Ben Ashworth reposted thisCongratulations to our portfolio company Ryft on its £20m Series B. A fantastic milestone for Sadra Hosseini, Alex Mackenzie and the whole team. We’re proud to be part of the journey and excited for what’s ahead as Ryft expands across Europe and the US.Ben Ashworth reposted thisI still remember a payments expert at an accelerator five years ago telling us Ryft couldn't be done. It was pretty crushing. Sadra , Richard and I were convinced we could build something different in payments, but the people who knew the industry far better than us told us we were wrong. We decided to take the risk. Our first partner went live in November 2021, It felt enormous at the time. Now we serve thousands of businesses across the UK and Europe. But the journey from that first customer to where we are today wasn’t straightforward. There were plenty of moments along the way where the easier option would have been to stop, slow down, or take the safer route. Ben Ashworth reposted thisAnother impressive milestone for Laundryheap, expanding access to convenient laundry and dry cleaning through a partnership with one of the UK’s most recognised loyalty programmes.Ben Ashworth reposted thisWe're excited to announce we have partnered with Tesco and its iconic Clubcard. You can now collect Tesco Clubcard points with every Laundryheap order. So, while we’re busy freeing you from the 'wash, dry, repeat' cycle, you’re busy racking up points for your weekly shop, the next tank of petrol, or even your next getaway. Partnering with one of the UK’s most recognisable brands is another big milestone for us. We want to redefine how people handle one of life's most boring chores on a global scale, and what better way to drive that than with one of the globe's biggest companies. To other brands out there - we’re always looking for world-class partners to join us in our mission to liberate the world from laundry. Ben Ashworth reposted thisBen Ashworth reposted thisWe’re pleased to share that The SidebySide Partnership has invested in native as part of its Series B growth round. We invested because Native has built a strong and defensible platform connecting universities, students, and brands. The business already reaches 1.8m+ students across 86% of the UK university market, with 100% university retention, and is now showing early signs of repeatable expansion in the US. Looking forward to supporting Nick Musto and the team in this next phase of growth 📈 #venturecapital #seriesb #growth

Ben Ashworth liked thisBen Ashworth liked thisVestaboard UK Thanks for the exceptional crowdfunding totaliser. Why do we need one of those? Oh, coz our crowdfund just went live. Like an hour ago. We're about to sail through £800k and I'd love you to be part of it. The link is under my name - that little link that says "Visit my website" will take you right there. Since last year we've grown 7x, hit almost $10m ARR and are about to launch the product everyone has been asking us to make for two years. It's finally ready. Help us get it out to the millions in the UK fed up of bad signal. Don’t invest unless you’re prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment.

Today 120,000 customers have joined us, and we're one of the UK's top 100 fastest growing startups. But this is truly just the beginning. We’ve got huge plans for what comes next. We won’t rest until rubbish signal and expensive roaming are a thing of the past. Your investment helps us get there faster, and you'll pick up some rewards along the way. Ben Ashworth liked thisBen Ashworth liked thisManchester's where we built it. Europe and the US are where we grow it. Our founders have been best friends for over 20 years. Back in 2019 they built an ordering app together that grew to a million users, then ran straight into payment providers who couldn't keep up. So they built Ryft. Last week, Gresham House Ventures led our £20M Series B round, with Pembroke VCT and Ingenii Capital backing us again. Thousands of businesses are now running payments through Ryft and we're only just getting started. Sky News exclusive in the comments 🚀 #fintech #europeanexpansion #founderled

