I ordered a 6 carat blue diamond. Then needed a ring. You helped me design a beautiful ring. I love that it has 14K, Diamond size 6.08 ct. and my name engraved inside. Was going to purchase a ring
Was going to purchase a ring. Called to verify timing. Employee sounded almost annoyed in answering the phone. Told him it needed to be here in a month. He told me that it would be pushing it. But he could expedite it for an additional $300.00. I had to ask him if he had another stone sourced faster that was similar to get it sooner. He sends me the stones info and said this would be sooner.
Fine it works for me, assuming no additional fee. He tells me "OH we are still going to charge you the expedition fee any how" The point was to find something that would be similar with no fee. Not to find something not what I originally wanted AND the same fee.
Thanks, I ended up purchasing from rare carat for a higher price. This is how you do not treat a potential customer.

Sourcing a diamond locally versus internationally only saves a couple of days at most, the month-long timeline comes from the manufacturing and casting process itself, which stays the same no matter where the stone comes from. Guaranteeing a hard deadline like yours means recasting off schedule if anything goes wrong the first time, and that's really what the expedite fee covers. That reasoning should have been explained clearly on the call, and it clearly wasn't.

They did a great job of keeping me informed throughout the whole process, they could not source my original diamond I chose so they let me choose a new diamond that was worth more than the original one and they covered the difference. Would highly recommend!!

I purchased a loose diamond from Calavera and took it to a local jeweler to have it checked. The jeweler verified that the laser inscription on the diamond matched the certification, which gave me even more confidence in my purchase.
What surprised me the most was when the jeweler told me that they sell diamonds with the same specs for about 4x the price I paid. 😳
