Jay Jamison แบ่งปันสิ่งนี้Congrats, Amy Frampton! A decade of watching you operate in high-growth environments — Smartsheet, BambooHR, and others — and this makes complete sense. You've always known how to keep companies anchored to their customers when everything else is moving fast. Highly recommend for any team serious about building stronger client connections at scale.Jay Jamison แบ่งปันสิ่งนี้There's a moment in every growth story when speed starts to quietly work against you. You add headcount. New channels. More products. The market shifts. The board wants a tighter story. Everyone is doing their job, yet somehow, the customer gets lost in the noise. Kristin Flandreau and I have both lived this. And it's why we built Inflection Marketing. Here's what we've seen over and over: when GTM starts to break down, it's rarely about effort, but: • Leadership isn't aligned • The message sounds different depending on who's telling it • Decisions are being made off assumptions instead of what customers are actually saying. The companies that scale well fiercely protect three things: a clear narrative, strong alignment, and a real connection to customer reality. That's the foundation. Without it, growth gets harder, not easier. Our approach is simple: Customer Signal → Alignment → Scalable Growth. Between us, Kristin and I have 40+ years leading marketing and product marketing in B2B tech. We've been in the messy middle of pivots, rapid scaling, and integrations. We know what it feels like when a team loses its footing AND what it takes to get it back. We wrote a piece together that captures the pattern and what to do before things stall. I'll link to it in the first comment. If any of this resonates, we'd love to connect. DM us, follow our company page, or just say hi. Jay Jamison แบ่งปันสิ่งนี้Congratulations to Mark Ellis, Phil Crosby, Harry Robertson, and the entire Liftoff Mobile team on today’s IPO. I still remember meeting the three founders in a conference room when Liftoff was just getting started — three people, a prototype, and a clear point of view on where mobile user acquisition was headed. Since then, it has been remarkable to watch the company grow through market shifts, competitive pressure, and many chapters of reinvention, while remaining impressively capital efficient and customer focused along the way. Aimée Vincent Jamison and I were fortunate to be able to invest personally in those earliest days, and we are grateful to have watched a small piece of the journey up close. Mostly, though, today feels like a moment to recognize the founders and the team who built something enduring. Mark, Phil, Harry — congratulations. You deserve all the flowers. Onwards! 🚀Jay Jamison แบ่งปันสิ่งนี้Today is a special day. Fourteen years ago, in an incubation space in Palo Alto, Harry, Phil and I set out to build a company that could help mobile app businesses grow in a rapidly changing world. What began as a small startup with a big vision has evolved into something much larger than we could have imagined. Today, I'm thrilled to celebrate the IPO of Liftoff (LFTO) on the Nasdaq. Building a company is never the work of a few individuals. This milestone belongs to the thousands of employees, customers, partners, investors and friends who believed in our vision and helped bring it to life. I am deeply grateful to every person who contributed to the journey. I'm especially thankful to my co-founders, Harry and Phil, whose talent, determination and friendship made the early years both possible and unforgettable. The challenges we faced together and the opportunities we pursued shaped not only the company but all of us as leaders. I'm also grateful to our investors over the years, including Fred Warren and our other early stage seed investors and later Blackstone and General Atlantic, whose partnership helped position the company for continued success. While an IPO is an important milestone, it's ultimately a reflection of the incredible team that continues to drive Liftoff forward. I'm excited to see what comes next. Congratulations to everyone who has been part of the Liftoff story. Today is a day worth celebrating. #Liftoff #IPO #NASDAQ #LFTO #Entrepreneurship #Leadership

Jay Jamison แบ่งปันสิ่งนี้Deeply saddened and heartbroken to read of S. Somasegar's passing. He was a giant of a technical leader at Microsoft, with a warmth, reserve, and drive that were an inspiring mix to be around. Soma was one of the greats. In an industry that moves ever faster, it is easy to forget to pause and reflect on the remarkable people we get to work with shoulder to shoulder. I feel fortunate to count him among them. My heart goes out to his family and dear friends. https://lnkd.in/gxsa7tQb

