This Recovery Month, we’re honoured to share an incredibly powerful poem written by a family member who recently attended one of our Family Support groups. Through heartfelt words, they reflect on challenges, strengths and emotions that often come with supporting a loved one affected by drug and alcohol use. Words matter, but there’s rarely one "right" way to describe another person’s experience. This toolkit encourages us to rethink potentially stigmatising language and move towards more person-centred ways of talking about people’s experiences. Because when it comes to reducing stigma, small changes in our words can make a meaningful difference🧡 What’s one language change you might take away from this?

We had a fantastic day at the Gloucestershire Recovery Festival last week! We joined partners, local organisations and community members to celebrate the strength and connection that makes the recovery community so special. From inspiring guest speakers to silent disco dancing, circus skills and wellbeing activities, the day was packed with opportunities to come together, learn and most importantly, have some fun! We also heard from some of our festival partner organisations about what the day means to them and the importance of coming together as a recovery community. When an overdose happened, Naloxone helped save a life. As we approach International Overdose Awareness Day, we're sharing a powerful first-hand account from Allen, an EF Psychological Wellbeing Worker, who earlier this year administered naloxone in an emergency. Allen's experience highlights the vital role naloxone can play in preventing overdose deaths and why increasing awareness, education and access to this life-saving medication remains so important.
