Lack of communication and breakdown in trust
Signed up for a some accounting services and thought I was putting my financial information in safe hands but once the letter of agreement was signed I had nothing but issues. Miscommunication between sales and onboarding meant pricing was all over the place, I was informed VAT threshold monitoring would be provided but it wasn't. Lack of internal communication means that teams are not fully up to speed with what is going on. Tried to cancel package as this was not what I originally signed up for and being charged more than the monthly package for an admin fee. Really disappointing as only reason I terminated was due to a lack of trust.

We would like to clarify that the prices you were quoted were honoured and you were never charged more than what was on your original quote. Our cancellation fee is due as per our standard terms & conditions and reflects the time that was spent on onboarding your business, including a 30-minute call you had with your accountant and client manager. VAT monitoring is not something we provide as a separate service, however clients who have a bookkeeping service with us are notified if they cross the VAT registration threshold.
The communication issues you've described are certainly not the standard we aim for, however they are rare and we are sorry that you felt they were serious enough to terminate your engagement with us. We did try to find a mutually acceptable resolution at the time and we're sorry this didn't change the outcome.

Misleading Sales and Hidden Costs Not the “All Inclusive” Service Promised
Update. Company have since contacted me and assigned me a new account manager, compensated me for the muck up and we are giving them another try. Have upped this to 4 stars for now will

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this experience has been genuinely disappointing.
From the outset, Duncan missold the service, setting expectations that simply haven’t been met. What was presented as an all inclusive monthly accounting package with unlimited advice has turned into constant attempts to raise additional invoices for even the smallest details.
Steph, in particular, seems far more focused on extracting extra fees than actually supporting clients. On multiple occasions, services have been withheld until payments are made in full which completely contradicts the “monthly, all-inclusive” model that was originally sold.
The only positive I can mention is Nicolas, who has been professional and helpful throughout. Unfortunately, he’s surrounded by a team that appears more interested in their bank balance than delivering on what was promised or putting the client first.
Duncan misselling might win you business initially, but it will cost you customers when the reality comes to light.
Overall, I would strongly advise others to steer clear.

I recently switched from a well-known accounting platform to a-wise, and I’m honestly blown away by the difference. The team is incredibly competent and friendly, making the whole process feel easy.
Their systems are so well-organised and smooth, but what impressed me most was the turnaround time; they submitted my tax return just a few days after I completed my books—even during their busiest season! Their communication is also top-notch, with email replies always arriving within 24 hours (usually much faster). I can’t recommend them enough!