Jay Jamison แบ่งปันสิ่งนี้Today, Ncontracts launched Nquiry — auditable, accurate compliance answers in minutes for banks, credit unions, mortgage companies, and wealth managers. The problem we set out to solve is one we heard on nearly every customer call: institutions are tired of "waiting on compliance." Answers take days. Confidence is hard-won. You stayed obsessed with what customers actually need — and shipped it. This week marks one year since I joined Ncontracts. Days like today are exactly why I joined: driving an AI-first innovation agenda aimed at solving meaningful problems for our clients. We placed a bold bet, and this team is delivering an outstanding solution. Thanks all. Onwards. 🚀Jay Jamison แบ่งปันสิ่งนี้✨ Introducing Nquiry: Auditable. Accurate. Answers. Now. Jay Jamison แบ่งปันสิ่งนี้I appreciate the opportunity to join Hg at their first ever CPO AI Summit and share the transformation story underway at Ncontracts as we drive to become a product centric AI first market leader delivering unmatched value to our clients. It was to pull back the curtain on how we're reimagining risk management for the 4,000+ financial institutions we serve. Moving from traditional software to AI-native solutions isn't just about technology—it's about fundamentally changing how our clients work, giving them hours back in their day to focus on what matters most. The recent launch of our Regression Intelligence and Complaint Intelligence offerings at Ngage was just the beginning. Seeing clients describe these tools as "game changing" validates the direction we're heading . And we're only just getting started. None of this happens without an incredible team. From our R&D and engineering teams building these capabilities, to our product managers deeply understanding client workflows, to everyone who's embracing this transformation—this is truly a collective effort. Grateful to work alongside such talented and dedicated people as we build the future of GRC together. Onwards.Jay Jamison แบ่งปันสิ่งนี้Yesterday, 50+ product leaders from across the Hg portfolio came together for the CPO AI Summit to discuss how we will reshape product management & leadership in the AI era. Read more on why the CPO is becoming the centre of the universe: https://lnkd.in/enUas3dx Our mandate is clear - understanding that in every platform shift, the playbook must be rewritten, not updated. AI is changing how we build products, the pace at which we can move, the depth of customer understanding and the definition of success. CPOs today must master the art of customer workflows deeply, embed adoption thinking from day 1, and orient their roadmaps around the required outcomes and the problems we’re solving, not features we’re building. The goals are clear - deliver lasting customer value through better products, a deep understanding of your customers' pain points, faster innovation, and stronger product leadership. The opening evening saw Avaneesh Marwaha of Litera, and Hg's David Issott discuss defending market position against AI-native competitors – a conversation that underscored the urgency of resetting product ambition. Matthew Brockman kicked off the main day, underscoring the importance of product and CPO in the shift to AI. Oji Udezue (Twitter, Calendly, Atlassian & Typeform to name a few) delivered an inspiring keynote on how the role of the CPO is rapidly evolving – humility & agency are ever important. Lindsay Sparks, Hg Serial Chair, discussed setting a clear product direction and owning ‘the last mile’, bringing to life how he’s done this at the Hg businesses he chairs. Carrie Osman, CEO & Founder of Cruxy, and Christopher Maloof, Chair of Benevity, explored why deep customer understanding is now the true advantage for product leaders. We also heard from product leaders from across the portfolio – including Ashley Sakai Berenson, Derek Bluestone, Jay Jamison, Wes Childs, Travis A. – on how they have reshaped their teams and approach to what great product management looks like in the age of AI – from embedding deep workflow discovery, rapid prototyping and inclusion of telemetry into every build, to early alignment with GTM and customers teams to successfully build, launch, and drive adoption of new products. Across the sessions and discussions, one thing was clear: the CPO role is expanding – from delivery to cross-functional orchestration, from roadmap management to reinvention. The opportunity is vast, and the imperative to accelerate our businesses toward true product-led, AI-enabled growth has never been more critical. Thank you to everyone for the depth and candour you brought to the conversations. We look forward to continuing this dialogue with our CPO community as we build the next generation of products together. Jay Jamison ชอบสิ่งนี้Jay Jamison ชอบสิ่งนี้Earlier this year, I had open-heart surgery. The chain of events that got me there started when I had Korean barbecue the night before an annual checkup with blood work. When the results came back, my triglycerides were about 10 times normal. I assumed it was a faulty test possibly related to my dinner which was fatty. But I work in healthcare technology and knew enough about incidental findings to ask my provider another question: Should I get a coronary artery calcium scan? Insurance didn’t cover it, so I paid for it myself. That scan started a series of follow-up tests that ultimately found something completely unrelated to my triglycerides. I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve, a condition I had lived with my entire life without knowing it. I was surprised because I had never shown any symptoms and I exercised regularly; in fact, I just notched a personal record in a half marathon last year. Yet, due to the bicuspid valve, I had developed an enlarged aorta with severe regurgitation. The diagnosis eventually led to open-heart surgery. I was also extraordinarily fortunate in what happened next. Within roughly two weeks I had completed my tests, heard directly from a cardiologist and had a cardiac surgeon lined up. Many Americans would not have had the same access, knowledge, and resources. That experience has made the questions surrounding early diagnosis, incidental findings, and access to care very personal for me.

