AI powered insights for the media and entertainment industry

About us

Most video creative launches untested. That creates real commercial risk: wasted media spend, fragmented feedback, and campaigns that underperform because nobody truly knew how the audience would respond, until it was too late. North AI exists to change that. We combine neuroscience data, AI, and behavioural insight to simulate your customer's behaviour to help you (brands, agencies, studios and creators) understand how audiences respond to products, policies and marketing...before it goes live. The result: → Faster creative validation → Earlier audience feedback → Greater confidence before media spend → Fewer expensive mistakes at launch Our technology is patent-pending, backed by six UK Government Grants, and built by a team with backgrounds at Sony, NBC Universal, and Warner Bros. We're currently working closely with brands and operators to refine where this workflow creates the most value. If you're exploring creative validation, audience understanding, or smarter campaign decision- making, connect with us or request a walkthrough.

I help brands predict audience behaviour before they launch ads, products, or policies. Why? Because traditional market research is becoming obsolete. Surveys are slow. Focus groups are biased. And most brands are still making creative decisions based on opinions instead of behaviour. After years analysing audience behaviour at Warner Bros. Discovery, and later leading running my own company, I kept seeing the same problem: Nobody could reliably predict how audiences would actually respond before launch! So we built North AI. We use neuroscience + AI simulations to model how audiences behave across platforms before ads, products, or campaigns go live. 100,000+ synthetic audience agents. Platform-specific behavioural modelling. Neuro-calibrated prediction systems. The result: Faster, accurate research providing insights into what your consumers ACTUALLY think, lowering your risk, and enabling you to create better-performing creative without waiting weeks for traditional research cycles. We think every major content and product decision will eventually be tested in simulation first. If you’re exploring AI-native consumer research or predictive creative testing, DM me for a free trial.

  • Most creative gets approved on gut feeling, and rejected for the same reason. The problem is not the idea. It is not having the data to back it up, before you spend and before you present. North-AI measures what your audience actually experiences when they watch your content: attention, engagement, emotional response, brain load. All of it, before you go live. So instead of defending your creative, you prove it. What would change in your process if you knew how your audience would respond before launch?

Marketing didn’t get more complex. It got more invisible. 80% of what drives conversions now can’t be tracked. Most teams still work the same way while everything else keeps evolving. And when performance drops, the instinct is to blame targeting, the channel, or the algorithm. But often, the issue is simpler. Creative isn’t tested before it goes live. Now, that can be predicted by simulating how real audiences pay attention and respond to content. Measuring what actually drives performance: hook strength, retention, message clarity, and conversion potential. Guessing doesn’t scale. That’s the shift.

  • Why Your Marketing Team Is Flying Blind We talk a lot about performance. But very little about visibility. Most creative decisions are still made without seeing how people actually respond. Not because teams are doing it wrong. Because that insight usually comes after launch. So content goes live. Budgets get spent. And only then do the results tell the story. By that point, it’s not testing. It’s damage control. The uncomfortable reality is that most teams aren’t optimising creative. They’re reacting to it. This is what it means to be “flying blind”. And why the teams pulling ahead are changing when they learn what works. Full article in the comments 👇

The “8-second attention span” isn’t the problem. Bad content is. People will watch a 3-hour podcast…if it earns their attention in 3 seconds. Most content today is still created and tested based on assumptions, opinions, or post-launch data. But attention isn’t subjective. It’s biological. The brain decides in milliseconds whether something is relevant. If it doesn’t pass that initial filter, there’s no engagement, no processing, no recall. And yet, most brands only discover this after their campaigns are live. These are some of the key mechanisms behind how attention actually works today, and why traditional approaches to testing content often fall short. Full article in the comments

We spent £600 to answer a question brands spend $billions debating. Branding first... or storytelling first? Every creative team has this argument. Senior stakeholders push for the logo upfront. Creatives want to hook viewers emotionally before revealing the brand. Both sides have conviction but neither side has data. So North AI ran a #Neuroscience study to find out. We replicated Google's ABC creative framework with our own technology, measuring attention, emotional response, cognitive load, and engagement in real time. The data: → Branding-First scored 42/100 on our predictive effectiveness metric → Balanced scored 38/100 → Storytelling-First scored 24/100 — 75% lower than the winner This aligned with Google's own Brand Lift Study on the same stimulus set, which found Branding-First achieved 1.4x higher completion rates. Two widely-held hypotheses were also falsified: 1. "Early branding increases skip rates" — Engagement was statistically identical across all three conditions (4.1/5) 2. "The Balanced approach is the safest bet" — It scored lowest on shareability (63%) and recommendation intent (75%) Effect size: Cohen's d = 1.90, nearly 4x above the threshold for a large effect. The signal was unambiguous even at n=33. Our approach: ⏳ 8 hours 💰 £600. Our results matched Google's own Brand Lift Study findings on the same videos, with a fraction of the budget. The uncomfortable truth about video advertising is that most creative decisions come down to gut instinct, internal politics, or copying what worked last time. We're building North AI to change that, simulating human reactions with proprietary brain data, making neuroscience testing affordable, fast, and actionable for any brand or agency, pre-launch. Because £20M left on the table from a suboptimal creative is a real number. And it's avoidable for <£1k. Full methodology, statistical analysis, and results in the blog 👇🏽 [link in comments] How does your team currently make creative decisions before a video goes live?

Imagine testing your content in front of thousands of people…and getting results in real time 😯 No waiting. No guesswork. No IP leaks. That’s the power of simulated audiences. North AI has been investing in synthetic audience personas for the last 2 years, researching how AI + Neuroscience can simulate the way people think and feel about the content they see. Why? Still today, the vast majority of content gets published completely untested. As a result, audience engagement is slipping by about 10% per year because content creators simply don't know their audience as well as they think they do. Brands especially, who spend >$50bn per year on digital ads, invest very little time upfront to validate their campaign ideas, and rely on Meta for ad optimisation, which means valuable media budgets get spent testing and not marketing. It's a bit like testing out a new car after it's been fully built and rolled off the factory floor! Having a focus group on demand, at scale means stronger messaging with less risk and on average, 30% higher ROI. Would you trust synthetic audiences to shape your content strategy? Instead of relying on small samples or delayed feedback, you can now: • See how different audience segments respond instantly • Identify what resonates, and what falls flat • Iterate before your content ever goes live Ge in touch to find out more rishi@north-ai.com  #Spiderman #Marvel
