💲 We’ll take “career plot twists” for $2,000. 💭 Before joining McKinsey, he was a lawyer, a surgeon, and a writer for "Grey’s Anatomy". 🙋 Who is Senior Expert Tafari? Tafari’s path has taken more turns than most, including a stint on Jeopardy!—and he wouldn't change a thing. "I’ve always loved trivia. As a kid, I’d play review games at school and answer in full Jeopardy! mode—“Who is…?” “What is…?”—even when no one asked me to. Trivia became this way of learning a little about everything, and that’s always stuck with me. I started my career as a lawyer but quickly realized I needed a job that felt more impactful. So I made a change and went all-in on becoming a surgeon. Halfway through my residency in the Bronx, I got this wild offer: take a year off and work on Grey’s Anatomy as a medical consultant, writing the medical parts of the script. That was such a fun experience and opened my eyes to what I wanted next in my career. I still wanted to do meaningful work, but I also needed variety and flexibility. That’s how I found my way to McKinsey. Thinking back, even as my career changed, curiosity was the constant. I wouldn’t be on my fourth life if I hadn’t stayed open to whatever came next.” #McKCareers
