About us
LetPlant addresses the environmental impact of poor indoor houseplant care, which contributes to high waste rates and undermines urban sustainability. Research shows that 70% of houseplants die within the first year, leading to unnecessary carbon waste from repeated production, packaging, and shipping. Additionally, most homes lack indoor air quality awareness despite the WHO estimating 9 out of 10 people breathe polluted indoor air. LetPlant's Al and sensor-driven system (LetPlant SDESA) reduces waste by improving houseplant survival and uses real-time air quality data to inform healthier indoor living. By empowering users to care for houseplants more effectively, we reduce carbon emissions, support biodiversity, and improve indoor environments at scale. With over 27 million households in the UK alone owning houseplants and over 1 billion indoor plant sales globally, the potential climate benefit of increasing plant survival and health is substantial and scalable.

**#VentureForward Cohort 2 Announcement** 💥💥💥GC Angels 2nd Cohort of #VentureForward - the investment readiness accelerator for underrepresented founders in the North of England - is here! 💥 💥💥 The response has been phenomenal - we received over 130 applications from founders across the North - which meant the original decision to keep to 20 places for Cohort 2 was just too hard to stick to...so we picked 22! 🤩 On behalf of the team at GC Angels I want to sincerely thank every founder that applied for Cohort 2. ❤️ The strength of applications allowed us to continue to support founder diversity in our recruitment - as a result 55% of founders in Cohort 2 are from an ethnic minority background and 55% are female founders. We had a brilliant night last night at the Manchester regional final of SeedLegals "The Pitch 2026", the UK and Ireland’s largest founder pitching competition. Expertly compered by Mo Aldalou from Baltic Ventures, the evening saw 10 x founders step up and pitch their businesses in 90 seconds to a sharp investor panel: Amber Jardine, Mercia Ventures Ranvir Singh, GC Angels Ben Davies PXN Ventures For the founders, this was a test of storytelling under pressure. What really stood out was how closely investor expectations mirrored the fundamentals of good PR. Again and again, the focus came back to clear, simple communication: - What is the product? - Why does it matter? - Why is it different? - Why now? This is the task of a PR, to make all of our clients' stories and products into a pitch to journalists, to make them care, to get them hooked. (Or as Anthony Rose said, to "get them to watch the second episode on Netflix"). In a 90-second pitch, just like when we talk to journalists, there’s no room for complexity or assumption. And with it being #NationalStorytellingWeek, it's apt to be reminded that strong stories don’t appear by accident. They’re built deliberately. That’s exactly what our Storybuilding Workshop (link in comments) is designed to do.
