Enrolment was quick & painless given I only had my 30 minute lunch break to make this happen! Samantha Parker was on point & answered my question with clarity!

I recently completed my Cert 111 in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability).
Mt Assessor Mel and all the people at Open Colleges are friendly and very encouraging.
They helped me to succeed in my studies at my own pace, while working and balancing my other responsibilities.
Thumbs up to everyone at Open Colleges.
Forever grateful to the entire staff.

I just completed my Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (CHC43415) through Open Colleges and I could not be happier with the experience. My assessor Mel was absolutely brilliant throughout the entire course. She gave clear and helpful feedback on every assessment, always took the time to explain what was needed and was genuinely supportive whenever I had questions.
Mel made me feel confident in my work and her encouragement kept me motivated right through to the end. When I got my final result she was just as excited as I was. You can tell she really cares about her students and wants them to do well.
The course itself was well structured and the online platform was easy to use. Being able to study at my own pace while working full time made a huge difference for me.
I would highly recommend Open Colleges to anyone looking to study in this field. And if you get Mel as your assessor you are in great hands.

Cert 111 in Individual Support
I have recently completed my Cert 3 in Individual Support.
Firstly I have to say the support side of Open Colleges I found to be commendable (just don't try to call them on a Monday. Plus the call back system just does not work). My trainer Paris was outstanding in her support and contact worked well with her due to my flexible hours in the industry.
To call this a Certificate and an entry level requirement to support work is crazy. The amount of work was way over the top and often there were mistakes in the content which made some of the modules very confusing.
I have worked in the Disability Support and Aged Care Sector for a long time. If I had not had this experience there is no way I would have coped with this course. There were alot of modules that were definitely not pertinent to the role of a Support Worker/Carer. These modules were geared towards a Leadership role eg a Supervisor, Team Leader or whatever other name leadership is called in different Service Providers. This was very disappointing.
Also I have to speak about the never ending role plays which were relentless throughout the whole course. The files had to be compacted before they would even upload therefore I lost valuable time over these. Plus the work that would go into each of these and finding people all the time willing to do this was challenging to say the least.
I found myself continually answering the same questions (written differently) ALL the time and found this super frustrating.
The modules on Legality and Ethics were definitely the toughest. These were the most time consuming and were throughout the course in many modules.
I know of more than several work colleagues completing this same course that is now available at our local Uni. I am told they are given the answers (not ethical at all) and all roleplays and work placements seem very different and much easier than the same Cert 3 course through Open Colleges.
However, to say that I have now completed this Certificate 3 in individual care, with the body of work I have completed over these past 2 years (working crazy hours and shifts during the study), I am completely proud of myself for actually finishing it. Many times I thought I was DONE and threw some hissy fits but here I am Cert 3 qualified.

Education Support Course with Incredible Trainer Guidance
I recently completed my CHC30221 Certificate III in School Based Education Support with Open Colleges, and I had an excellent experience from start to finish.
My trainer, Erika Russell, was truly outstanding. She always responded to my emails within 24 hours, guided me clearly through every step, and was available for calls whenever I needed extra support. Her communication, patience, and professionalism made a huge difference in my learning journey.
The Open Colleges learning portal was easy to use, well organised, and simple to navigate. The placement team also supported me extremely well. During my school placement, Erika stayed in touch with me almost every day, checked on my progress, and coordinated smoothly with my workplace supervisor.
I completed all my assignments and submitted everything on the last day of placement, and my workplace supervisor was very happy with my communication and the way I worked together with my trainer.
Overall, I had a very positive experience with Open Colleges. The support, guidance, and communication were excellent. I highly recommend this course and especially my trainer, Erika Russell.
5 stars
I had a fantastic experience studying the Diploma of Leadership and Management with Open Colleges. The entire process was smooth and very user-friendly from start to finish.
One of the standout aspects was the quick and reliable response from the lectures. Anytime I had a question or needed clarification, I received helpful support promptly, which made a big difference in staying on track.
The online learning system is incredibly easy to use, even if you’re not very tech-savvy. Everything is clearly laid out, and navigating the modules, assessments, and resources was straightforward.
I also found the software to be reliable and consistent, with no major issues throughout my studies. This made it easy to focus on learning without worrying about technical problems.
Overall, I highly recommend Open Colleges for anyone looking to upskill in leadership and management. It’s a flexible, supportive, and well-designed program that delivers on its promises.
Overall positive
My trainer Mel was fast and efficient with marking and replying to emails.
The student portal is easy and accessible to use
Some of the content was repetitive
The online monthly meetings are useful and highly beneficial
Skiltrak were unsuccessful in finding me placement and also found your team had troubles communicating with them
I was studying a Diploma in Interior…
I was studying a Diploma in Interior Design which had 19 modules. After many interruptions to my course I completed one module. I was struggling and spoke to Open Colleges on numerous occasions but always told to keep going as I’d get the hang of it. Nothing changed. As advised by Open Colleges if I wanted to be released from the course, I consulted my doctor and discovered I had a condition that prevented me from being capable of doing the course. I did not find any compassion from Open Colleges and no refund for a course I had almost paid for but was far from completing. They are insensitive, money producing, heartless people and I wouldn’t recommend them
Easy to follow course format, great support
Fully self paced online, downloadable learning materials, ability to set the learning material to read aloud so you can listen on the go. Easy to follow format, great support from Open Colleges when needed.

Certificate II Horticulture
I recently completed a Certificate II in Horticulture through Open Colleges and had a fantastic experience. I really valued the flexibility of studying online at my own pace while working full‑time in a demanding corporate role, as it made the course achievable without compromising my other commitments.
Undertaking my work placement in a nursery was a real highlight. It gave me the chance to gain hands‑on experience in a horticultural setting and apply the theory I’d learned throughout the course.
A big thank‑you to my tutors, Blaine and Jaclyn. They were consistently supportive, responsive, and genuinely invested in my progress. The weekly drop‑in sessions were especially helpful and made me feel like I was never studying alone.
I’m grateful for the experience and would happily recommend studying with Open Colleges to anyone considering a start in horticulture.
