admitting that the car had a minor scratch prior to my rental starting. Be mindful of the dishonest operation at the local branch in Hannover Airport and take lots of photos at the start of your rental!

Disappointed Enterprise

I had a confirmed Enterprise reservation at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, booked through EnjoyTravel.com.

Due to exceptionally long passport control queues at the airport, I arrived at the rental desk approximately 50 minutes later than expected. I was then informed that my reservation had been cancelled because I had not arrived within the required timeframe. Despite explaining that the delay was caused by airport procedures completely outside my control, no flexibility or reasonable solution was offered.

What made the situation even worse was that the only alternative was to make a new reservation at a price several times higher than my original booking.

I contacted Enterprise customer service, hoping they would take the circumstances into account, but unfortunately no meaningful assistance was provided.

Airport delays, especially passport control delays, are common and unavoidable. For airport pickups, reservations should not be automatically cancelled after such a short period without considering the reality of international arrivals. A more customer-friendly policy for airport locations would prevent situations like this.

Very disappointing experience and poor customer service. Based on how this situation was handled, I would not recommend Enterprise.

Frustrating and Confusing Service

My experience with Enterprise in Germany was not good. The car rental process was quite complicated and unclear. I’ve rented with other companies before, and everything was much simpler and more transparent.

The employee who assisted me offered the full tank fuel option, but never explained that if I didn’t use all the fuel, I would not receive a refund for the remaining amount. That kind of information should be clearly explained from the beginning.

Additionally, when they gave me the final summary and total cost, they said there was still an extra amount to pay for the rental, even though Booking had already charged me the amount shown in the reservation. The whole experience ended up being confusing and frustrating.

I definitely would not rent with Enterprise again or recommend it. I’d rather avoid these kinds of unnecessary complications.

AVOID shocking Scams run by this well known company

AVOID! We were shocked by this scam being run by such a well known car hire company. We booked last year and were charged £1000 before we even made it to the airport gate for damage Enterprise had already recorded before we rented the car. Took 8 weeks to get a refund with no apology. This year we booked again (why?) and they waited two months before charging us £1300 for the same, damage already photographed and recorded. Another admin hassle to sort out and they have apparently ' dropped the charge as an act of goodwill'. It even says on the internet that Munich Airport Enterprise are running this scam and threads from scammed renters confirm it. DO NOT BOOK!!!