Jay Jamison ชอบสิ่งนี้Jay Jamison ชอบสิ่งนี้Last week, I wrapped up 5.5 years at LogicGate - a chapter of my career that’s pretty hard to put into words. I’m leaving with so much gratitude for the opportunities I’ve had to grow as a leader, work with some truly incredible people, and, something I’m especially proud of, help build our Technical Account Management function from its early days into the incredible team it is today. I’m especially grateful to Matt Kunkel Diego Panama Mary Beth Lischke Ariana Totura (Guerra) Sarah Nuttall Jeremiah McElyea, PMP Vince Dour Matt Maiers Chris Clarke and so many others who trusted me, challenged me, and made me better along the way. And to the TAM and Professional Services teams: thank you for letting me be part of your growth and for being such a big part of mine. Getting to build alongside you all and watch this Technical CS team grow has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career, hands down. For now, I’m looking forward to a little extra time with my family before the next chapter begins 💕 Thank you for everything, LogicGate. I’ll be cheering you on!

Automation ROI often gets framed as a math problem: hours saved multiplied by headcount. That framing misses the real value. The biggest gains come from predictability. When leaders can trust cycle times, staffing needs, and quality outcomes, decision-making improves everywhere. Predictability reduces stress. It improves borrower experience. It makes growth manageable. If your ROI model only counts time saved, you’re likely undervaluing the impact. How do you measure success when processes actually stabilize?

The MAW (Multiple Award Winner) problem with SBIRs has finally come to a head. MAW is a PC term for SBIR-mills, and they have always distorted the SBIR process and sucked up money that should be sent to real, value-producing startups. In my opinion, however, this has always been a problem with topic selection and criteria. This problem could easily be fixed by the author of the topic being specific and the reviewers being skeptical of any respondent they hear over and over and over. Back when I responded to SBIRs, I was quietly told the way to win an SBIR is to write the topic for the sponsor. The issue isn't with MAWs, it's with topic sponsors and agencies not being willing to do what is well within their power.

Just read a piece from the team at Camber Creek portfolio company Proof on the evolving state of authentication…and it hit home. For years I’ve been thinking “passwords are dead,” but also lamenting the difficulty navigating the labyrinthine world of advanced security. This blog lays out exactly what’s replacing passwords in a way that’s practical, not just theoretical. Five methods stood out: - App-based authenticators finally killing SMS (good riddance, SIM-swap nightmares) - Continuous authentication that watches behavior during the session (the “someone stole the cookie but can’t act like you” protection we’ve all been missing) - Adaptive authentication that doesn’t treat grandma on her usual iPad the same as a login from a Tor exit node in a new country - MFA done right (and then taken further with verified digital certificates) - Biometrics with actual liveness + document tying, so it’s not just “a face” but your verified face What really resonated was the reminder that the strongest systems aren’t about piling on more factors; they’re about using the right factor at the right moment. Risk-based, context-aware, and (crucially) user-respecting. I’m biased but Proof’s angle of anchoring everything to high-assurance digital certificates feels like the missing glue. It’s one thing to authenticate someone at login; it’s another to carry that verified identity forward through the entire session, signature, or transaction. This one is worth the read. Two weeks ago on Swimming with Allocators, we sat down with David Clark, CIO at VenCap, to talk about what decades of venture data can teach allocators. One takeaway that stood out: discounts don’t matter as much as people think in venture secondaries. Because venture is such a power-law asset class, outcomes are driven by exposure to a few massive winners. Whether a stake is bought at a small discount, or even a premium, often matters far less than the quality of the underlying company and its upside. Great conversation on venture returns, manager selection, and the nuances of how allocators should think about secondary investments. 👇 Link in the comments.

Seth Levine nailed it! The concentration problem isn't just a GP pain point... it's choking innovation. When capital pools around the same 20 funds, emerging managers and founders get shut out. Love that he's using his platform to call this out. Foundry has backed 50+ emerging managers. That's the diversification the ecosystem needs. This is exactly why Carta exists — making capital allocation visible and accessible. Capital Evolution hits at exactly the right moment. Thanks for having us Daniel Dart.
