A fuel hydrant that could fill your car's tank in less than a second? ⛽⏱️ That's what Arthur, design lead at Air bp, helped create for Heathrow's Terminal 5. Think of a fire hydrant you might see alongside a road. Now imagine it with a much bigger pipe and far higher flow rates. Then imagine it below ground. You're starting to get the picture. But while the concept sounds simple, the scale is extraordinary. At a petrol station, you'd pump around 30 to 45 litres a minute. At an airport, using this design, aircraft can be fuelled at rates of up to 3,800 litres a minute – enough to fill a Boeing 777 in around 48 minutes. Eighteen years after Terminal 5 opened, and Arthur's design was brought to reality – it's still very much in use. Your next flight could be fuelled by infrastructure that started as a sketch on his drawing board. Yet when Arthur reflects on a project of that scale, he points to a very different quality behind its success: humility. "You've got to keep that approach: the ability to change your mind and say, 'Yeah, that's a better idea.'" It's a mindset that has helped Air bp innovate throughout its 100-year history, and one that continues to help bp become simpler, stronger and more valuable every day.

Two years ahead of schedule. That's how quickly our teams brought the Fayoum North 4 well into production in Egypt, helping deliver around 80 million standard cubic feet of gas per day to the domestic market. Following the Fayoum discovery in 2025, teams across wells, subsurface and production worked together to find a faster path to first gas. By accessing additional reservoir layers and making use of existing subsea infrastructure and the Giza-Fayoum pipeline, they accelerated production while avoiding the need for major new facilities. Delivering the project required innovative engineering, close collaboration and a relentless focus on safe execution. But the real achievement was the team behind it. Colleagues from across disciplines came together to solve a complex technical challenge, unlocking a new approach for Egypt's Mediterranean deepwater and demonstrating what can be achieved when expertise, experience and teamwork come together. The result was more than faster production. It created a repeatable model that could help future developments move from discovery to production more quickly and efficiently. It is another example of how our people are applying technical expertise and innovative thinking to help safely deliver reliable energy while continuously improving the way we operate.

What does it take to keep energy moving in a changing energy system? That's been the question behind many of the conversations at #Gastech2026 this week. A few themes coming up time and again: 🌏 How to meet growing energy demand, particularly across Asia ⚡ How reliable supply is supported by not just production, but the trading, shipping and logistics networks that connect energy with customers 🤝 How strong partnerships help deliver complex energy projects and long-term energy security 🚢 How experience across the LNG value chain creates resilience in an increasingly dynamic market With policymakers, customers, partners and industry leaders all in the room, it's where some of the sector's biggest opportunities and challenges are being debated, and we’re enjoying the opportunity to contribute and learn.  Here’s some photos from the event so far...

FUELING THE SHIFT. bp and Wild Bean Café are helping power the Nedbank IMC 2026 in more ways than one. From freshly brewed Wild Bean Café coffee and the bp lounge to delegate goodie bags and more, we're bringing the convenience, energy, and hospitality of the forecourt experience directly to conference delegates. There is also a compelling business story at play. This year, Sheldon Tatchell, Founder of Legends Barber, joins the IMC stage, while Legends continues to expand its footprint across bp forecourts. It is a powerful example of how brands can collaborate to create meaningful, relevant experiences that add value for customers. Looking forward to creating a memorable experience for the delegates at Nedbank IMC 2026. 📅 17 September 2026 📍 Johannesburg or Online SHIFT HAPPENS™️. ARE YOU READY? When onshore meets offshore 🤝 How do you enable an organization of bp’s scale to operate efficiently – simpler, stronger, and more valuable? One way? Bringing our people together – just ask Amy. As a compliance advisor, Amy helps guide offshore teams through permits, regulations and requirements, helping our operations continue safely. Amy works onshore but recently visited our offshore Argos platform, seeing firsthand how processes work in the field: “There is no substitute for experiencing offshore operations in person. These visits provided an opportunity to observe day-to-day activities, gain a deeper understanding of facility operations, and strengthen partnerships with the people who bring our projects to life.” An added bonus? Amy met a colleague who grew up just down the road from her and her son, Skyler, in Virginia. His name? Also Skyler. It’s a small world after all.

What if the spare part you need is no longer readily available? Instead of waiting, our teams can now create one. Four platforms in the Gulf of America are already using 3D printing to produce parts on site. This helps reduce lead times and keeps operations running safely and reliably. At Thunder Horse, when a replacement motor fan was required, the team used 3D printing to produce a suitable replacement component, helping maintain operational continuity. At Mad Dog, engineers designed and printed a specialised thread protector overnight, allowing work to continue safely without disruption. This approach makes it possible to create complex components directly from digital designs. It opens up new ways to solve operational challenges. But the real story is our people. Across our operations, teams are combining engineering expertise, creativity and collaboration to solve problems in real time. It is another example of how digital capability and engineering expertise are working together to support safer, more efficient and reliable operations.
