I first contacted Crunch on 21/04 because my year-end report showed “Not started” and “Requires bank reconciliation.”
After receiving no reply, I chased on 08/05. Crunch finally responded on 14/05, requesting bank statements, which I supplied that day. On 21/05, I was told the bank reconciliation was complete.
By 08/06, the report still showed no progress, with only three weeks left before the filing deadline. I emailed and called. During the call, I was told that before they could proceed with my accounts I needed to answer questions through an app pop-up that showed on login. I had never been presented with this popup when logging into the crunch site.
The questions were then emailed to me later that day. I answered promptly, and on 09/06 Crunch confirmed that there were no associated companies to report and that my records would be updated.
Despite this, on 24/06 another accountant sent me exactly the same questions again even acknowledge my response to the first email where I had answered these questions. I replied immediately and called Crunch. I was told there had been an internal miscommunication and that someone would contact me with an update.
Nobody did.
My filing deadline passed on 30/06.
On 07/07, my account manager simply referred my email back to the accountant who had repeated the questions, without giving me any update on the accounts themselves.
On 10/07, I tried calling during working hours, but the support line was closed. I therefore sent a detailed complaint asking for the current status, a firm filing date and clarification about any penalties caused by the delay.
After hearing nothing, I called again on 15/07 after receiving an overdue accounts notice from Companies House. I was told the accounts had only gone into production in June and that the accountant and account manager would be personally chased by the person on the phone (Darrell). I was told to call back if I had not heard anything within a week - I have had no update.
On 21/07, I finally received a reply to my email complaint from 10/07 saying that an update had been requested and someone would be in touch “shortly.” It did not answer any of my questions or provide a completion date.
At the time of writing, I still have no meaningful update and the accounts remain outstanding.
The delay is concerning, but the communication has been worse. I have had to chase almost every stage, answer duplicated questions and deal with acknowledged internal miscommunication, despite raising concerns well before the deadline.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Crunch and am beyond frustrated by the lack of communication and professional competency.
Crunch are an excellent company to deal with. I have an assigned Client Manager who I can contact via phone or a video call very easy. When he isn't available, there is always someone else who is able to advise and guide me on my accountancy needs.

And again...
Timeline:
7th July – Multiple emails sent.
8th July – Email from Laurence. I was given assurances, yet again, that the outstanding issues would be dealt with.
13th July – Further email sent chasing responses to the points originally raised on 7th July.
14th July – WhatsApp received from Narendra regarding starting self assessment. I replied immediately by email, again chasing the outstanding matters. With same issues as before.
14th July – Separate email sent regarding another ongoing issue. No response to date.
20th July – Seven days later... tumbleweeds.
At this point, I genuinely have to question whether the issue lies with senior management's ability to manage the team and hold people accountable.
This has become beyond frustrating. Week after week, it's the same cycle of chasing, waiting, receiving assurances, and then... nothing.
Is it all pens down at Crunch HQ? From my perspective, it certainly feels as though nobody is actually working.
This level of communication is simply unacceptable, particularly given the amount I pay for what is supposed to be a professional accounting service.
I would now like this matter escalated.
Please arrange for someone senior to Laurence, with the authority to resolve these ongoing issues, to contact me as a matter of urgency.
I no longer wish to deal with the same individuals who continue to demonstrate the same recurring communication failures. I have exhausted my patience repeating myself, and I expect meaningful action rather than yet more assurances.
I look forward to hearing from someone who is prepared to take ownership of this situation!!!!!

I have been with them since 2012, they were simply the best, but in a term of a year or so, I am only having problems, not answering to my emails on time (or simply never), even the ones marked as 'Urgent'.
I don't know guys, two years ago I would have said you were the best of the best, but now I am considering moving to another accountants, or just learn the few things I need and do it myself.