Ben Ashworth liked thisBen Ashworth liked thisTonic Health's Kids' Strawberry Multivitamin has become a significant market disrupter in the last 3 years. Growing from a base of almost nothing to adding over £1.1m in retail value sales to the market in the last year. 🍓 🍓 Whilst the line has grown in distribution during that time, by far the most exciting element is that the growth has been achieved through consistent increases in sales per store. A firm sign of a product with growing consumer demand, rather than one that simply appears in more places. Ben Ashworth liked thisBen Ashworth liked this1 in 3. That's roughly how many Series A companies ever make it to Series B. We just became one of them. Ryft has raised £20M in the largest Series B for a UK payments company in 2026. The round was led by Gresham House Ventures, with continued backing from existing investors Pembroke VCT and Ingenii Capital. It follows a year in which we’ve tripled in size, with more than 6,000 businesses now processing payments with Ryft. Proud of the team behind this, and grateful for the continued backing. The UK startup market just showed how steady this cycle really is. 🟢 15,978 new companies - formation levels holding firm week after week. 📉 14,036 closures - continuing to sit comfortably below new starts. 📦 Retail and property remain dominant - with consultancy and software close behind. This is what sustained momentum looks like. A stable flow of new companies entering the market every single week. And that consistency is where the best outbound opportunities are built. Big news for Manchester’s tech ecosystem. Manchester-based Versori has been acquired by US tech giant Avalara, another proof point that world-class technology companies are being built outside London. I’ve known Sean Brown for a long time, first as a colleague after I told him his business idea was terrible and he should come work for Social Chain instead, but more importantly as a friend, and watching his journey has been incredible. Sean’s story has never followed the easy path. What it has always had is resilience, ambition, and an obsession with building things that matter. That’s exactly what Versori represents. From a startup founded in 2022 to a company trusted by global businesses like Macy’s and now acquired by a major US tech leader, this is what happens when talent, grit and opportunity collide in the North. I was proud to invest in Versori, not just because of the technology, but because of the people behind it. Too often we still hear the narrative that ambitious tech founders have to leave Manchester to win. Deals like this prove the opposite. Manchester is producing globally competitive companies. Manchester is attracting international buyers. Manchester is exporting innovation to the world. And founders like Sean are helping lead that charge. Huge congratulations to Sean Brown , Daniel Jones, Will Jackson and the entire Versori team. This is a big win for you, and another big win for Manchester. 🚀 Here’s a picture of Sean & I at my wedding, discussing integration and b2b sales.

The inaugural UK ScaleUp Investment Report 2026 is now live. The UK has a world-class startup ecosystem. But too few companies successfully make the leap from startup to scaleup. In 2025: → Over £17bn was invested into innovative UK companies → Yet less than 600 raised Series A or B funding (£3.5bn) → Just 7% of seed-funded startups progressed to institutional scaleup capital This demonstrates there are still missing rungs on the funding ladder. On Tuesday we were proud to publish The UK ScaleUp Investment Report 2026 - a data-led assessment of the UK’s scaleup investment landscape, combining: → 2025 venture data analysis → Founder and investor sentiment insights → Founders’ view of policy changes across government and public finance initiatives → Alternative funding options → Ecosystem ambitions for the year ahead The conclusion is clear: capital exists. Ambition exists. But access, coordination and investment readiness remain structural challenges. If we are serious about creating more UK venture-backed scaleup successes, we must move beyond fragmented support and lean into what we call ‘venture collaboration’ - public and private sector working together with shared objectives to help more companies scale with investment. The UK ScaleUp Investment Report was launched at VenturePath’s inaugural UK ScaleUp Investment Summit, joined by Minister McDougall, Minister for Small Business & Economic Transformation. Read the full report in the comments below. Collectively, we can create more venture-backed UK scaleup successes.

The mandate for the 2026 UK venture ecosystem has shifted. Growth at all costs has been replaced by a far more rigorous requirement: Institutional-Grade Resilience. For the British founder, the barrier to a successful Series A is rarely just more sales. It is the Commercial Architecture that sustains them. At Migasuto, we have evolved beyond the traditional Fractional CFO model. We deploy a full-stack finance division. Every founder acquires their own dedicated Tripartite Team comprising a Strategic CFO, a Business Operations Manager, and a Financial Analyst working in unison to bridge the execution gap for exactly 30 companies this year. Our 2026 Mandate: A £7M Portfolio Economic Impact. • £5M in Diverse Capital Unlocked: Securing the debt, equity, and grants required to empower high-growth and underrepresented founders. • £2M in New Sales Generated: Leveraging our infrastructure to help founders institutionalise their sales process and close enterprise-level contracts. Whether you are navigating the Ascension Portfolio (stabilising cash flow for ventures under £500k) or the Pinnacle Portfolio (engineering Series A readiness for scale-ups over £500k), our objective is the same: Data-driven profitability. We are not just managing finance; we are building the national infrastructure for the next generation of British scale-ups. The ecosystem is evolving. Ensure your financial foundation is built for the weight of your ambition.
