Not all, but most I would say Evidence is there that fintech companies are buying travel and traveltech companies. They want the millions of transactions that flow each and every day and then leverage FX exchanges alongside AI will just be the enabler not the holy grail. Will become a commodity of choice in the end Amazing how low tech travel industry is in general verses other industries !? I go to shows and see so called ‘latest agentic AI’ and it’s already 1-2 years behind ! I welcome any healthy debate here Www.ventureandprosper.comNigel Clarke shared thisZuck just told the travel industry who will earn money in distribution in the future... and it's NOT the OTAs. 🤯 At Meta Connect he repeated: Muse stays free for most users, and Meta will "profit by taking a small fee from transactions". The fee comes from the merchant. For travel this changes who gets paid. A small fee at the point of sale will replace the layered margins we have today: OTA commission, metasearch CPC, affiliate cuts. The agent takes its cut. Everything else stays with whoever the agent transacts with. The travel partner Meta announced at Connect is Expedia. That works only as long as suppliers cannot connect directly. Agents book what they can read. HOWEVER most of the industry is invisible to that agent today. We need structured, machine-readable, reliable data (and CONTEXT) from a trustworthy source to sell directly via an agent. If the industry stays as it is, suppliers reach the agent through an OTA and pay twice: the OTA margin plus the agent fee. Distribution gets (even) more expensive. Distribution is becoming a data & context problem. Everything else is a merchant fee. BTW if you want access to the best data in the industry, check out YGO 😜

UK tech companies completed over 1,000 funding rounds, down 38% compared to 2024, with 27 ‘mega rounds’ and six new unicorns created.