A little more support and touching base with clients would make this 4 if not 5 stars

We had a fantastic experience with Seico, especially with Andrew, who guided us through the entire mortgage process.
As Dutch expats buying our first home in the UK, there was a lot we needed to learn about the UK property and mortgage process. Andrew was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and always happy to answer our many questions. He explained everything clearly, kept us updated throughout the process, and made what could have been a very stressful experience feel straightforward and manageable.
We always felt that he had our best interests at heart, and we truly appreciated his professionalism, responsiveness, and friendly approach.
We would highly recommend Andrew and the Seico team to anyone, especially fellow expats navigating the UK housing market. Thank you for helping us buy our first home in the UK!

At first Crunch looked good and my account manager was fine. Mr Joss. I paid crunch for filling self assessment in autumn 2025,, to 2026 to have my self assessment filed early,, it was Crunch offer ,, after all kinds of e mail lately to have my document filed in time, nothing is working. !!!!! Horrilble. This is a BIG ZERO document, NIL ,, and the there staff even thoug i have sent them e mail, have still not send my self assessment, and all kinds of different correspondans seems to appear, my account manager NEVER SHOWS UPP. Is this account manager just a name to make things look good ? There still seartain thing I like with there platform, and so on, the problem is the SERVICE BEHIND it i see as an big PROBLEM. MY SELF ASSESSMENT PAID AUTUMN 2025 is still unfiled with HMRC ,, JULY 2026 !!!!!!!!! Nothing happens even thou i try to e mail somebody. If crunch can not take care of NIL documents, how can you trust them for money ???? I hope crunch will change course and move the company to better accounting standard,, if so i will would gladly be on board ,, Unfortunately, right now i can only give them 1 star, for 2 years ago, 5 stars, Since Larus I Gudmundsson
Update. Since crunch answered.
Crunch anwer is fine !!!!!.. but it took 3 days to answer review on TRUST PILOT.. Same thing could have been said for last 9 months.. !!!!!!!
===============/////
9 months, on the platform my selfassment shows un PROGRESS !!
=============/////
Early i said i wanted to have everything in in one place when it comes to file with HMRC . It was the reason i wanted to pay for my self assesment. It was my orginal message for long time ago
=============///
This happens because nobody is looking after my account.. ! The left hand does not kow what the right hand is doing. Many diffrent people with handling the same case. !!!!
=============//
It took 9 months to offer refund !
I did not wanted refund but have my selfassesment filed with Hmrc !! It us what i stated in my e mail.
=======/////
Costumer of crunch does not know how crunch system is working behind, it is always accountants job to INFORM THERE COSTUMERS !! Only thing i jnow i paid for self assesm 9 months ago aprox ,, I received an offer about EARLY FILLING atumn 2025, it shows in PROGRESS in the system and this EARLY FILLING OFFER, passed DEADLINE 26. Of cource it is HORRIBLE. !!!!!!!!
Crunch explaination is HAPPENING NOW ... 3 DAYS AFTER TRUST PILOT REVIEW.. NOT BEFORE !!!!!!
=============
BUT STILL I HOPE I CAN MAKE PEACE WITH CRUNCH AND ALSO HMRC . BIGG WAR IN BOTH SIDES !!@@@@@
=========///
SInce crunch say they are gonna make arangement and CLARIFY THE CASE with HMRC , i hope i will be able to continue with crunch and do so with peace if mind over the years to come.. !
Ofcourse put this aside ..
Raise my star to 3 .. !!!!!!
Since u am not totaly ignored.
Since
Larus ingi Gudmundsson
Offer to file assesment early came from crunch ?
Despite no NI where avalible in the sytem !!!!
Even thoug crunch was not cabable of filing it !!!! !!!!!
This is the important part.
I paid for it.
I can not know how computer system works.
Owners knows.!!
When i was advised to contact Hmrc it was 8 to 9 monts later.
Sytem show.. in PROGRESS al the time.
It was never in progress. ! Accordong to your words.
So for next self assesment,, 25 to 26. ? Hopefully 24 to 25 can fixed. So i do not have to go throuh this again with 25 to 26..
==========//////////___
I repeat.. when the LEFT hand does not know what the RIGHT hand is doing or vise versa and when the HEAD located on the TOP have also not a single idea about behaviour of this two arms.. it points out to a problem.. !!
Many diffrent people dealing with the same E mail as an corespondants. Is also a problem. The owerview dissapers.
So hopefully crunch team will be able to solve this things and improve the system in the mean time. !!!!
So i wait to finish 24 to 25.. so i can turn my self to 25 to 26 self assesment and then in more fluent way.
Perhaps i raise to 4 star when it is over ?? If my 25 to 26 will go throug to HMRC IN more NATURAL way i might change it back in to 5 star.. !@

