Welcome to the XXIII ISBC conference in Dresden

The ISBC conferences have a long tradition in bringing together researchers from different areas in life sciences who share interest in elucidating the energetics of biological processes by various calorimetric and thermodynamic approaches. Theory, experiment and technical developments will be discussed in a setting that allows for intensive discussions among participants.

The conference fosters the consolidation and the further spread of biological calorimetry. New methods are constantly developed such that increasingly complex systems can be studied. The latter range from molecular recognition processes and the assembly of large supramolecular complexes to the energetics of live organisms. Encouraging young scientists to broaden their knowledge, present their data and interact with colleagues is the central intention and the basis for the continuing success of the conference series.

The XXIII ISBC conference takes place in the vibrant university city of Dresden which features its world class research institutions, a rich history and a vivid artistic life covering performing arts, fine arts as well as internationally renowned musical ensembles.

The venue is located in the city center such that participants will also have the chance to get an impression of the city's historic architectural landmarks.
