It’s been an exciting month at Making Room ! The team and I have been hard at work in our micro-factory on a variety of recent production runs. First up, we produced collar and lead sets for Stockport-based pet brand Fajn. It was a great experience troubleshooting and developing the process with (sometimes challenging) heavy-duty materials. Next, we made another batch of Stoma bags for Ellie at Recondition . Many of these were donated to local hospitals, and it’s been a pleasure to work with a brand making a real impact in communities where it matters! We also had several sampling days this month for a diverse range of clients. The team and I enjoyed supporting other small businesses in the product development phase, helping them refine their processes and techniques to create purposeful and long-lasting products. We’re excited to take these into production over the coming weeks! We are delighted to share some wonderful news from one of the Tata Varsity Pitch 2025 finalists. Recondition, founded by Ellie Louise Brown has been announced as a finalist in the Drapers Conscious Fashion Awards 2026, nominated in the One to Watch category. The Drapers Conscious Fashion Awards celebrate the most forward-thinking businesses driving positive change across the fashion industry. Founded in Manchester, Recondition creates adaptive, accessible clothing for people with disabilities and chronic health conditions a space that has long been underserved by mainstream fashion. Their co-design approach, which places the people they design for at the centre of the process, exemplifies the kind of purpose driven entrepreneurship that the Tata Varsity Pitch, and the Centre for Entrepreneurs, exists to champion. This recognition is a testament to what becomes possible when talented founders are given the platform, support and belief to pursue ideas that truly matter. From Conversation to Change 🗣️ As GM Business Growth Hub hosted our International Women's Day headline event on Friday, it provided a stark reminder why we come back together each year.