Zoe Childs has done an outstanding job assisting us with our VAT returns and ensuring our VAT compliance. Today, we were informed by HMRC that all of the VAT returns they reviewed have been approved down to the penny. We could not have achieved this without Zoe’s expertise and support throughout the process.

I want to formally recognise the outstanding support I’ve received from my Account Manager, Simone Sobers‑Biles, while running my business, TONTI Ltd. Simone has been nothing short of exceptional.
Her warmth, empathy and genuine understanding have made every interaction effortless. She consistently brings a level of professionalism and efficiency that is rare to find, the kind of service that not only solves problems but makes you feel truly supported as a business owner.
Simone is the reason I will continue using Crunch. Her ability to combine expert knowledge with human centred care has made a tangible difference to my business and my peace of mind. I want the company to know just how good she is and how much her dedication reflects the very best of Crunch.
Simone is a credit to your organisation, and I’m deeply grateful for everything she has done.

I have been a paying Crunch client since 2015, including paying for dedicated accountant/bookkeeping support. Until around a year ago, I trusted the service. That trust has now broken down.
This review is based on my direct experience as a Crunch client.
The most serious issue concerns my company’s September 2025 year-end. During a live screenshare call with a Crunch accountant several months later, it became apparent to me that the year-end had not been properly closed or processed in the way I expected. This only came to light because I kept questioning why the figures in the Crunch system did not make sense.
The consequence was significant. I was later told that an unlawful dividend / Director Loan Account issue had arisen. Had this been identified during the normal year-end process, I believe I would have had more time and liquidity to deal with it in an orderly way. Instead, I was left trying to arrange urgent personal funding shortly before a tax deadline.
This was not just inconvenient. For a small business owner, it created real financial pressure, stress and uncertainty.
What made the situation worse was the lack of clear account ownership. Over recent months I experienced repeated handovers between different accountants, bookkeepers, support contacts and client-success contacts. Important context did not appear to carry forward from one person to the next. I repeatedly had to restate the background, reconstruct the timeline and chase for updates.
At times, I felt less like a client and more like the forensic investigator of my own accounts.
Simple bookkeeping that previously took one or two days after I supplied bank statements began taking weeks. I had to ask which accounts had been reconciled and which had not. I was told that material movements in my Director Loan Account and dividend position were due to bookkeeping being completed, while I could still see unreconciled bank accounts and missing asset balances in the system.
At that point, I no longer knew which figures were provisional, which were final, and which could be relied upon for urgent financial decisions.
Another difficult moment was being told that Crunch was moving towards a “dedicated accountant” model. I found this confusing and concerning, because I understood that I had already been paying for a dedicated accountant service for years, and I had seen this confirmed as a separate line item in my subscription.
The issue for me is not that mistakes happened. Mistakes can happen in any business. The issue is that the overall service experience felt fragmented: poor continuity, unclear ownership, slow bookkeeping, missed or unclear deadlines, and figures in the system that I no longer felt able to rely on without further written confirmation.
I pay an accountant to reduce anxiety and provide clarity. In this case, the experience created more anxiety and left me repeatedly chasing, checking and second-guessing basic accounting status myself.
After more than a decade as a client, I now feel I cannot rely on verbal reassurances, and I do not trust the figures in the system unless they are confirmed clearly in writing.
That is a very serious breakdown in confidence for an accounting relationship.
I hope Crunch reviews what happened on my account carefully, because the experience has had real financial, practical and personal consequences for us.

