Screen-free audiobooks for children, now the audio partner for the National Literacy Trust's Libraries for Primaries.

About us

Reading doesn’t always look the same. At Voxblock, we believe listening to stories is reading. It builds language, imagination, and confidence. Children love stories, but too often they’re delivered through screens. Phones distract. Screens interrupt focus. Habits form that parents don’t always feel good about. Voxblock gives children a simple way to enjoy stories without screens or Wi-Fi. Just press play and listen. By removing distractions, stories take centre stage. Children focus. They imagine. They return to stories again and again. Our mission is simple. Help children build a lifelong relationship with stories through audio. Stories you can touch.

Not much compares to the magical pull of a story... Especially as a child whose imagination runs wild. Annabel loves swimming, pop music – and now, like so many other teenagers, she’s an avid bookworm too. But before BWBF came along, books posed a challenge for Annabel whose sight loss and other disabilities made reading harder. Whether using large print or reading from screens, after a couple of pages, fatigue would set in. The free Voxblock audiobook player we gave her changed all that in a flash - allowing her to delve into whole new worlds. No screens, no help needed. What we gave Annabel isn't a gadget - it's independence and the joy of a good story. ❤️ [Image description: Annabel smiles broadly. She is wearing glasses, and a ribbon in her hair. In her hands, she holds the audiobook player we gave her. Overlaid text reads: "It's like a whole new world has opened up." Annabel's mum.]

  • Incredibly proud to share that our Co-Founder, Rebecca Lundgren is a judge for The Week Junior UK Book Awards 2026. Alongside an incredible panel that includes Matt Baker, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Chris Riddell and many more, Rebecca will be helping to recognise the very best in children's books this year. For a company built on the belief that every child deserves access to great stories, this feels like a really meaningful moment. Children's books matter. The people who champion them matter even more. We couldn't think of anyone better. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eTdwqF39

  • Did you know Voxblock is in schools? We started as a product for the home. But teachers and librarians found us, and we quickly realised how much schools needed something like this. No Wi-Fi. No apps. No safeguarding setup. Just a child, a story, and a pair of headphones. Every child in the room gets the same experience, regardless of reading ability. No adaptation needed. No extra resource from the teacher. And the feedback from schools has been incredible. visit voxblock.co.uk for more 🎧📚

  • The audiobook with absolutely nothing on it. And somehow, our most popular title. After years of producing audiobooks packed with stories, characters and adventure, Voxblock is proud to present its most ambitious title yet: nothing. Four hours and twelve minutes of pure, uninterrupted silence. No narration. No sound effects. No background music. Just the sweet, blissful absence of noise. Early reviews from parents have been overwhelmingly positive. "I put it on at bedtime and the kids just... stopped talking," said one five-star reviewer. "I don't know if it's working on them or on me, but either way I'm buying six more." Recommended for ages 0-99. Pairs well with a locked bathroom door and a cold cup of tea. Trained on a vast dataset of copyrighted audiobooks, our AI has learned everything it needs to produce the most refined silence ever released.

  • What a night. Last night we took to the stage at The Pitch UK Grand Final at Google King's Cross, competing alongside some of the most exciting startups in the UK and Ireland. We didn't take home the trophy, but we came away with something just as valuable. A room full of brilliant founders, honest conversations, and a reminder of why we do what we do. A huge congratulations to SymbioTex on a thoroughly deserved win. Thank you to The Pitch, the judges, and everyone who cheered us on. It meant a lot. Onwards. 🎙️

  • We’re proud that Voxblock is among the twelve regional champions heading into the final. What stands out looking across the cohort is the range of ideas being built. From AI platforms and compliance tools to biomaterials and accessibility driven fashion. Voxblock sits slightly differently in that mix. We’re building a physical format for audiobooks. A screen-free listening experience for children where stories live on the bookshelf, not behind a screen. It’s been a brilliant journey getting this far and we’re looking forward to the final tomorrow. Good luck to all the finalists.

  • A big week ahead for Voxblock. We’ll be London bound for a couple of industry moments that mean a lot to us. First stop is The London Book Fair, always one of the most exciting moments in the publishing calendar. It’s a chance to connect with publishers, partners and people who care deeply about stories and how they reach readers. Later in the week we’ll also be attending the grand final of The Pitch UK. Being part of that process alongside so many ambitious founders has been a great experience. We’re looking forward to the conversations, the ideas and meeting people who believe in the power of stories. At Voxblock we’re building a physical format for audiobooks, helping children discover stories without screens. If you’re going to be in London this week, let’s connect. Stories you can touch.

  • Stories change lives. But not every classroom has access to the resources they need to bring those stories to life. So this World Book Day we’re launching Stories for Schools. We’re giving five Voxblock Mini Packs to schools across the UK, helping classrooms discover the power of listening and storytelling. Audiobooks can play a powerful role in literacy. They build vocabulary. They support reluctant readers. They bring stories to life in new ways. We’re inviting parents, teachers and supporters to nominate a school that would benefit from a Voxblock listening library. If you know a school that deserves more stories in the classroom, we’d love to hear from you. Nominate a school here: https://lnkd.in/e6QnpnrQ Let’s get more stories into more classrooms. Stories you can touch.

  • We’re proud to share that Voxblock is an official partner of the 2026 The Week Junior UK Book Awards, sponsoring the Audiobook of the Year category. Stories shape how children see the world. And listening plays a powerful role in building vocabulary, comprehension and imagination. Reading does not always look the same. As a screen-free, physical audiobook format, we believe audio deserves to sit alongside print. On bookshelves. In classrooms. In homes. That’s why supporting the Audiobook of the Year category feels like a natural fit for us. We’ve also got another little surprise on the way, but more on that soon. If you care about children’s literacy, audio storytelling and access to books in all formats, keep an eye out for updates. You can also nominate your favourite title here https://lnkd.in/eHswR6Cn Excited to celebrate the very best in children’s audiobooks. #theweekjuniorbookawards
