Neuroscience Informed Christian Counseling® (NICC)
Neuroscience Informed Christian Counseling® (NICC) is a transformational model developed at MyCounselor.Online that unites the best of modern clinical science with the timeless truth of Scripture. If you’re familiar with approaches like AEDP, EFT, IFS, EMDR, or other attachment-based, emotion-focused, and experiential therapies, you’ll recognize much of the territory—but NICC is uniquely Christ-centered from the ground up. Our counselors integrate cutting-edge neuroscience, attachment theory, and trauma research with a biblical vision of the human soul. The goal isn’t just symptom relief—it’s healing wounds, filling developmental gaps, and transforming the coping strategies that once helped you survive but now hold you back. We call this maturing into your true self in Christ—a secure, connected, emotionally healthy person who reflects His love. It’s a model proven to work: 93.6% of clients who complete their course of care at MyCounselor.Online report a successful outcome. And it’s deeply faithful to God’s Word, holding together what He has joined—His design for the brain and His plan for the heart.

Right matching and flexibility

The flexibility of scheduling and rescheduling appointments, as well as working with Liz at first to get matched with the right counselor. My counselor was so encouraging and helpful.

Great Experience with Minji Chai at My Counselor

My experience with Minji Chai was nothing but positive. I would readily recommend her and My Counselor for any Christian looking for life help. Minji is kind-hearted, but her experience and training give her robust psychological knowledge. I was very impressed by the safeness, compassion, and wisdom of her sessions.

HORRIBLE experience

HORRIBLE experience. The first session was RECORDED WITHOUT OUR CONSENT. That's illegal. We talked to a person about how we have different religious backgrounds & that was ignored. Then we found out that these guys are "counselors" and not registered therapists. And they come with a hefty membership fee. For what? Not listening and violating the law? That was a one and done. Super unprofessional and do NOT recommend.

Excellent company, excellent counseling

The communication was really good. I never missed a session because I was always given ample reminders of upcoming appointments.
Also the counselor was very knowledgeable, kind, and gracious. I never felt pressured or uncomfortable. And I believe our sessions really did help get to the root of some issues. Armed with that knowledge I feel more confident about taking on life going forward.

Emily is wonderful!

Emily is wonderful! She is incredibly knowledgeable, and you can feel she is truly present with you, even though you're online. There is nothing too unlovable, boring, or uncomfortable in you that she will not embrace with compassion. She is fully invested in her clients and creates a space where they feel at ease and loved.

My husband initiated the counseling for…

My husband initiated the counseling for himself originally & I am so thankful he did . Our marriage is stronger because of it. I don’t know why some people have a stigma about seeing a counselor . I too was able to share things & felt seen, heard , & also given advice that really brought more peace to each of us .

First appointment, recommend!

First appointment, never having had counseling before…Great experience with Nate, He is clear in his message, insightful in helping us already to unravel underlying issues that have been there for years in our marriage. I felt his warmth and care without judgment and have confidence that he will give us the help we have needed. Biblical based as well which is what we were looking for.

I liked my counselor very much

I liked my counselor very much and that is the main idea. She was very insightful and very helpful to me. However, I find that the billing structure is very confusing and I wish they would just bill per visit and not worry about visits per month.