I have been a Crunch customer for five or six years now, and I have never stopped being happy with and grateful for the high standard and professionalism of the services they provide.
I would like to publicly say a big thank you to Drey Szabo for all the help she has given me, not just once, but on several occasions, always with kindness, patience, professionalism, and incredible support.
But the last time she helped me is what made me write this public thank you. She helped me with something that, at that moment, was simply beyond me (to be honest... it still is), and it was something that went beyond her role. It is also something that is extremely important to me at the stage I am in right now.
In other words, I honestly don't know what I would have done without Drey's help. She offered it as if she somehow knew how important it was for me. Looking back now, I think maybe she did know.
And, above all... she cared. She really cared.
That is something rare, and something extraordinary.
I simply do not have enough words to express my appreciation and gratitude.
Drey is a real credit to Crunch, and one of the reasons why this company is so good.

At this stage, I'm spending more time correcting errors with what Crunch does or checking to see if they have done what was promised than it seems they spend doing it.
I'm still waiting on my EOY (update from my last) after being told that I didn't hear anything about it because of months of diligent work, it turns out that this is unlikely as there were documents they have only just now asked me to provide.
Recently I asked a question about how to log a mileage expense, no answer, but it was 'logged for me' incorrectly, I had to do the work of checking what was done, realising it was wrong, extrapolating the correct answer from the actions and re-doing it myself.

I have been attempting to get a response from Crunch since 16th June, without success.
Following the submission of our VAT return, we were informed that a number of transactions had not been reconciled on Crunch's side. Two of these are legitimate payments that still require reconciliation, but they cannot be actioned because they have not been pulled through from the banking feed — something that sits with Crunch, not with us.
The "semi-senior accountant" assigned to our account advised waiting until these items were resolved before submitting this month's VAT return. I have since sent five emails chasing this, as the customer service adviser has provided no assistance whatsoever. These are two small payments that can reasonably be reconciled at a later date; they should not be holding up a statutory submission.
It has now been two weeks and I have not received a single reply.
To be clear: if the VAT return is not submitted on time and HMRC issues a late-submission penalty as a result, I will be seeking legal advice and will hold Crunch responsible for the fine.
Customer service and the standard of professional advice at Crunch have never been strong, but they have fallen off a cliff. The complete breakdown in communication leads me to believe there are serious problems behind the scenes.

Crunch has been a great fit for how we work. The team is responsive and practical, which matters a lot when things move fast and you need answers rather than back and forth. They get straight to the point, sort issues quickly, and keep the whole process simple without making you chase them. What stands out most is how solution oriented they are. Rather than just flagging a problem, they come with a way forward. The platform is easy to use and keeps everything in one place. Happy to have them handling things on the UK side and would recommend them to anyone after a no fuss, reliable partner.

I can't think of many industries where it's considered acceptable to make a customer pay for your own incompetence. I asked Crunch to close my Ltd company in 2025. It's now June 2026 and the saga continues. Crunch has blamed numerous things including the accountant who used to look after my accounts (at least he bothered to stay in touch with me), the fact he left the business, and to add insult to injury, have insisted I continue making my monthly payments despite the business having not traded for over a year. The final insult is then being expected to pay an extortionate bill to close the company. I strongly recommend you steer well clear of Crunch unless you want to feel very stressed and out of pocket.

I've been with Crunch nearly 3 years now and nearly left twice. However, there seems to have been a bit of a turnaround lately with a more personal service. I can jump on a screenshare with my account rep and get things sorted out in person fast. I hope this turnaround is permanent. The service I have received in the past month has been what I expected all along - as long as it stays this way I will remain a customer.
