Andy Caddy shared thisI recently had the chance to sit down with Mark Chillingworth to discuss the role that technology plays in shaping member experience at PureGym for a piece in diginomica We covered lots of ground, from the pace of PureGym's international growth, now at more than 700 gyms and 2.4 million members globally, to how we think about building a seamless digital member experience. We also talked about why building and operating our own digital platforms matters to us, and the role our technology teams play in supporting PureGym’s continued expansion across multiple markets. At the heart of it all is a simple goal: using technology to make fitness more accessible, help people feel comfortable getting started in the gym, and support people in building healthier habits. It was great to chat about what we’re building at PureGym and where the sector is heading and always a pleasure to spend time with Mr Chillingworth. Andy Caddy shared thisWhat a great day yesterday at Hot Topics in the BAFTA building participating, networking and generally feeling privileged to be amongst so many great people in our industry. In such inspiring company I was also very honoured to be a Global CIO100 winner as well. Congratulations to Doug Drinkwater, Peter Stojanovic, and Philip Randerson for putting on such a special event and thanks to the entire HotTopics team for all the hard work in making one of the events of the year.

Andy Caddy shared thisNext week is the inaugural European Fitness Technology Summit and I'm delighted to be on stage with some of my favourite industry peers - Milan Juza, Mark Williams and Steven Dick - together representing over a third of ALL gym members in the UK. All that and Dr. Paul Bedford moderating!

Andy Caddy shared thisSenior leaders (especially technology leaders!) too often treat networking as a job hunting activity. But the reality is that your next role depends on relationships you’ve built long before they’re needed. I wanted to take a moment to share some experiences in network building to inspire leaders to be proactive in managing this important aspect of their career. Andy Caddy shared thisOne of the many reasons I wanted to come back to this sector was the great camaraderie and cross industry support that exists that I have never found anywhere else. When I suggested to Al Noshirvani that I thought his US conference might want to hear from a European perspective I wasn't quite sure whether I could convince some of the leading operators in the UK to share a panel with me but I needn't have worried - these are great people and we are on stage today (hosted by the legend that is Mike Leveque) representing over 3m UK gym members between us (that's almost 5% of the population!). Thanks Milan Juza, Steven Dick, Mark Williams and thanks to Al and team for hosting us.

Andy Caddy liked thisAndy Caddy liked thisThe secret is finally out. I’m incredibly excited to announce that I’ll be joining Virgin Active as UK Head of Personal Training. Personal Training is an industry I’ve spent my entire career in and one I care deeply about. This is a huge opportunity to help shape what Personal Training can look like at scale, for the coaches, for the members and for the business. There’s a lot to do. That’s exactly why I wanted the challenge. I’m looking forward to working under Hugh Hanley and alongside the wider Virgin Active team, meeting everyone across the clubs and, most importantly, getting started. Virgin Active, see you on 1st October

We opened our first lounge at Manchester Airport in September 1987. A lot has changed since then. Terminal consolidation. Demands of travellers. Competition. Today, our newest lounge in Terminal 2 adds 300 seats for passengers and continues a relationship shaped with and by one of the UK’s busiest airports. Calm where the terminal is busy. Useful where the day is demanding. Connected to the city and people it serves through artwork, finishes and details that draw on Manchester’s industrial heritage.

Andy Caddy liked thisAndy Caddy liked thisEverything the arrows point at changes by itself. This is not magic. The Gym Group opens 15 gyms a year (just wow). The only thing slowing them down was the sheer number of ads and the hours of manual work behind each one. We helped with that part. Every gym now gets its own town, its own stage, its own offer, from one feed. Nobody rebuilds anything. This is the second case study we've published with The Gym Group, which we're choosing to read as a good sign. Thank you Seanpaul Walsh and the team for letting us tell it again. 💚 Read more about the 4 stages of launching a gym → https://lnkd.in/ewGhifCn

As part of Xplor Fitness & Leisure, it was a privilege to host representatives from many of the biggest and most innovative fitness, health, and leisure brands for two days of valuable discussion and collaboration. Events like this, as well as our daily collaboration with customers, allow us to better understand the changing needs and ambitions of the brands we serve. This insight helps guide our continued investment in Exerp, cementing the platform as the operating system of choice for industry leaders today and into the future. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success.
